Hotel Rex  

Hotel right beside the station . It is a busy area but our room which was at the front was very quiet at night. Room very spacious and clean . The owners were very friendly and I would recommend this hotel for exploring Lucca as it is just beside the city walls . Wished we had stayed for 2 nights . You could even use this hotel as a base for Pisa which is only half an hour away by train . Go up the towers in Lucca for great views and eat in the little restaurants in the squares .

This is a very convenient hotel for jaunts into the walled city of Lucca as well as proximity to the train station. The personnel at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. They offer free bikes to ride inside the walls which was a big plus. The breakfast was very good with a good variety from which to choose. We would definitely stay here again.

The only thing I can think of--and it shouldn't reflect on the hotel at all--is that it is on a very busy street and can be noisy with the windows open.

The staff bend over backwards to help including advising on good restaurants for the late-night arrival. They give customers free bicycles for exploring the city. Breakfast is plentiful and well presented. There's a gelateria next door. Location's perfect for getting into Lucca and you can park at the hotel for free if you are driving.

No bath in our room, only a shower. Hotel pillows - bleah!

I have stayed here before. Good location right by the train station and near an entrance into the walled city of Lucca. Free parking. Quiet room. Good air-conditioning.

Internet did not work in the room.

We had a very good time at the hotel rex we will be back the city walls of lucca were wonderful to see

Very conveniens if you travel by train and reconnect to other city for day trip within that erea.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to both the town of Lucca (in which I would spend most of my time) and the railway station (for arrival/departure and day trips.) The location was great as the hotel is just outside the Lucca city wall. The hotel itself was neat, clean, comfortable, very quiet, efficiently run, with a good large breakfast with many choices on offer. Free wifi and bicycles to borrow.

Steps from the Train Station and within walking distance to the City of Lucca. The breakfast was very good, alot of variety.

The girl at the check-in desk took a phone call in the middle of our check-in and completely ignored us. She gave us a key and kept on talking, very rude ! The hotel was on the cross road of the main intersection and very noisy all night long. Motor Scooters, buses, cars, trucks, all changing gears and accelerating up the grade. Also, the hospital is close and we heard sirens and ambulances quite often. It did not matter if the windows were closed. The beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom was small and not very clean.

The service is good a family run hotel and very helpful staff espacially the lady who runs the hotel.It is clean good location both to the station and the city.We definetly would visit again.

Meget venligt personale der gjorde meget for at man skulle få et godt ophold. Centralt beliggende lige ved siden af Lucca Banegård.

Lidt trafikstøj fra gaden. Til gengæld hørte man ikke støj fra banegården.

Die günstige Lage am Bahnhof und doch in Nähe des Stadtzentrums.
