Great small, charming hotel, recently renovated so everything is clean and tidy. Very good bathroom facilities. The room includes a small kitchenette, convenient for preparing small snacks or a little dinner. Pictures do reflect the real thing for a change! Very good breakfast in the morning, with highly enjoyable 60s/70s music playing in the background. But what really makes this hotel more than worthwhile are the owners and staff. They are friendly and very helpful, from day one onwards. Really made us feel like we were staying in their home, rather than a hotel. Thanks again for an amazing stay!
room, balcony, breakfast, staff, all
The room was well equiped with all you need to enjoy your stay in a city like Castella mare dell golfo. A small kitchen hidden in the cabinet, nice big bathroom and lovely shower. Proper wifi connection and plenty of space and chairs to sit and enjoy. The breakfast served every morning was of good quality and served with a truly fresh espresso. Friendly hosts.
Very small streets which makes it sometimes tough to drive through
Owners and staff. Father and two daughters owners and also run the place are so helpful and friendly feel like you've known them for ever. Breakfast was the best in Sicily. Parking was on the street but was not a problem. We stayed four days lots of restaurants walking distance, quite a nice fishing village.
Decent size room and shower in a central location. Breakfast was OK.
Frosty and cold attitude on check-in and even worse on check-out. Room wasn't that clean. Door was left unlocked after cleaning with my valuables in it (not impressed). I'm sure there are better places to stay in this location.
the hotel is clean, quite and great location. our room was on the street so there was a bit of noise sometimes but we slept well. the bathroom has no window and in the morning there was a bit of a bad smell. overall a great hotel reasonable breakfast and lovely big room
Very nice and clean place. Staff is nvery friendly and helpful. Location is very good for walking around the town. Nice itslian breakfest.
Ca. 20 minutes walk to the nice beach
The tasteful refurbishment of a beautiful house. The very friendly and very helpful staff. The well appointed rooms the terrace and the very tasty breakfast. This is a great place to stay .
Parking a challenge not for the faint hearted although the host will help
The room was big, nicely furnished and although we have not used it the cooking facility looked great! Breakfast had it all (fresh fruits, cereals, sweets, cappuccino) Staff was friendly, the owner picked us up when we got lost on our way to the hotel, very kind! Thank you once more for that! The double bed was very comfortable! You can have your breakfast on the roof and enjoy the view. We got the room at a great rate (October 2014)
Nothing at all.
Unfriendly staff and payment policy. Bad wifi. Small bed.
Fabulous stay at Residenza Le Zagare! Excellent location, wonderful hosts and lovely breakfast! Many thanks to Claudia and Guiseppe for a most memorable experience!
Lovely b&b , family run and could not be more helpful. Covenient for center of town and restaurants
carefully renovated old townhouse; very nice, large, comfortable, well-equipped room; noise protected windows; spacious modern bathroom; an exceptional breakfast buffet; despite the central location it is easy to find if you rely on your GPS
Tutto ottimo! This place is one of the most beautiful B&B ever. Clean, nice location, kind, helpful staff, beautiful building.. not too expensive.
mi e' piaciuto tutto :)
Loved this place ... from the moment we were picked up by Giuseppe at the airport, to when he transported us to Cefalu, our experience couldn't be faulted. In fact, I was quite disappointed we had opted to spend only four nights in Castellamare del Golfo and actually preferred it to Cefalu. We had a room on the second floor with a small balcony. The room was spotless, spacious, modern and the bed was comfortable. There was an air conditioning unit if you preferred that. We like to sleep with the window open with fresh air, so we only used it on fan setting. There was plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower too. The breakfast choice was extensive. There was even a fellow making proper coffee (whatever you wanted) We arrived around 10pm our first night and Guiseppe was kind enough to walk us to his favourite "ristorante Antiche Scale"for dinner. While this restaurant is not directly on the water the food there was by far the best we experienced on our trip in Sicily. And it had an extensive wine list as well. We actually returned for a second meal before we left and received a 10% discount both times... we didn't know we were going to receive this, they just remembered us from the first night. There are plenty of restaurants within a couple of hundred metres from the B&B. We opted to walk the 20mins to the beach every day but there was a bus if you preferred. The beach was spotless and the water crystal clear, I actually didn't expect that. I had read less kind reviews on the beach, so was most pleasantly surprised. There is a little travel agent at the end of the street, which we chose to use to visit Erice and Segesta. You could also take the bus, but we were too lazy. Overall our entire experience was positive, and couldn't fault it. Would definitely return and recommend it to anyone.
