Beds are quite hard. The showers of the two rooms we stayed in were low quality (cheap perspex doors) and small (80cmx80cm) in bathrooms that were otherwise large and pleasant. As usual in Italy, apart from the ham, cheese and mediocre bread, breakfast consists of loads of cakes, croissants and biscuits that as too sweet for anyone who isn't Italian! Mosquitoes. If you're anywhere near the Italian lakes in summer, make sure you have plenty of strong mosquito repellent with you!!
Up the hill from Arona with spectacular view of Lago Maggiore from the very good restaurant and lake-view rooms. It doesn't really matter if you can't get a lake-view room, though. There's a small balcony on the 2nd floor and you'll be sitting in the restaurant for breakfast. Friendly staff. Quality of the ham at breakfast.
