Residenza Torre Colonna  

What did I not like!!! This boutique hotel was amazing. I am definitely much more accustomed to the big fancy American chains (Marriott, Hilton etc.) but this place was perfect. Our room was incredibly large for European standards with a table and chairs and a sofa which was used and an extremely comfortable 3rd bed. The room was even equipped with a computer which we loved. This hotel is small, but that adds to the charm. There is a lift, however, I enjoyed taking the spiral staircase. The terrace at the top where Ivan made breakfast had stunning views of the colosseum and Capitoline Hill. The staff was amazing. Sara who is originally from Scotland was extremely accommodating and helpful. Ivan and Marilyn (originally from Philippines) were also so gracious as well as Igor. Ivan made the best fresh squeezed blood orange juice ever! The location was also ideal. We walked everywhere (and I was with my 70 year old mom), including the Vatican, Colesseum, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Piazza Navonna to name a few. The hotel is tucked away on a small street, but so convenient to everything. When booking, my biggest concern was location and modern bathroom and without hesitation, I would stay here again.

Very well situated for most of the sights, views from the rooftop are amazing. The staff could not have been more helpful and obliging. Excellent breakfast wth freshly squeezed orange juice and a good choice of cereals, meats, cheeses, cakes, breads, fruits, etc. etc.

The slightly quirky nature of the building might not appeal to all, but we loved it !

Central location close to Colosseum and within walking distance of Rome Termini.

great location, great very attentive service you really feel like you're at home. Place is a real gem, can't imagine there would be nicer places to stay at in Rome. Great value for money. Very good breakfast too!

I liked everything about Torre Colonna!! I have nothing to say but good/great things about this wonderful hotel!!! We will definitely stay here every time we visit Rome from now on. The owner is remarkable and all of her employees are as amazing as she is!!! I highly recommend this wonderful place to stay, and I send my thanks to all of them!!!! Thanks for the breakfasts...Alvin!!! I hate to rate it so high because we might have trouble getting a room next visit!!! Stay there if you can...you will not be disappointed in any way! I have nothing to say that would be negative about this wonderful place!!!

The building is magnificent, with stone floored bedrooms, four poster beds and huge bathrooms with spa showers, The view from the roof garden is worthy of a postcard (and was recently used for a prestigious advertising shoot) but there are only 5 rooms and so the staff really look after you and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is copious and fresh and the location is just off the Piazza Venezia so central for all the sights.

Its central location. The magnificent views over the ancient city of Rome from the rooftop. The hearty breakfast. Comfortable bed and roomy apartment. Excellent staff, very attentive and friendly.

Sarah, Igor and Alvin were the perfect hosts. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Residenza Torre Colonna and we will not hesitate making a return visit. The decor throughout the residence was to our liking and the overall ambience of the accommodation was both welcoming and refreshing. The relaxed informal breakfast coupled with our extremely helpful hosts made our stay in Rome all the more memorable. Location is super, located just around the corner from the excellent Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini museum, and in easy reach by foot of all the main attractions the Residenza Torre Colonna is definitely well situated. Thanks again to all for making our stay enjoyable, stress free and memorable.

Nothing, oh actually some curtains in our third floor room bathroom would have been nice, although I am sure nobody could see in...I hope.

The hotel is in an excellent position in the city, close to both the Trevi Fountain and Colosseum. The rooftop garden offers a panoramic view of the city. The breakfast is excellent and the staff extremely helpful. Basically all you could ask of a b & b in a really interesting setting!

More of a suggestion really - an evening bar would be welcome!

The staff are outstanding - the welcoming Igor, the ever-smiling Alvin and the personable Sarah make Residenza Torre Colonna the place to stay in ancient Rome. Its unique location makes it the ideal accommodation for tourists to the eternal city. Plus the breakfasts were the best we encountered in our three week tour of Italy. We would definitely stay here again!

What is there not to like. Location, staff, facilities all excellent would go back without hesitation.

This is a truly great hotel. Just five minutes walk from the Trevi Fountain. Very unusual with a room on each floor and a superb view from the rooftop jacuzzi over the City. Very comfortable rooms with very little traffic noise for a city location. The breakfast was excellent with freshly squeezed Orange Juice and best of all - Alvin - Who looked after us so well and was utterly charming. We will return.

Residenza Torre Colonna was an amazing place to stay! Sarah, Alvin and Igor were very helpful and made sure our stay was fantastic. The inside architectural design and decor was charming. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable for a family of 4. The breakfast was the best we had while in Italy. The Torre is located in the perfect location and was within walking distance to all of the major attractions except the Vatican. We walked everywhere. The jacuzzi on the roof was a special treat. We would retreat to the jacuzzi every evening to relax after a day of walking and would soak in the enchanting view of the city. I don't think there is another location where you could relax and see the Colosseum, the Forum, Trajan Market, Vittorio Emanuele Monument, Pantheon, and St Peter's all at once.

The Residenza Torre Colonna is ideally situated near the forum. The hotel is full of character, comfortable and the service is excellent. The view from the terrace is absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed having a drink there after an evening out. Highly recommended !

Boutique hotel with 5 rooms. Made to feel very welcome by staff, Sarah, Alvin, Igor. Clean excellent room with marble tub. Hot tub on roof with tables to sit late at night. Walking distance to Colesseum, Trevi, Spanish steps and much more. 15 minutes to Termini station.

It was a unique setting in a great part of the city. Best breakfast in Italy. I would go back in a heartbeat. Staff very helpful and friendly. If you like a unique setting, this is it.

The hotel was fabulous, but our taxi driver didn't know where it was. It would be great if the hotel would give a better description of their location.

Fantastic. Love the fact that it's a very small exclusive hotel. The breakfast is a great way to start the day and a glass of wine or soak in the rooftop hot tub a great way to round it off.

It was the personal touch that made it so special. The staff - Alvin & Igor & owner Sarah were very helpful and friendly. Staying in a tower was indeed an experience, the interior was very modern and tasteful. The location was excellent and we walked everywhere - to Trevi fountain, Coliseum,Vatican etc.

Beautifully designed, small venue. More like a b&B. I wish I had the shower at home. Wonderful roof top garden.
