Chraming hotel, beautiful location, very friendly staff. Difficult to find it! If I had only printed off the address, and not the directions, I would never have found it! There is nothing visible from the street.

Lovely room, very spacious with an old world charm and beautiful exposed wooden beams. Great breakfast and a superb location right next to Il Campo. We were upgraded and the room was terrific value in their off season.

Central location, but surprisingly quiet Despite lifts up, a lot of stairs. Absolutely no frills or original features despite being a 'palazzo'

Room and facilities were good. A high standard of cleanliness. The bathroom was very small, although all necessary features were provided. I was travelling solo, and although there was a double bed in my room, it would have been very cramped for two people.

Hearing the bells in the morning from the Duomo and the Campanile. In the room was a two seater sofa as well as two chairs and a table which was lovely. Local tv station played the Palio which gave us a great feel of being in the city. The location was superb - being only 2 minutes walk from all the shops and restaurants near the Campo. The staff were very helpful when we arrived - helping carry our bags and explain the parking situation to us. We also liked the amphibian friend in our room on the first night - a cute salamander. Long walk from the car park - thank god for the escalator! To get to the hotel you have to go up 3 flights in a lift - not for the faint hearted. But it is wonderful to walk the 100 steps down to the street level in an old fashioned Palazzo. The room was so hot that we had to use the air con which was very noisy - the hotel did supply ear plugs which were appreciated. The breakfast room was cramped and the selection was limited - no prunes, or much bread selection. The bathroom was nice but the shower leaked across the floor quite badly. Adding up all the negatives, they still do not out weigh the cleanliness and the quaintness of the location and its city centre charms.

Hotel is in a great location, right in the heart of Siena. Room and bathroom were a good size. Breakfast was good, if not a little cramped. Hotel could have provided better information regards to car parking and subsequent walk to hotel. It's not the easiest hotel to find being on the 3d floor.

The location (once you got there); the comfort of the room; the finish of the room, the flowers. The breakfast was good, and the service made the morning bright. But above all, the location, just steps away from the Piazza. Being in the middle of the city, on the main shopping street, and above a popular pizza restaurant, it could occasionally be noisy at night (the hotel provided earplugs); if you are driving it is either expensive to park near the hotel (fairly near), or else a quite long walk from free parking spaces (about 15 minutes). But the location makes up for all that, if exploring Siena is your reason for staying there.

The staff was great and accommodating. It was located right in the middle of all activities. Very clean for an older building. The air conditioners were not adequate. Before arriving, we upgraded to Jr Suite...there was only 1 small ac for a huge cathedral type 2 room apt style place which was located on the top floor where the heat naturally was intense. Also, the tv kept shutting off and on. We requested another room, and they offered us a "standard double" which was fine. Ac and tv functioned properly in this room. This room is really nice for a couple.....Jr Suite should be for parties of 3 who need more room/beds as opposed to more ammenities/luxury

Top location, nothing better! I guess this is why the price was a bit high for what it was at the end. Big room, quiet - had a good sleep. Proper coffee at breakfast The AC was not powerful enough for such size room but as I was alone, was OK. No iron in the hotel, so bring one with you to avoid my frustration from the situation and stress

We have stayed here before several years ago, so we knew it already. The central position is brilliant and close to Il Campo and shops, sites, etc. The hotel is old, but has a rustic charm and is very clean and tidy. The staff went out of their way to help us organise a bus trip to San Giminagno and also with train timetables. They also upgraded us to a larger room with no extra charge. We would definitely stay there again if we were in Siena. The only criticisms we had were that the breakfast was very basic and we would have liked to see more fresh fruit available. Also, the shower was small and very dark as there was only a small light in the bathroom.

The hotel is at the top of an ancient palazzo just a stone's throw from the best side of the Campo in Siena. It is ideally situated for sightseeing, shopping and enjoying the famous Palio. It is small, quiet, comfortable and traditionally furnished with great charm. The owners and staff were most pleasant and helpful. This was the complete antithesis of the plastic and chrome chain. I wish I could carry it around with me on my various travels!

Room ambiance. Location Location Location. Unfortunately the pizza place next door is noisy some nights of the week and so you have to close the windows during the warm months, but it is really great that the hotel provides you with free ear plugs.

Some of the staff were really helpful and service minded. The location was truly unique. The breakfast was more of a "sweet cookie and toast with marmalade" type of breakfast. It would have been great with some eggs, omelette or other warm alternatives for foreign (i.e.non Italian) tourists.

Close location to city center Difficult to find if you don't have a gps. Room was too loud. Room was moderately overpriced for what it had to offer. Room a bit too small. Some staff were inflexible and not open to suggestions to improve our stay.
