I couldn't fault a thing, but I should point out that the rooms are
up two flights of stairs with no lift that I could see, so this may not
be ideal for older guests or those with accessibility issues as getting
heavy luggage up and down could be problematic.
We couldn't fault a single thing about Ripetta Palace. From the warm
welcome to the state-of-the-art facilities and beautifully decorated
room, this was definitely the highlight of our month's holiday in
Europe. Unlike a hotel, it's a set of rooms in an old (18th century)
building which have been completely renovated, so you're given keys
both to your individual room, to the entrance to Ripetta's section
of the building and the main door on the street - so it's very
secure, and makes you feel almost like you're living in your very
own Roman apartment!
Our room was relatively compact, yet had everything you could need for a perfect city stay. Music and lighting are controlled by state-of-the-art touch screen panels in both the bedroom and bathroom. A flat screen TV (with English channels) and excellent wifi enable you to keep up with what is going on in the world and the bed with its amazing memory foam pillows is truly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I didn't want to get up in the morning!
The bathroom is brand new and features a powerful shower and a range of quality toiletries.
The fridge is stocked with prosecco, campari and soda, beer and soft drinks, all of which are complimentary. There is also complimentary red wine, tea and a nespresso machine.
Breakfast is provided via a voucher system at a cosy restaurant across the road and includes juice, tea, coffee, cheeses, meats, breads, cakes, fruit and so on.
The hotel is well located just 1 minute's walk from Piazza del Popolo and around 10-15 minutes' walk from Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona etc. You can walk to the sights at the southern end of Rome (Colosseum etc) in a pleasant half hour's stroll whilst taking in the sights and sounds of this incredible city.
Ripetta is EXCELLENT value for money, we would most definitely recommend it to other travellers and will certainly be staying there again ourselves next time we're in Rome.
