Residenza CannaregioCannaregio 3210/a - Calle Dei Riformati, Cannaregio, 30121 Venice (Show map) Very good, Score from 305 reviewsWith a quiet location in Venice's Jewish Quarter, Cannaregio is far from the crowds. A former monastery, its cloister is now a pretty courtyard and garden where breakfast is served. Residenza Cannaregio is surrounded by workshops, book stores, and local markets. San Alvise Vaporetto (water bus) stop is nearby, providing quick links around Venice. Rooms combine original features such as wood-beamed ceilings with modern amenities like air conditioning and internet access. Each room features minibar and a TV with satellite and pay-per-view channels. A varied breakfast is available each morning and the bar provides drinks throughout the day. The staff can recommend the best local restaurants for dinner. Hotel Rooms: 39

The family room had a ceiling with wooden beams and two levels connected with a staircase. My children loved it. Speakers in different parts of the room amplified music played on the television set - lovely and romantic. There is a small selection of popular CDs on the tv menu. Nice and peaceful as compared to the rest of Venice - especially during the summer peak season when there are crowds everywhere - at the same time within reach of Venice's main city areas. Good breakfast Wifi is not free as advertised. Something more should be done about the mosquitoes. I recommend you take a taxi boat from the airport to get here first time. We got lost trying to find the place over the many bridges and narrow lanes.

The staff were fantastic. They spoke English which made it very easy for us. They gave us great tips for places to eat and see. They booked water taxis for us. The bar was open until late and the bar staff were great too. The hotel is in a quiet area which was nice...not too close to the noisy restaurant hub of Venice but only a 15-minute walk away. The room was modern and stylish and great value for money.

This was our first visit to Venice and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel was beautiful inside, very well looked after and the staff could not be more helpful. You need to do your home work before you go to venice as finding your way around to start with can be a little taxing. The hotel is very easy to find from the water bus. The breakfast in the hotel was great. The hotel is about a 25minute walk from St Marks square, which we found good as we liked the walking and down the picturess roads and small walk ways. Depending on your age and mobilty depends on if you want to stay here for access to the main areas. We would definately recomend this hotel should anyone wish to visit Venice. *****

The staff at the Cannaregio were extremely helpful and the accommodations were very clean, quiet and comfortable. It is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood away from touristy areas so you are not in the heart of Venice activity. Not necessarily bad, as you can catch a "bus" (boat) nearby, a private boat taxi or put on your walking shoes, but the location is something to be aware of if you'd rather be in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Venice. We chose it to be within walking distance of the train station and it was a good choice for us.

We received a very warm welcome on arrival and all of the staff were extremely helpful and courteous throughout our stay. The rooms were spacious and the breakfasts were delicious. We were a group of 3 adults and 3 children and we were all catered for equally. The hotel is a good distance from the centre of town, and it gives one the opportunity to experience so much more of Venice. The restaurants nearby as recommended by the hotel were great value for money and the food was delicious. We will definitely stay there again.

Excellent helpful staff. Very old interiors and room furniture. Think 1970s. This is such a pity as the building is beautiful. Breakfast not great either.

Staff were amicable and friendly following a dispute about the lack of restaurant. Please see notes as i would like a reply. The hotel is advertised on this website as having a retaurant. We travelled with a 10 year old, who gets tired in the evening, and we specifically look for a hotel with a restaurant so we do not have to go out to eat in the evenings. When we arrived, we were told it had been closed for a year. We were very upset as this was whi we chose this hotel. The price reflected this convenience, without this feature i feel it was expensive and we would not have book.

We rated this hotel as a 4 stars although it is a 3 star hotel. Rooms were beautiful, new, clean and super big with a mezzanine. Hotel staffs were super friendly and hotel reception is grand (trendy). Will definitely go back to this hotel. Highly recommended. You need to walk for 10 to 20mins to the Water bus stop "transportation". Good for us, as our kids are teens. Not so suitable for family with elderly parents in their 60s and above.

The location was near the Jewish Ghetto area which was less touristy and had some really interesting little wine bars and restaurants we locals hang out. It was also close to a vaporetto stop so we could just catch the vaporetto anywhere we wanted to go. The main reception staff (one in particular) was extremely rude and dismissive of our complaint of the initial room we were given. The photos on booking.com do not accurately reflect the size of the room we booked (split level room to sleep 2 down stairs and 2 upstairs). We were initially given a single level room with four beds in a row and no space for anything else. Then we were swapped to a tiny split level room that had the same amount of space as the 1st. Only after quite a heated discussed we were given an upgrade to a bigger room. When I suggested that if you live on the other side of the world and photos are the only was to really choose what accommodation to book I was told that the photos were not important and you can;t judge things by what you see in the photos!

The staff were so helpful from the minute we walked in the door. They immediately pulled out a map and explained the best way to get around and what to see in our limited time in Venice. Breakfast was as good as any I have seen in a 5 star hotel.

We loved this hotel. It was in a quiet location in Venice, and only a 20 min walk to the station. We were given a upgrade when we arrived, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious with loads of character. The reception staff were excellent, spoke good English, and very helpful. The lighting was a little dim, and this is not isolated to this hotel.

Perfect location in one of the few truely residential neighbourhoods of Venice. The environment offers the atmosphere one wishes to taste when visiting this fabulous town whilst there are few tourists. The rooms (I had a double room) are nicely furnished and well-equiped, the hotel staff is friendly and helpful. It's a short walk to the railway station and also nearby one of the boat connections to the airport. Still the main attractions are not far. Don't know the prices in the high season, but in November the value for money is absolutely excellent, given the average room prices in Venice.

It had a family room and excellent breakfast with very helpful staff in the breakfast room (our children had allergies) Our rom was a bit dark even with all lights on. The website said that toys would be provided but there weren't any. The telelvsion was very difficult to work out and there was no telephone to ring reception and ask for advice.

The room was great. We were actually upgraded (for free) to a 2 floor loft-style suite. The room was comfortable and quiet. The facility is clean, new-looking, and an easy walk to water-bus stops for all areas. There is a cozy bar to relax at, and an abundance of food and drink options nearby. No free Internet (but we knew this when booking) & the restaurant is only open seasonally for dinner. It was, however, open for (free/included) very nice breakfast.

Good location in an interesting and quiet part of Venice that is convenient for the station and particularly for the bus from the airport. It was simply furnished, but the rooms were modern and spacious, with the charm of an old building, complete with beautiful old roof-beams. There was a pleasant bar, and the free glass of prosecco on arrival was a very welcome touch The bedding could be improved- the pillow was hard and lumpy and a duvet rather than sheets and blankets would be more attractive and comfortable. My shower was a bit on the weak side. But overall I was very happy with the hotel as it was great value, and I would go again

Fabulous location. Some of the staff were wonderful and some weren't so great. Free wifi in the lobby was great. The hotel was a bit dated and the staff varied in helpfulness depending on who you got at the front desk. There was very little hot water when I had a shower at 9am.
