“So close to the Vatican. Terrace was amazing at night! Waiter, breakfast staff and room staff were extremely nice!! Price was excellent!”

Offering panoramic views of Saint Peter's Square from its rooftop terrace, Residenza Paolo VI is actually a former monastery. It is located next to the Vatican walls in the heart of Rome. Rooms have a classic design with tiled or hardwood floors and elegant rugs. All air conditioned, they also feature an LCD TV with satellite channels and free Wi-Fi. Each one has a private bathroom with hairdryer. Breakfast at Paolo VI is a large American buffet that is available until 10:30 am. Drinks and snacks can be enjoyed up on the terrace, which has a bar service until midnight. This has great views of the Apostolic Palace, the Pope's official residence, where an address is given every Sunday. The Residenza is a 5 minute walk from the Tiber River and Castel Sant'Angelo. It has excellent bus and metro services around Rome, with the 40 Express bus stopping nearby. Hotel Rooms: 35 Most recent booking for this hotel was today at 08:54 from Oman.

The location is excellent, right by the Vatican, not far from a metro station and close to a taxi station as well. The staff were very nice and very helpful. Breakfast was good, american style buffet. The hotel is neat, extremely clean and quiet. The airco worked very well. As a bonus there is a lovely terasse on the 2nd floor that can be used at any time of the day until midnight ( bar service is only from 16:00 to midnight). Sunday morning we sat out on the terrasse and could hear the choir from the Vatican singing, it was really special ! The standard room + bathroom were impeccable but on the negative side (see the section below) rather small. We really liked the hotel but have to say that we were surprised by how small the room was, even if I had read it from other travelers. We had a standard room, it was tiny and so was the bathroom. We paid 189€ per night for that tiny room so I would say that the ratio value for money was not so good. I would still recommend this hotel but my advice would be to book only it if the rate was reasonable (E.G. around130€) considering for the size of the standard room & bathroom.

The location was excellent; the terrace in the picture only part belonged to the hotel so the main terrace was not available to guests to maximise photos of the Vatican and were off limits. That being said the view was the best ever and the staffs were very friendly. Would recommend this hotel it ticks all the boxes if you are visiting Rome. I will definitely be going back.

I enjoyed the location and how close we were to St. Peter's Square. The staff were kind and the service was great. Breakfast was very enjoyable. The price we paid for a 3 night stay was a good deal. Nothing Significant.

The hotel was perfectly located for our stay in Rome. Directly across from the Vatican, and within walking distance of the metro to accommodate our trips to the other historic sites, The Spanish Steps, The Trevvi fountain, The Pantheon etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the american style buffet breakfast was delicious. Our double room was very comfortable and clean, and the inclusion of a very reasonably priced mini-bar in the room was a welcome addition. A perfect location for young or mature couples for a weekend or city break.

Main idea was trip to Vatican city and area around. That is the most best location if you have the same task. You need just cross only one street to appear on St.Peter sq. Rooms are veeeeeeeeery small and atmosphere like in monastery. Hotel have the world smallest elevator :)) Tips for travellers: 1. Taxi from Termini to hotel cost us €15 plus €2 as a tips cos we get a very funny driver. 2. Room wifi is only for one device, so try to use other room wifi to be online, like login: 211, pass: paolovi211, try 212, 213 etc :))

Residenza Paolo VI is extremely well located, just outside St. Peter's Square. The staff was very friendly, and the place itself was spotless. Our room was relatively small for 3 people, but we only went there to sleep, so we functioned fine. The terrace on the rooftop had a great view, and in the morning, the included breakfast was really good. We very much enjoyed our stay while here.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, wonderful staff and fantastic location. When we arrived, we were informed that the hotel had upgraded our room to a bigger room with a view of the Vatican. We were surprised but pleased. The bed was harder than I'm accustomed to, but we survived.

Will return to the Residenza Paolo VI without hesitation !Staff and service was excellent, polite and friendly at all times . The triple room suited the three of us and we had no problem with space .Our visit was a gift to my Mother on her 80 th Birthday ,she loved everything about the hotel and it really does sit right on the doorstep of the Basilica, which was so important to her ,it really is a location location hotel .Breakfast was abundant with plenty of choice and a beautiful dining room .This hotel was exactly what was advertised on booking .com ,and yes the pictures are exactly the same in real life ! I would be amazed if anyone going there did not enjoy their stay in this beautiful tranquil little gem in the heart of the Vatican City . Would love to have a more varied dinner menu at night ,even though there a restaurants locally ,after a day of sight seeing it was lovely to sit with a bottle of wine and sit on the veranda looking out at the Bascillica ,then make your way to bed .Not a complaint , just to complete the wish list for us personally !!

Perfect location for Basilica St. Peters and Vatican. Small, unhurried, casual, friendly, family atmosphere. We were a family of seven occupying 4 rooms. Everyone felt positive on the location. The rooms we had were small, but they do have junior suites which are larger. When we travel room size is not important. As long as the room is clean and quiet, adequate privacy achieved, the electricity, heater and air conditioning function, bathrooms are clean, staff is helpful and location affords ready accessibility to sites and is not outrageously priced then all our needs are met. The Residenza Paolo vi fulfilled these requirements.

Deluxe double room was quiet and away from the road as it led to a interior courtyard. Furnishings were luxury and comfortable The standard Double Room we had booked was very small and we could hardly move so we upgraded to a deluxe double. The price for both the standard double and deluxe double was very expensive for what it was.

The location was excellent for our visit to Rome as it is very close to the Vatican. It is very easy to find as it can be seen from St Peter's Square. The staff were exceedingly helpful and very friendly. Beds were very comfortable. Food was excellent. We felt very safe at this hotel and would be delighted to stay there again. I had travel plans to visit Naples, but there was a change of plans. The staff was excellent in helping me stay in a nicer room and allowed me to view the room with my fiancee. We both loved the room and decided to stay an extra night. We both were very pleased with Sabrina how she helped us according to our needs. She offered suggestions on where to visit. Sabrina also booked our tickets to visit the Vatican and printed them out for us. It was a great pleasure staying at your hotel. Sabrina was a big part of that reason too. The morning breakfast could have had different items to eat per day. Or could have a little more variety.

This hotel is extremely close to the Vatican and St Peter's is literally across the road. The view from the terrace is phenomenal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very approachable! The room was very small, but we were hardly there so it didn't matter at all!! The terrace is also small but the view made up for that. It would be nice to be able to utilise the whole of the terrace but it is fenced off.

This Hotel is the best on all aspects, food, service, location etc. If I will come back to Rome I will definitely take this Hotel again. They have friendly staffs and receptionists. I will rate this Hotel 10/10...I really loved the balcony where you can eat and drink while looking at St.Peter's Cathedral. It is close to Restaurants, specially Chinese Rest..The Small double room that we rented was enough for me, my wife and 2 yr.old baby..I asked for extra pillows and they gave me quickly. I suggest to all of you to take this Hotel. The waiter at the bar was also friendly, he introduced me to their local redwine, and it tastes so great...

The location to visit Vayican is perfect, great terrace, friendly and helpful stuff. The only negative experience is that they offer the services of the worst tour operator in Rome, Carrani Tours, disgrace for the Rome tour industry.
