right next to railway station. quiet room central heating too hot. not one energy saving light bulb in sight. breakfast boring:sweet fruitjuice, watery coffee etc. etc. |

The staff at Hotel Rex were cheerful and very helpful. The owner is a delightful man in his 90's who could not have made us feel more welcome. Hotel Rex is in an excellent location. The train station is a 2 minute walk away and there are frequent trains to Pisa and other destinations. Lucca is a lovely city and we were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. The breakfast provided was excellent. It was refreshing to stay in a hotel that provided tea making facilities in the room. We were happy with everything at Hotel Rex. |

Great location - just outside the railway station, and just outside the city walls. Very friendly and helpful staff, Good breakfast. The bathroom ewas fine except that the actual shower was very small - hard to turn around let alone wash yourself. |

The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and the room was very clean and comfortable.Although it is in a noisy street, we could not hear any noise from the outside when the windows were closed. |

I liked the convenience to the train station, as well as the view of the walls of Lucca. Everything was close and easiy walkable. Great continental breakfast. It was a little noisy, but that was understandable because of its great location. |

An excellent choice for visiting the charming and interesting city of Lucca. Easy to find and close to the station, for trips to Florence etc.. Helpful staff, generous breakfast buffet, and quiet room Our room was a little dark, but as it was at the back away from the noisy road this was not really a major negative |

The hotel was reasonably clean and the cold buffet breakfast was well stocked. Check in and out was efficient. Very close to city walls and train station. The lighting in the room was poor and the old electric switches were difficult to fathom. WiFi was only available in 30 minute slots and unavailable in the bedrooms. |

Very close to the railway station (1 minute's walk) and also close to old town Lucca (2 minutes' walk to the wall). Rooms are spacious. |

Well located for the train station, nice staff, the hotel was nice but could do with updating Rooms and bathroom a bit old-fashioned, especially for the price. Shower was a tiny cubicle. |

The atmosphere, the interior and the staff makes visiting this hotel an interesting and pleasant experience. An old style railway hotel with a lot of charm. Good location, within easy walking distance of the Lucca city center. |

it is very closed to the city center and the train station poor cleaning of the room, the room is very dark and overlooking the back side, average breakfast. In general it is not a hotel where you would spend more then a night. |

Pleasant family-run hotel with very friendly staff. The 92 year old owner always made an appearance at breakfast and was most kind to us! Nice variety at breakfast, tea/coffee facilities in room a plus! RIGHT beside train station (but no noise problem) and 2 mins walk to get to the walls of Lucca.....perfect! Beside a lovely gelateria which also make good coffee! Would stay here again defo. If anything, ornaments and decorations very dated....not that this was a problem! It didn't bother me....I'd still stay here again. |

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for exploring Lucca. We were able to park our car at the hotel and walk across the street to historic part of town. The shower was small. In addition, and the floor grate was wobbly, making it difficult to maintain my balance when in the shower. |

This is a great hotel - the staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent, even though it is right by the main station in Lucca it is very quiet. We had a lovely large and quiet room, and the breakfast was nice. |
