The elevator wasn't working, but lucky for us we only had one flight to climb.
Our room was large. It had a terrace from which you could see the walls of the ruins. It was on the side, so very little road noise. It was an easy off the autostrade, though a lot of traffic for the short distance. Getting on the autostrade to go to Naples was super easy & close. The breakfast was ample & fresh.
In its heyday it would have been quite splendid but it was a bit shabby. Breakfast was included but was pretty basic compared that provided at other accommodation we had stayed at while in Italy
Loved that the ancient ruins were right next door. Within walking distance of the town centre.
Location to the Pompeii ruins. Friendly, super helpful staff. Value for money. Great food and free breakfast. Large family room. Free parking, ATM in the lobby.
Despite the name this hotel doesn't have a restaurant open to its paying guests. The hotel is deserted, cold and uncared for. There is literally no service whatsoever except a poor breakfast.
The location directly outside the ruins of Pompeii is just about perfect if you are going to be spending most of your time there.
Breakfast was set out with flies all around the cold meats and cheese and the bread.(no refrigeration for the meats etc either) Staff were smoking around the food preparation area we also saw the waiter smoking in the dining room. The evening meal had very little selection. The beds were caved in the middle. Local transport is disgusting and extremely dangerous dont travel on the local train!! If you do, go with very little cash with nothing on show and all sealed, also if not very strong on your legs as you get literally pushed to the back and crushed!! We were crushed and very nearly robbed had our daughter not been very quick witted and thwarted the thieves causing them to get off at the next stop. Lots of beggers and filth everywhere.
The location was excellent for the Pompeii ruins. The staff were pleasant. The cleaner for our room was really lovely. Our advice is to walk up the hill towards the station there is an excellent restaurant there with very friendly people too!!!
If I had a small niggle I would say the carpets and furnishings are beginning to show their age wear/tear but all personal areas are clean and fresh and the staff make up for any shortcomings . I would definitely stay again .
We chose this hotel for its proximity to the ruins and Herculaneum . It is a large hotel and I imagine in the season it would have been full . The first night we stayed we were the only ones at breakfast . The room was huge , as was the bed , and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean , nicely tiled and with an excellent shower . The staff were extremely helpful and friendly . The restaurant was closed the first night but the second night we ate very well there . The breakfasts were good too . The hotel is so close to all the action it is an excellent place to stop and quiet after all the stalls have closed .
The towels were of normal fabric and wifi signal was unstable.
The best location, the atention from staff, food was great, they had vegetarian options, it was clean and confortable, and I notice that they are kind to animals. We would be glad to go again :-D
Things that did not work: Phone to call front desk, toilet, tv, wifi, blow dryer.
Breakfast was good and location was excellent.
1) the furniture is a bit old 2) for no particular reason both me and my spouse could not sleep well
1) breakfast is quite nice in comparison with ones in mini-hotels 2) location is the best 3) price seems to be fair
Good location. Friendly and helpful staff.Comfort room. Good breakfast. Close to highway and train station. Good restaurant. Parking. Everything.
All day having to put up with tour buses and the throngs of (sorry but RUDE tourists) got a bit much after a while. The hotel itself is rich with history but no one working at the hotel new or was interested to talk about it. The rooms are outdated but very clean. Staff are very accommodating pleasant, very nice/helpful - thankyou Ladies..! This hotel caters to large groups for meals, and so quality suffors for everyone else - rubber reheated...food not so good. Continental breakfast good/fresh.
We loved the location, just outside the gates and within view of the historical site of Pompeii. The historical hotel building itself was a treat to stay in and the balconies led to social possibilities with travelling companions. The hotel is closely located to the train station which made it convenient for going to Sorrento and Naples. BUT!!! (Pls read the dislikes)
Beds were a bit hard, room decor could be much more beautiful with a bit of imagination for the interiors, color, fabric and furniture.
Great, classic building, lots of style and space, well appointed bath, fabulous terrace, lovely breakfast, friendly staff. All with a faded air of the past, nonetheless, lacking nothing for a really comfortable stay.
Great location for seeing Pompei. Nice staff, facilities were a little lacking but ok given the price of the stay. Certainly would recommend.
Little difficult to find but when we found was great.
Perfecto location, it doesn't get any better. Restaurant made it possible to not drive around and food was great. Staff was very helpful and polite. Room was spacious and clean with a nice balcony for taking in the view.
Air conditioning did not work. Rugs are very old /soiled and need to be replaced and foyer needs updating -new rugs. Staff was excellent...
The hotel was in a great location for the pompeii ruins, only a 1 minute walk! It is walking distance to the city centre and is a 5 minute walk to the train that takes you to Sorrento. Good little location that isn't in the hustle and bustle of the city center.
Members of staff did not help me with the heavy suitcases, despite me being with an old person and two young kids. I had to ask, and I did it once, but then when I arrived at the car I noticed that they were just looking at me without any intention to help me to place the suitcases in the boot of the car. I had to do it myself with them looking at me! Really lazy customer service.
The location and the buzz around the area. Parking just next to the entrance. Good pizza places nearby.
location, clean , friendly
venue: very close to the entry to the archeological area
Dinner service more of a charade. Breakfast basic. Wifi slow and only in lobby. Balcony covered in dust, furniture staining clothes.
Location right next to entrance of Pompeii archaeological site. Charm of decaying former grand hotel glory in midst of tacky tourist precinct. Large room.
Great location 2 min from station, 5 min walk from ruins. Very good value for $
We stayed in this hotel for two days and were disappointed with our room. 1.Conditioner didn't working properly. 2.No fridge in the room. 3.Clogged sewer pipes 4. Ants under the carpet near the door to the balcony 5.can't use Wifi even public areas because signal was extremely low
Location is really fantastic. Nice public areas. Polite staff.Good breakfast.
The parking chaos SOME rude staff Abysmal breakfast no hot water (tepid) No decent water pressure Air con didn't work in son's room Hygiene extremely poor throughout hotel Whole decor extremely poor which includes peeling ceiling paint, stained carpets and dirty linen Being made to walk through the gift shop and market when trying to leave the hotel. Definitely a two star NOT three
Price and comfortable bed
Location, close to the station and Scavi. Staff were very helpful and polite. Room was very large and was nice and cool. Also nice and quiet.
The internet connection only works well front of the reservation desk.
The hotel is at a short walking distance (1 min) from the Pompeii main entrance. .Very helpful and courteous staff; the hotel "atmosphere" is charming and retro They let us use the parking after checkout until we came from the Pompeii scavi (excavations). Breakfast was good and included in the price.
