On the right bank of Rome's Tiber River, Hotel Sant'Angelo is in a historic building, just half a mile from the Spanish Steps. It offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with private bathrooms.
Score from 1406 reviews Very good

Score from 326 reviews Very good
Quiet, safe, huge towels, clean large bathroom. Close to transit and Vatican. Pretty good breakfast. good coffee. Staff were mostly helpful. It depended who was at the front desk.
Strong chemical smell in the room which was better by the 5th night. We were told it was from washing the carpets. They were damp on arrival. I smelled the same smell in H & M in Florence. Mini bar was warm. I was told it was just for keeping vegetables. I found a few days later that it was unplugged.
Friendly staff, very helpful, excellent location and price. We will book the same hotel again.
There was nothing to dislike.
Love the staff, room was very quite. A/C was poor but it could improve.
We were there in august. The air cons in both rooms were working. Wifi in one. Staying on the forth floor, it was quit. The rooms were worn down, but the Madrasses were new, everything clean and comfortable.
Missing a fridge
Good locations, very friendly staff especially two ladies whom make a breakfast
room wasn't really clean and u should do something about a smell I know u can't open windows but after a guest left u can give a room proper fresh air.
The hotel is fairly priced, it has a good location - waking distance and also near the metro. Breakfast was simple but enough. The staff were kind and willing to help.
There was nothing and enough to have a dislike. Sure the wall paper was dodgy but everything else was fine!
Nice location, near metro, so you're everywhere in Rome in a jiffy. A street lined with trees and not too much traffic. Friendly staff, clean rooms, cosy.
Breakfast has good coffee, but very little else.
Hotel is near to Metro and Bus station, also near by Vatican and old famous places.
I thought the housekeeping was well. The room was always clean.
The breakfast was terrible. The website suggests (and the receptionist told us) there is a continental breakfast, but it was only a sweet, not fresh croissant and packed toast crackers. There was no fresh juice, cheese, ham, eggs or anything else. Also, the receptionist was very rude and defensive when I asked him for a room with seperate beds. Appearently getting a discount on booking.com also means getting the smallest room ever. To me a discount is for rooms that haven't been booked yet to go on sale, but still being good rooms. The attitude of the receptionist when I asked him very politely was rude.
Easy to find, friendly staff, perfect location for walking and getting to climb St Peters cupola early.
Located in old apartment building along with other hotels, but nice residential area and tree lined street. Close to two subway stations and only 10 minute walk to Vatican City.
Small room even after we upgraded to a delux double. Another tiny shower with a curtain that meant it was impossible to shower without getting water outside curtain.
Excellent location. Walking along the River Tiber in the early morning and being able to be first to climb the Basilica Cupolla was a delight, as the hotel is so close to the Vatican. Staff friendly and obliging.
Location is excellent for visiting the Vatican and public transportation
Room a bit dark and WiFi connection slow
It was all so nice and pretty. Good breakfast.
I liked everything.
For the money we paid, we can say it was worth it. Not far from The Vatican City and not far from the metro station. Very near a good restaurant Tavola Calda. Overall very clean, comfortable and safe even though it has no safety deposit box.
Hotel do not have Wi-Fi available. Fridge did not work. Hair Dryer did not work.
Location, wifi, calm accomodation
Poor breakfast, reception forgot to order or airport transfer (but finally it has been solved by them)
I liked that the place was close to the Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica, and San Angelo castle and was 4 stops from Termini Station. It was also easy to find from Lepanto station(quite a short walk) The staff was helpful(Fabricio), internet was available at no charge.
I didn't like that the heater was not working and when we tried it produced awful smells and cold air. Also did not like that the place did not have an iron for pressing clothes.... and the vent for the bathroom did not work that well.
Location Location Location, a short walk from the Metro in a great area of bars and cafes. A short walk to the Vatican Museum / St Peters.
This is a pretty nice hotel to stay for a short period of time. In only ~100 euro your have a warm room in winter, breakfast at morning and clean room each day. Regarding to the place, it is much better than Center of Rome if you don't want to return to hotel through thousands of tourists.
Bathroom was very clean and the hotel has a excellent location
The breakfast was not so good!
The proprietor and staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially when one of our party became ill and we had to access medical attention. The hotel is very clean, quiet and in a good neighbourhood close to Vatican and St. Peters Square. There are lots of shops and restaurants within easy reach. Although rooms were on 4th floor, there is a lift and secure access to all parts of the hotel. We had both bath and shower and water always hot. Breakfast included in the rate was adequate, continental style. We had a very comfortable stay.
The location is great! Very close to the Vatican. Safe neighborhood.
The breakfast can be improved. It is always the same sweet set everyday (we stayed for 4 nights)
the staff was friendly, hotel was in the quiet neighbourhood
small leakage in the bathroom, though it was so tiny it didn't matter
The staff at the reception were always very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for a city trip to Rome.
The strange shower door construction which always flooded our bathroom floor. Make sure the door is in the correct position before turning on the shower.
