From the initial warm welcome to the attentive but friendly service and really excellent food this family run hotel is a real gem and did not disappoint. The magnificent views from our room were stunning. We benefitted from going out of season and would hesitate before sharing it with many others.
Nothing in particular but the car park is very small and I expect it, the roads and the hotel get very congested in high season.
Location and restaraunt were quite good, the staff was helpful and solved problems quickly.
The rooms on the other hand could use some care - when we arrived, the sheet was dirty and the bext day I had to remind to bring us toilet paper (very awkward). The shower is rather old and haven't had proper maintenance probably for years - it decides on its own when to sprinkle water from which shower head. The handle of the water tap may stay in your hand if you try to ise it. Too few shelves in bathroom could also probably be fixed. And seriously, what's the problem with duvet covers? Why use separate sheets and blankets?
The view. Close to Arona (about 5 min. drive)
Parking problem - not enough parking space, you often get blocked by people who arrived after you to the hotel.
We had a very spacious room with lakeview
The parking lot was really crammed with cars, bit difficult to retrieve the car
Very good food and wine, good breakfast offerings. The weather was very bad, and we were there only one night, but the views would have been brilliant over rhe lake from our room apart from the mist.
The owners have created a most wonderful family hotel. We loved "Mama" she never stopped smiling and giving suburb service. Breakfast was first class looking out over the lake.
The view was excellent, the room ( top floor) very spacious and comfortable with free Wifi and sat tv. We had dinner at their restaurant and enjoyed the food.
Unfortunately there was quite a strong smell by one side of the bed.
Great food helpful staff
Magnificent view, great food at the restaurant. Very polite and friendly staff.
Rooms in the back, near the street can be noisy.
Nice lake view from hilltop Good restaurant with great views Recently renovated, in very good condition Nice staff
Pretty much nothing
Parking at the hotel is a disaster, far to few spots. There were no spots when we arrived and we had to park elsewhere.
Whether you stay at the hotel or not, definitely plan on a meal in the restaurant. The food was amazing and the view from the restaurant made us want to linger. We didn't have a room with a lake view but there's a guest patio on the 2nd floor which does - nice touch.
Parking is limited and though there's a lot relatively close, walking on the road is a little uncomfortable.
Nice view fron balcony and nice terrace restaurant with very delicious food
Little far from the center of Lago maggiore but superb location for people who like tranquility
Beautiful location, great breakfast.
Had a difficult time find the hotel but it was very late.
Great location just outside of Arona. Easy access to local businesses and tourist activities. Staff provided excellent service and was very friendly. The included breakfast was delicious and coffee was excellent. Generous pour at the bar and the restaurant had a good selection, great food and excellent service. Great views from the lake side rooms.
Parking can be a bit tight but is doable.
Hotel had great location overlooking the lake. Breakfast was very good and was taken on the outside terrace overlooking the lake. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Park with huge bronze statue very close and open to visitors.
My room was small and faced away from the lake, but not all rooms can have the lake view. The hotel was up a steep hill away from the town centre, so you needed a car, which fortunately I had, though was not intending to hire a car when I booked the room. The hotel looked closer to the centre on the map.
The view from the room over the lake was amazing and the room was very comfortable. The staf were friendly, food was good. Very good hotel vs price.
On booking.com we had to book 2 rooms for 3 people but on arrival we realized the bigger room was already prepared for 3 people. But the price is calculated per person not by the size of the room so you gain nothing if you book only 1 big room for 3 person (if you can).
The view was fanatastic and the food was good. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.
It was a little hard to find.
Simply the best! We had a very nice room with a very nice terrace over looking all arona and the room was very big & spacious and the facilities were all new and at latest technology! A bargain!
Scene over the lake. Ask for a room with a view for 10 euros.
Distance from Arona. Nothing good in walking distance
Location. Views. Cleanliness
Breakfast buffet was good but not very good: little variety, no fresh orange juice, etc
The views from the restaurant and the shared balcony were magical.
I could not connect to the internet with my table and was told by the hotel that it was my tablet except I was able to connect immediately to internet at the next location in Rome. Maybe it was the area or just for mobile users.
Such a nice place with its view.. Staff are very hardworking.
You must travel by car---located in the hills above the lake. We had a longer stay, with very comfortable, large room, balcony and fabulous view, A family business, very dedicated, friendly, helpful but at times stressed when occupancy high. Good breakfasts in lovely setting. Good restaurant, good value.
Would rate excellent but for the couple of personal caveats mentioned under "likes"
View was lovely and it was a beautiful hotel. The restaurant was pricey but the food was spectacular.
The air conditioning was almost nonexistent. It never cooled off in the room although the fan for the air conditioning was running. It was about 90 degrees and we finally gave up and opened the window so we could get some cooler breeze from outside after dark. The breakfast was minimal considering the evening meal that was wonderful.
