Score from 282 reviews Wonderful
Very elegant for price. Breakfast excellent. Right on edge of downtown, close to action. Clean. Friendly helpful staff. Easy to find.
Parking was extra (per booking agreement), and balcony ocean view was true if you could ignore the neighborhood laundry and parking lot that dominated.
close to main area of Sorrento, 10 minutes railway station which is the best way to get to Pompeii, Herculaneum. Clean, refurbished rooms, good housekeeping, decent breakfast (though coffee out of a machine).
a little noisy with windows open with traffic, and at dawn a cockerel from the next door house. suppose it all adds to the southern Italian atmosphere
We had a great time! Lots of space, super clean, great views and yummy breakfast!
It was warm so we had our windows open, which made it really loud. Some of us had a hard time sleeping
Good location - very easy walk to the port to catch a boat for the island of Capri and also lots of restaurants and shops in the immediate area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast spread was great and the restaurant allowed us to order room service. Also have a gated parking lot for a fee (8 Euro per day)
While the staff were very friendly, they did not give us much information without some prodding.
Location was ok on main street but at one end so fairly quiet away from all the noisy bars
Reception staff were very unhelpfull, especially older male couldn't be bothered to talk to us, looked at us as if we were something on his shoe. Breakfast and resteraunt staff poor
It's an excellent place because it has great room especially the shower! It was neat and clean. The staff was always helpful but we recommend to look for attraction in the city's agencies for more options and better prices.
Common areas were great with terrific views of the Bay of Naples. Food was good and people helpful and cordial. Location allowed for easy walk to center of town and restaurants and shoppes.
No A/C so we had to keep windows open and the Rooster and road noise could be loud at times. View from bedroom was nil, bathroom was a little close with toilet next to shower.
NIce room, friendly staff, tasty breakfast.Location of the hotel is outstanding.Surely be back!
Friendly staff, lockable car park off-road.
Other traffic - they come from everywhere
We reservered a sea viewpoint room, but got a room close to the street without any view.We were refused to change room because so-called no empty room . We checked in at about16:00 and paid 12euro for parking in 24 hours. But When we checked out at 9 :00 and asked for parking during we going around the center in 2hours,the hotel refused us again because the parking place was full.It was bullshit, because there were still some parking place when we checked out. Not recommended this hotel strongly because of dishonest attitude .
Comfortable and spacious room with nice bathroom.
Internally the hotel is noisy because of poor soundproofing. The hotel cant do much about the busy traffic sounds and the cockerals crowing!
We had booked this ahead of time as Sorrento was our first overnight stop in mainland Italy having crossed from Messina the night before and travelled round the Amalfi coast by a combination of boat and bus earlier in the day. We arrived in the evening and walked from the main square - about 8 minutes (don't bother with the bus, it's not worth it as the walk is direct and you can familiarise yourself en route anyway). Check in was quick and efficient and the room was a good size with a decent bathroom (nice toiletries). The air con was not the easiest to work out but was fine eventually and there was a reasonable sized balcony on which you could have had a picnic supper if you were so inclined (the small fridge in the room was a good idea, too.) We ended up eating in the restaurant that evening as having walked around the town were in the end, too tired to walk far - and it seemed that there were too many tourists still abroad (a bit of a shock, to be honest, given the week we had had before in Sicily where it was quite easy to escape the tourist throngs). Breakfast was fine - with the most spectacular selection of cakes I have ever seen on a breakfast buffet ! - plentiful and varied although again, coffee was from a machine - my only genuine disappointment, given that this is Italy, after all. Again, very polite staff who were coping admirably with some rather demanding guests as well as some capricious breakfast electricals (including aforementioned coffee machine and the toaster). Check-out was polite and efficient and the hotel was in good order throughout.
Able to walk easily into the centre . Train station and bus to airport within walking distance .Public transport good for sight seeing! Good eating places and interesting shops. Open late at night and friendly atmosphere. Good temperature 27-28 degrees.
The hotel smells musty and the room felt damp. It doesn't have good ventilation.
Good view, security, comfortable room, ability to leave bag after check out for day
Efficious older staff, noise at night due to tiled floors and hard surfaces around hotel, staid / old fashioned dining room breakfast
Very good location for visiting Sorrento, easy walking access. Nice balcony but the 'sea view' needed some imagination. Good breakfast
I had to ask for the shower cubicle to be cleaned properly - which they did. Room quite basic - but it was a 'comfort room' if I were to return I would choose a higher specification. Limited space for clothes - no drawers and had to ask for more clothes hangers
Friendly and efficient staff. Parking convenient. Good Location. Good value basic restaurant with excellent service.
Walls are a bit thin, noisy plumbing. Having to pay for parking but worth it for the convenience.
It is a bit far from Circumvesuviana train station but the location itself is great. It's at the end of the main street and just right under a beautiful cliff, having dinner at the hotel restaurant outdoor admiring the view was great! Just keep walking straight along the main street there are lots of shops and much to see and easily reached the city center. The room key is a quite large and heavy to carry tho. Staff is generally not very passionate except one man working the night shift who was quite friendly (but I forgot to ask for his name), but it's not a big matter as long as they can provide satisfactory service to fulfill my need.
The twin room was clean and surprisingly spacious. Toilet as well. Allowed addition of extra single bed (with supplement charge). Request for extra bedsheet, blanket and towel promptly met, even though it was at night. No view as we staying in economy room. Near town center, about 600m.
This hotel was very good value for money; the accomodation was a little basic but considering the price we paid I could not complain. The rooms were all clean, tidy and comfortable.
The hotel's advert suggests you can have breakfast on a terrace but in fact it is indoors. This was a small issue but a little disappointing.
We stayed here as our friend were getting married nearby (a group of them stayed at the Hilton). The location was brilliant, being only a couple of minutes walk to the main hustle of Sorrento. We stayed in a standard room for one night and an economy room for 3 nights and to be honest the only thing that was different was the view. The hotel has a communal lounge and balcony which was lovely. The attached bar was nice and reasonably priced for drinks. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but found it to be satisfactory with the usual range of continental foods. The staff were friendly and informative.
Great location, good wifi, quiet and clean.
Poor English skills, food needs improving and not very help in with arranging activities.
Perfect location and really beautiful
Very accommodating, helpful staff . We had to fill in three hours after check out time and we were able to leave luggage without any fuss and we were never made to feel we were in the way..
Nothing ! We didnt eat a full meal there so we can 't comment on that but we had a very tasty pizza for a welcome snack .
We liked the accommodation. The staff were friendly and very obliging. Plenty of room to move around. The breakfast was exceptional. We would recommend the Rivage Hotel to everyone.
