The accommodations were lovely though a little small but fine for a short stay. Larger rooms are also available. The staff were terrific and very helpful. The ac worked great. Location is fabulous--can walk to Pantheon and Trevi Fountain--also Bernini's Four Rivers sculpture Just that the room was small.

All the staff were friendly and well informed. Nothing was a problem. The hotel ambience was very pleasant and the decor beautiful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent. Good value for our money as we booked well in advance and got good price. Would highly recommend this hotel. Only that there was not enough English channels on tv. Thisw is not the Hotel's fault though

River Palace Hotel exceeded my expectations. While some guests might criticize the size of the room I had, I was not concerned as I used the room only for sleeping. I was looking for convenient/safe location, cleanliness, updated bathroom, good breakfast, friendly staff, etc. which I found at River Place. For your information, I found River Palace by looking on the vbt web site to see what hotels they use as they typically choose good quality, economical, hotels. So, while I was not with vbt in connection with my stay, the hotel indirectly benefited from its association with vbt as I otherwise would never have know of the hotel. My stay at River Place was most enjoyable and very comfortable thanks to your very capable and friendly staff. For a small hotel, the lobby lounge area, bar, business/computer room and breakfast room are convenient and accommodating. Your staff should be assured that their efforts do not go unnoticed by guests. I have no complaints and feel that I received good value for my money.

The hotel's location is very good - just a few steps from Piazza Del Popolo (sorry if my spelling is wrong), the same few steps from the underground station, everything is not far. The hotel's breakfast was better than we expected: E.G. fresh fruits (melon, pineapple, kiwi) every day and even champagne! Friendly staff. 1) Our standart room was tiny!!!!!!!! No, it was more like a doghouse but not a room in a 4* hotel. It was just impossible to move around the room for two people, only this way - one is sitting on the bed, the other is doing smth (E.G. getting dressed in the morning). 2) The same about the bathroom. You should better ask balance-masters for a piece of advice before you tried to enter the bathroom together or use your towel (after shower) in it. and the "best" 2 things: - every day at any time (and at night as you can guess) we were lucky enough to enjoy the noise of plumbing system. As soon as someone (above) flashed the toilet ot took shower we heard real roaring. Thanks God I took ear muffs - after the first night without them I had to use them every night to sleep well. - every evening we were again lucky to enjoy some strange smell from the street (our windows overlooked the backyard) like smoke. It was very unpleasant. We tried to use conditioning but as soon as it was switched on there was smell of cigarette smoke. I guess some guests smoked in their rooms but somehow (the cond-n system is old enough in my opinion) we felt it Unfortunately the hotel turned to be worse than we thought.

My husband and I enjoyed three days at the rp in October 2011 during our first trip to Italy. Although the location is a bit away from the main action, it was extremely convenient and actually well located. (We walked everywhere from the hotel-- to the Colosseum, the Vatican, the Forum, the Ghetto, Trastavere, San Pietro in Vincoli, the Spanish Steps... Just bring good walking shoes!) The staff at the rp was unfailingly warm and helpful, the room small but quiet and comfortable, and the breakfasts fresh and delicious. Don't forget to request espressor or cappuccino if you want it. All told, highly recommend. I would definitely return.

This was our second stay at the River Palace Hotel. It is a charming hotel right in a great location just beyond the Piazza Del Popolo. Step out the front door into the heart of Rome. It is expensive so there may be more value for your money in other hotels. The rooms are quite small so best to upgrade to a superior or deluxe room. As with most European hotels, the bathroom/shower can prove a bit challenging as well. They offer a lovely breakfast including western fare and the bar/lounge is beautiful. The staff is attentive and helpful. If you are looking for elegance and charm and are willing to pay for it, this would be the hotel for you.

lovely clean hotel in a fab location, we walked all the sights of Rome from here. Very clean with friendly staff. Happy hour or hours which is great after long hours of walkin Rome - all drinks half price. I e-mailed before we arrived and we were given a free up-grade because it was our honeymoon they also left wine in the bedroom for us on arrival which was a really nice touch-dont hesitate just go.
