My visit to Colosseo and vatican
The comfy bed and the excellent b'fast
Great hotel and staff, located just outside the centre but within easy reach of all of Rome's main tourist sites. My partner and I stopped for four days and found the River Palace a great base from which we walked to all the main attractions. Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.
Street sellers were a bit of a nuisance, although not intimidating there were a lot of them continually trying to sell their wares.
All the staff are genuine and really keen to help, from the front desk to the breakfast staff. Room was immaculate with classic decor, & bathroom entirely marble. Breakfast buffet v high quality with cappuccinos happily made on request - we didn't need lunch.
We were happy with everything, though some may find rooms aren't big (the hotel kindly upgraded us & said that was their policy subject to availability). If room size matters to you, all the details of square metres & bed size are on the hotel website.
in a very good position, quite in a central place. The breakfast was good, the staff was friendly and helpful.
wifi was not good, not enough shampoo
The staff - wow! They were always extremely friendly and helpful. Great service, from the reception desk staff to the cleaning ladies. Great breakfast and bar. The location is not in the middle of the centre (just behind the Aurelian walls) but it's still easy to walk almost anywhere (Spanish steps 10 min, Piazza Navona 25, Colosseum 45). Metro is very close and has a direct link to station Termini which is helpful when you need to go to the airport.
Standard room is a bit small but I personally don't think that is a problem.
the bed - felt like being at home; the breakfast, delicious and imaginative, very rare in Italy; the decor
the lifts, and having to take two lifts to get to my floor (change on first floor, which entails crossing the entire corridor)
Locatie was close to my day time location. Very nice personell. Good breakfast.
Small rooms. Small elevator. No powerplug near the bed.
The staff were very efficient and friendly. The room was a good size very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was amazing.
The breakfast is awesome, the attention of the staff is excelent.
Great, helpful, friendly staff. The location is great. Very noce breakfast
The room has everything but it was slightly too small. Given the location my room didn't have amazing view but just great.
Friendly staff Great location Good breakfast
At check in- when the queue got big, we were asked to wait in the lounge around the corner and subsequently missed our place in the queue. Only on going out to check the delay did we realise what had happened. I understand the reasons for the process but unfortunately it doesn't work!
Staff was excellent here and friendly as well. At breakfast on the first morning they asked me which type of coffee I wanted, and each morning thereafter they made me my cappuccino without me having to ask. It's special touches like this that makes your stay worthwhile! Also loved the turn-down service. I was definitely missing this when I stayed at other 4 star hotels in Milan, Munich and Amsterdam which didn't offer it.
People complain about how small the rooms are, but I really didn't notice because I spent most of my time exploring Rome. I tend to travel light when it comes to luggage, so I can't really complain about the space.
We spent 3 nights at the River Palace and found the location to be excellent. A metro stop was nearby making it easy to travel to Ancient Rome, the Vatican, and Termini. The staff was excellent! We unexpectedly needed to change our travel plans and they went out of their way to help us! Breakfast selection was delicious and we enjoyed happy hour after a day of sightseeing.
Nothing! Our stay was perfect!
Staff was warm and very friendly and helpful. Wonderful happy hour in their bar that lasts 4 hrs, if you want to be indoors with practically all American tourists instead of exploring Rome.
The Room was too tiny for two girlfriends. No room for any clothes to be put away. Closet has 4 tiny drawers meant for socks and underware! Had to ask for more hangers. Nice big bathroom tho!
Location was excellent. Very friendly staff.
Very small rooms. Smelly. I could hear my neighbour snore. Very old property, not well maintained.
The location was great. Also enjoyed the happy hour at the end of the day. Breakfast was good too. Overall great place to stay in Roma
Fantastic breakfast, super nice and helpful staff and just a beautiful hotel. Close to metro, restaurants, and attractions!
Bathrooms small but it is expected in a city hotel like New York.
Location was great to access the Vatican City and the Colosseum. The happy hour, was better than any happy hour I've attended in the States. Breakfast, we were expecting coffee, juice and maybe a Danish. We had a full breakfast. A first class (Five Star) operation. If I ever return to Rome, this is where I would book my stay.
I can't think of anything I did not like.
location, breakfast, friendly staff...
carpets need to be changed or cleaned, rooms are tiny...
The ambiance when you walk in gives the impression that you made a good choice for staying in Rome but goes downhill from there.
Terrible breakfast, carpets worn, rooms small and shower even smaller. The tv remote needs a book to explain it. Have to change elevators past the first floor super annoying!!!! I paid for a single and got a double but my mom paid for a double and got a single. Not cool!
Great position The hotel is beautiful Staff are excellent
The room was appalling A 700mm square shower is ridiculous for an 86kg 180cm man. This is a childs room, I do not understand why you would put an adult in this room, it was totally unacceptable and extremely disappointing.
location, very friendly staff
there is a big courtyard which could be beautiful with a lot of plants to sit outside in the afternoon/evening Actually nobody does use it....
Location, staff. Breakfast OK. Nice little restaurant around the corner a block away.
Room a bit small; shower much too small - slightly overweight people (like some Americans checking in when I checked out)would not even get into the shower, and would probably not be able to sit on the toilet either,
Staff, especially Andrea at front desk. He was very helpful, Happy Hour was very convenient & enjoyable. Room lovely. Highly recommend.
Even though bathroom was clean and in excellent condition, shower stall was too small to even shave legs.
