Pictures of the room did not match what I wanted
Upgraded our room for free. Great staff.
The bathroom is a bit dingy and the shower leaks profusely.
Clean, large room with friendly staff. Of the beaten tourist tracks.
Noise-isolation of the rooms not optimal.
The guy on the reception was very kind, he helps us very much. Explained how to go to airport, called taxi. Was really take caring of us.
Friendly staff, clean and attractive rooms. Quiet location which is tucked away. Close to some excellent bars and restaurants.
Hard to find. Booking.com directions have the hotel in the wrong location.
Good local restaurants. Could access the sights via foot or Vaporetto. Breakfast had many options. High quality toiletries, the body milk felt amazing.
The room was extremely dark even with all the lights on.
Quiet location, great staff, clean, excellent room.
An option for breakfast to be included would have been nice, breakfast was a little high priced.
Good position (near the station)
The only good point is the location (quiet and near the train station). But please consider: I ask for some food without gluten at breakfast (for my girlfriend, she is celiac), the receptionist says "yes, of course" but NOTHING was for her at breakfast. Air conditioned starts every time you go out of the room and the heaters didn't work. Walls of the rooms are VERY thin so you can hear people in the other rooms (let's try to sleep...), nothing was in the bathroom to clean the (disgusting) and in the end: the payment system with credit card didn't works so I had to pay directly with cash at the check out. My opinion is that this is NOT service for a 4 stars, and I'm very disappointed.
it is a nice hotel in a quite area near to the vapuretto but far away from san marco, rooms are quite good for venice staff helpfull
far away from san marco, bar does not work on day time
The location of the hotel is excellent, away from the very busy San Marco. There were good shops in the area, less expensive. Very good restaurants. Although we did not get to see too many churches and museums there are a few around the area. It is not far from anywhere you want to go. Breakfast was good. Best employee is the young man serving in the bar, very pleasant and helpful. The young lady at the reception was also very pleasant and helpful.
Our room was disappointing. It was the room with a canal view on the ground floor. Unfortunately the room had a disabled bathroom which has no shower enclosure, the tile floor was extremely slippery and dangerous which caused me to slip and damage my knee. This limited my enjoyment of my time in Venice. However the bartender and the lady at reception were helpful in getting large quantities of Ice for my knee. The room was also extremely noisy.
- v. good location if you want to stay away from most crowded parts of the city
- furniture and bathroom should be refreshed - freezing aircondition
Look and feel of hotel was nice. Breakfast and service was also good.
No hot water in the first room( luke warm water) beds not bad but needs more pillows and a comforter. Location was a little further out than expected.
In a remote quite place not far from transport and friendly staff.
Lights not bright enough, very hard to read at night, breakfast should start earlier than 0730 and no english news channel.
Great location, closely situated to the train station, the water stop to Murano, as well as the Jewish quarter, everything within a quiet neighbourhood with nice little pubs and restaurants nearby, frequented also by the locals. Not to forget the beautiful Church of Madonna dell'Orto just a few minutes away. We also enjoyed the beautiful courtyard of the hotel. Breakfast has been fine with a range of food to choose from, including crunchy musli and cornflakes. Only the coffee seemed below (Italian!) standard, but there were different kinds of tea on offer, as well as juices. The staff has been very nice, in general, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Free wi-fi access in the hotel room. The mattresses were fine. The hotel being a former convent, the quiet, slightly ascetic atmosphere has been preserved and combined with the basics of what makes a great place to stay in.
In general, it's a very nice hotel. We would recommend the management and staff to keep an eye on regular maintenance work, though. There were a few minor things that could be easily fixed, but that might attract some criticism from hotel guests with a more demanding attitude. First of all, we have not been asked if we are fine with sleeping under some slim sheets only. This may be a custom in Italian hotels, but the nights were actually a little chilly and we couldn't find an extra blanket in the room. I'm sure the staff could have helped us out, if we had approached them the other day, but, really, they should be taking care of extra blankets, or offering them to guests, in the first place. In the bathroom, there was a gap between the tub and the screen, so any time we used the shower, a part of the bathroom got flooded. No big drama, but a different construction would simply avoid this kind of problem. The showerhead was leaking. Regular maintenance would ensure the ideal condition of the facilities. Next, there were a few general problems with some of the technical facilities that need to be re-thought, perhaps. Lack of a functioning ventilation in the toilet, which was also lacking a sink (only equipped with a bidet). Which is mostly a problem when someone uses the bathroom at the same time. Noisy air-conditioning in the room (we turned it off, but on a hot day it might be a problem). Surprisingly, lack of a wardrobe for clothes. There were just a few shelves. The coat hangers were attached at a high level, rather not suitable for smaller people. The lighting of the room was not ideal (too dark), confusing switches, lack of bright lamps, especially no nice lamps for reading in bed. General lack of wall sockets. We could only find one in the room, plus another one slightly hidden in the corridor.
Breakfast was good
We booked a room that was listed for a price of 900 euros with an 82% discount! We thought we had a great deal at a four stars hotel in Venice. The reality was a hotel that would barely deserve three stars, and a room that was indeed worth 100 euros max. In other words, the huge discount was a trap, and this should not be allowed to happen
Location, although not in the middle of all the touristy places still within easy distance and probably a good thing considering visiting in Summer. It also meant we got to see the real Venice children, locals etc. Close to transport including train station. We were upgraded to a lovely and very spacious room overlooking a back canal with a mezzanine level. Breakfast Okay. Bar staff friendly. Wanted to stay longer.
few staff friendly
no connection room for children breakfast was not sufficient air conditioning we have to tell them to switch on/off shower not enough water force
The staff at the front desk was excellent. She smiled all the way through our family up and downs searching for our booking confusion. She was patient and relaxed. The breakfast was yummo!! The hotel was very clean and the fact they had their own personal dock was excellent.
Nothing really, wish it was closer to a water taxi stand other than their private one. Guess, I was just lazy to walk with boxes 'cause it was just 5 mins away.
Drawn by excellent prices and good reviews we felt it may be too far out of the way. It isn't. The Vaporetto is 5 mins away, the rooms are good, the breakfasts are fine and it is easy to find. A great supermarket is a few minutes away. The area is livelier during the day and at night than first you think. Try the Trattoria Pontini and the Grand Canal is 15 mins. Murano is 15 mins and well worth 2 trips, stay on after Faro to really see the island.
Place, price, breakfast, beautiful rooms. I stayed years ago and I liked, so went back. And very probably would repeat in case a trip to Venice
Air conditioning switch-off didn't work A break in the water supply of the WC, quickly repaired but broke again.
Stayed for seven nights, found staff to be very pleasant and helpful. Good selection of food for breakfast. Would select this hotel again.
Wonderful, quiet location away from the tourists with plenty of local cafes if you don't have the breakfast option. Unusual mezzanine room gave us and our teenage son sharing with us a bit of privacy. Staff very friendly and helpful, bathroom and room very clean.
The springs on the sofa bed were rather saggy. The rooms are not very soundproof so not great for light sleepers or if you have a noisy neighbour.
1. staff very accommodating 2. room size good 3. bed size good
1. the breakfast room had no space 2. breakfast selection very bad 3. the carpet had stains(bleach maybe?) in the room and hallway 4. 2 rooms had strong bad odor 5. the furniture abused 6. in the shower there was water leak stains 7. there was mildew around the shower edges 8. outside there was no sign so we passed the hotel 9. you have to pass a shady bar...where there are drunks outside..on the way to the hotel. people sitting all over the place drunk.