Cant really fault anything...
Great Hotel - new, modern and well decorated with taste, clean... Fantastic Staff (special thanks to Julia)! Perfect location in a wonderful city! Wish we could stay longer and will come again definitely!
Most incredible experience from accommodations to service...was blown away by this place and it's staff!
Lovely design, great, cosy rooms, impeccably clean. Great and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast. Castellamare is a good spot for exploring northwestern coast of Sicily.
You have to walk to the plaja beach (biggest beach in the area) for around 30-40 minutes or 5-10 min by car. The towels are not changed daily.
Hotel is really great, mixed old and new has specific nice, calm, atmosphere.Rooms are large, very comfortable, clean. Wi-fi was ok. Breakfast is fine also, ham/cheese, bread, fruit, cakes, musli, jogurth, juice, great coffee, tea - everything so tasty. Location depends on preferences, but close to everything - old town area, restaurants, shops with fruit/vegetable, wine, meat, cheese, bread, gift shops. Few minutes to get to bus station and city beaches. About 15 min on foot to get to great large sandy beach out of city, with beautiful and clean see.We used bus on way back from beach, usually runs on time, timetable available on reception. Next time we will rent a car, that is almost a must, if one wants to visit all what this beautiful region offers. We thank very much to Guiseppe, the cordial hotel owner and his family members at reception, who were always supportive to make our 7day-stay so great as it was. We highly recommend this hotel for short or longer stay. If possible, we will be happy to stay here again.
The staff - family business with a can do attitude
Absolutely nothing not to like about the place.
The first room was in awful blue colours and the was no ledder as on the picture. The hotel has small rooms with windows looking into the next building, there are too noisy and the smell take place. We arrived to check in time and the room was not cleaned, we had to wait 30-40 min. The room we were suggested was in dark blue colour and I aked about another - the owner cheated that this is the last one. After that I saw that another room, yellow one, was free and we had to move, because the first one was too dark. Better had choosen cherry hotel - better quality for money. then I politely explained that bright and large room was the only reason to stay in the town Claudia emotionally !!! explained that i /m so stupid that cant understand that they can't load photo of all rooms to booking. BUT than booking you expect to see white or at least large room not the ordinary small dark camera.
In a little place, which is very romantic and cute. the streets are very small, but the personal - very friendly sisters and their nice dad, will help all the time. Hotel is very clean and beautiful, everything is available. Breakfast is good, but the coffee it's even better. :) Thank you for all!
Breakfast can change or differ every second day, maybe some eggs, fresh orange juice, another cold cuts. But it was very good. Thank you!
a very chillax place ;-)
Located in a nice city Room pretty nice Good tasting breakfast Mostly nice employes
One of the employes very unfriendly Stressful little breakfast room Kitchen had only a minibar instead of a refrigarator
Located in the heart of this lovely little town between sea and mountains, called Castellamare del golfo, Le zagare gave us a top experience! Very nice and helpful staff that gave us much advice about what to see and where to go. Modern, clean and convenient facilities. Breakfast buffé with more choice than most b&bs in Italy, small kitchen in the room where you can prepare your own meal and a roof terrace to enjoy in the evening.
Our room was one of the two that are on street level, so ear plugs are recommended in order to sleep at night (even though it is not at all a trafficked street at night!)
