Residenza Castiglioni  

We had a triple room which was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated.The location was great, near train station but not in a congested area.We thiroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

A building full of history and frescos on the ceilings. Good location from train station and proximity to city and major tourist attractions. Great breakast and friendly staff.

The bathroom needed refurbishing.

After our bad first night (see bad points..), we were moved for our second night to another room. It was in the same building, but we think was actually a room at Allora b&b, a separate business. This room was great, really nice and clean and large, although just a standard room. However, imoirtant to note that this was a room at Allora, not Residenza Castiglioni!!

On arrival we were told we'd been upgraded to a suite. Sounded fantastic, but wasn'T. (We suspect this happened because they'd somehow got the bookings wrong). The "suite" was outside the rest of the hotel building, and we had to ring the doorbell to be let in for breakfast. The suite was an old and probably once grand room, but although large with a mezzanine (for the bed) it was the stuffiest room I've ever been in! I an attempt to be "baroque", it was overfilled with unecessary stuff - it looked like 10 Italian grandmas had died and donated their furniture and that it had then been put in without a cleaning! The bathroom smelled exceptionally bad - we ended up cleaning the ventilation and flushing the toilet with washingup liquid ourselves to make it bearable. The furniture was old and stuffy with dusty ribbons and cloths everywhere. There were ancient technical devices on display (why?), and we actually had to get quite drunk to bear spending the night in the room....Besides this, the wifi does not extend to the rooms, everyone sat in the reception to use it. Also, finding the hotel is v difficult, and the guy they sent out to meet us was rude. We had to park in a nearby garage - they charged us loads..

some staff can speak Italian only, a bit difficult to communicate in English. need improvement for the choices of the breakfast

The only good thing about this hotel is its convenient location. It is close to the station and other historical sites.

You should avoid this hotel unless the loud music and noise do not bother your sleep. The loud music outside continued until midnight. The windows are not good enough to block the noise. This place looks nice in the pictures, but is overdue for renovation. The bathroom is relatively good, but the overall impression is "old and spent". The lady at the reception did not speak a single word of English. If you do not understand Italian, you would be completely lost here!

Just 5 minutes walking from train station very kind personell, familiar style treatment, perfect position for city visit.

Poor breakfast

великолепный отель. номер даже лучше чем на фотографии. в номере чайник и все для чаепития: набор чая-кофе, мед. чашки естественно. а также бокалы для вина и штопор (что не маловажно!!). завтраки скромные, но качество продуктов замечательное: свежайшие йогурты в стеклянных баночках, конфитюр (домашний и фабричный), сыр и паштеты в упаковке, мюсли- хлопья, вареные яйца, чуть выпечки, сок, фрукты. отель расположен в самом центе: до дуомо пять минут пешком. на этой же улице несколько ресторанов и магазинов - соседняя дверь мини- супермаркет. рекомендую!!

Bem localizado e um atendimento extremamente gentil, amigável e solícito. Bom e variado café da manhã.

Peintures murales magnifiques, grandes et belles chambres, situation géographique parfaite, garage à proximité, très bon rapport qualité prix.

Aucune insonorisation, salle de douche spartiate.

Situation extra : 5 min a pied à peine de tous les monuments : nous avons tout visité à pied et cela était très agrèable! Le propriétaire parle très bien anglais français, et sait nous conseiller et nous aider si besoin. La résidence est très agréable avec un style florentin dans les chambres! Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

Un peu de bruit dans la rue mais franchement ce n'est pas grand chose.
