Very late the breakfast (8+). Hard and tall pillows.
We visited Catania twice. This has also been our second time staying Rigel Hotel and we like to stay at this hotel very much. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and professional. Their response was prompt. We use English to communicate and people with good English in Italy are not easily found. We have asked the hotel to book a taxi from Catania Airport to hotel and appreciate to have their re-confirmation on the booking one day prior to our arrival. The hotel is centrally located, 3 minute walk to the bus terminal. This is an ideal location as every day we need to go to the nearby town by bus. Even though the food variety of continental breakfast is limited, the food quality is extremely high, comparable to a 5-star hotel. The food refuel is timely and meat and food made of milk are placed in a small refrigerator to ensure food safety. Coffee is freshly brewed and of high quality. We feel awesome when having breakfast every morning. Highly recommend those who are going to Catania and need to take bus frequently stay at Rigel Hotel.
Excellent reception employ (from Mozambique), spoke English, very helpful provided the elementary information I needed about the city, Taormina and Syracuse.
Breakfast OK comparing with other low-middle price Italian hotels, coffee was served by a lady at the bar who in my case forgot twice to make the coffee in the 3 days I stayed there. Room at the front of the hotel had a tiny window very low at the wall, the room was dark at the day… Dirty shower, a cord supposedly used to ring a bell was stuck at the wall and covered with mold. Mold all over. Slabs of wood at the wall were loose and dangerous. Dust on furniture. Staff indifferent, speaking only Italian… (I speak four European languages and couldn’t communicate), with the exception mentioned before.
Very close to train and busses stations but city center is more than 25 minutes walking.
wi-fi very bad. An irritating noise every day from 05.00 am. Dishes and cutlery with food residues.
I chose this hotel for it's location mainly but also for it's standard and up-keep as read on reviews. As soon as we arrived we were given a nice welcome from receptionist on duty. Our first impression was the cleanliness of this hotel. It is spotless!!! I would undoubtedly recommend Rigel Hotel to anyone seeking a one minute walk to bus station, a short walk to town center and close range bars and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again even for longer stays. Thanks and Regards Charles from Malta
There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Well done!
Breakfast- good variety of food
If Breakfast can be served earlier
Good Wi Fi. Staff are helpful as we encountered a problem of air conditioner, he did try everything to make it functioning better. Location is about 20 minutes to tourist attractions. I would come back again.
Almost surprisingly good hotel, in all respects.
Excellent location for rail and especially bus travelers (bus terminal just across the street), however the city center and main sights are rather far away and not so friendly to be reached by foot. City buses should be recommended (this is more of an advice, not a critic).
A great hotel, good service. Rigel booking a hotel, definitely be happy.
close to Catania railway station, 24/7 front desk
Wi-Fi not very reliable cutting out during use.
An absolute little oasis in Sicily. A lovely room and great staff. AND the wifi actually works, and works well!! Very convenient for buses and trains.
Couldn't fault it.
Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable and staff were pleasant and helpful. We only stayed one night on our way to the airport, so the location to get out of Catania was perfect as we did not have to battle the early morning city centre traffic and we got to the airport in 15 mins. Breakfast was continental, with a good choice of fresh pastries.
If we had stayed longer the location would have been an issue as the centre (Via Etnea etc) is a good 25 mins walk away.
the breakfast, though it was standard, was very good and always fresh. a very good variety to choose from, for breakfast. the staff where very gentle and easy to talk to.
internet connection wasn't always good. not always had good connection in the room. the tv stations weren't so good either.
Nice and clean. Everything was good. Thank you.
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Rigel. The staff was exceptionally professional and really treated me well!!! It has a great breakfast and the room was wonderful!! Good location if you are using the train or bus. I should have stayed longer!
The location near the bus terminal and the rail station, 24-h desk, nice and clean room, friendly staff. The best solution for overnight for traveling in Sicilia.
The artistic style both in the rooms and the courtyard. Having an outside area to relax and have breakfast. The breakfast. The very good and quick lift. Having a stylish hotel near the train and bus station.
