Residenza San Leo  

The location of the hotel is great, just in the middle of small towns of the italian Toscana. We booked there because we wanted to visit Firenze and Siena (40 minutes by car). We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the place very much, taking advantage to walk in the surroundings, and enjoying the clean air of the place. In order to go to Firenze we decided to avoid the AutoStrade (we took the autostrada regional), so that being able to see the typical sights of the movies inspired in the Toscana (as Chocolate, with Juliette Binoche)

Maybe the only thing we did not like so much was the price of the food. First night we had dinner there, and I must say everything was fine (including the service of Patrizia, the person who run the place). It cost us 50 euros (we took only first plate, not like the Italian style of eating first and second. The complete meal would have cost 60 euros). Even though we liked the quality of the food, we thought it was a little expensive (in other places of Europe, like Nice or Barcelona, we managed to eat in good places for less than 45 euros). The second night we decided to eat in the city (Firenze), and eating in a fancy restaurant, we payed exactly the same, including tip).

Our cottage was wonderful and a joy to stay at. Patricia was a great host and gave us lots of helpful information. The farm is in a beautiful setting and has a relaxed feel to it. We really enjoyed our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our all-too-short stay at Residenza San Leo. The apartment was spotless and charming, with plenty of room and beautiful views over the lovely farm and olive groves and surrounding countryside. The dinner was outstanding: everything fresh and from scratch, with farm-made sausages and other pork products, vegetables fresh from the garden (that very day, I suspect, from the taste), bread made in their own bread oven, local wine, and olive oil produced on-site. The meal reminded us that Italy was, after all, the country in which the Slow Food revolution began.

San Leo is a real nice place to stay if you are going to Toscany and want to be close to many cities and wine fields. Both we and the children loved it. We saw all the fantastic olive trees and the honey production at the farm. All the served food is from the farms own production. The place is authentic and Patricia is a good host - and she speaks several languages which as a foreigner in Italy is a great help. We would recommend this to anyone and consider going back ourselves.

This was the perfect place to be, if you wanted to feel Italian rural life. A slightly castle-like farmhouse, with their own farming products, lovely environment and a nice and clean apartment to live in. Well-equipped kitchen. We also got a lovely farm meal from the landlord with very short notice. A perfectly lovely place, with enthusiastic staff.

Beware that the driving distances to food shops and restaurants are rather long.

great location, amazing chianty view, patricia the landlord was very helpful and pleasent, we stayed at the limonina cottage which was beautiful and practical, very easy to find and reach from the autostrada, large garden, kitchen is well equiped, karge supermarkets and mall very near

third bed at the limonina was not comfortable for an adult

מקום יפהפה, חווה עתיקה עם דירות בגדלים שונים משופצות בטוב טעם. קיבלנו יחס חם מפרנצ'סקה בעלת הבית. ניתן לקנות במקום מצרכים המיוצרים בחווה. המטבחון בדירה מאובזר : יש מדיח, מיקרו, כיריים (חבל שאין סבון כלים). הארוחות מוגשות בבית בד שהוסב לחדר אוכל-מאוד מעניין. ישנה בריכת שחיה במקום אך היינו בתחילת האביב, כך שהבריכה לא פעלה.

Odlična lokacija z enkratnimi razgledi in izhodiščem za odkrivanje osrednje Toskane! Prostorni apartmaji, lastna proizvodnja oljčnega olja, medu in suhomesnatih izdelkov. Prostor za zaključene družbe in celo organizacijo porok. V toplejših mesecih možnost koriščenja bazena sredi oljčnega nasada. Res idilično!

Het is een gezellige verbouwde boerderij met appartementen. Ontbijt en diner is op afspraak te verkrijgen. Ontbijt is zeer eenvoudig van opzet, maar voorzien van verse producten, deels uit eigen productie. Op de boerderij wordt actief honing en olijfolie geproduceerd (ze hebben zelfs prijzen gewonnen). Op aanvraag krijg je een interessante rondleiding meteen uitgebreide uitleg over de olie en honingproductie. De accommodatie voorziet niet in een bar, het zijn echt appartementen. Gastvrijheid is top!! Fantastisch gelegen in de heuvels van Toscane, midden in de Chiantistreek. in 40 minuten in Florence, 60 minuten in lucca.
