Excellent position on Lido away from the crowds on the main island.Across the road from the Vaporetto stop and an easy trip to St Mark's.Manager was quite charming and helpful and the room that we had was big and nicely furnished.Decoration and furnishings were very Italian with flowers and elaborate decor everywhere giving it a very different but attractive look.Breakfast was the best we had in a hotel in Italy and there were several good restaraunts close by for evening meals. It was great to get back to the relative quiet of Lido after a day sightseeing in the City.Really enjoyed staying at Riviera. Flowers in the toilet!- only kidding but there seems to be flowers everywhere. |

Th Hotel was located just around the head of the C'an Pastilla main cove , but it had it's own pretty little beach front - which you could simply look at and enjoy as there was more than ample room at the Hotel 's pool area with Jacuzzi ,decking sun loungers etc.The room was very nice- good lcd tv for the rainy evening that we had and the morning news - the staff were very friendly and helpful ,the food was absolutely marvellous - so much choice-.As for the desserts - they were exceptional - fresh fruit and almost every type of pastry / pie knwon to man.The location of the Hotel suited us fine as we really used it as a base to explore the island via Palma. But it would also suit the beach scene. Nothing whatsoever-I believe that it may well be attemting 5 star status next year - and I would support their claim. |

the location of the hotel excellent. Breakfast reasonable. Reception staff a bit unfriendly. Very cold, heating not on, even when we asked we were told "not yet" Even though Italians all geared up for winter. |

The Hotel Riviera is located near to the vaporetto station and therefore an excellent place to start the city trip of venice; the staff in the breakfast room was very helpfull because we had a sick child with us |

It was as stated, convenient, clean, very good accessability to the Vaporetto. Local restaurants in Lido were very good and well priced, excellent shops local to hotel. We had a lagoon facing view which was excellent but this side of the hotel facing Venice was quite noisy throughout the night with traffic and bus noise which was quite intrusive. |

The hotel was great. I had read many of the previous comments that were negative and we found the hotel to be delightful. People have to realise how old the place is and adjust their expectations accordingly. It was clean, comfortable, very conveinient and the breakfast was wonderful. |

The hotel's location close to a swimming beach was great for our young family. It is also right beside the waterbus wharf to Venice city, where waterbuses call all the time. The breakfasts (included) were ample and the dining area was comfortable. We had the 4-berth family room which was a good base for a family holiday. The rate was very reasonable. Staff helped us with all our enquiries and spoke good English. They also helped us with difficulties over establishing a wifi connection, allowing us to use our laptop in the dining room after hours. The wifi signal didn't reach our room, but staff were patient and obliging to help us work around this. |

It is very conveniently located near the Vaporetto dock on Lido, so no need for a taxi. Good restaurants nearby. We booked two rooms. One was fine, spacious, with a good view of the Lagoon, the other was tiny and not good value as it was only €10 less than the good room. |

Location excellent for accessing Venice by vaporetto, and for providing space from the crowds of Venice during the summer months. An added bonus was the proximity of a reasonable beach and warm sea. Efficient staff, decent rooms and breakfast. An excellent choice of hotel if the price is right. |

Perfect location to see Venice but then retreat to Lido Island for the serenity of the beach, dinner and drinks. Venice waterbus stop across the street from hotel, 7minute walk to public beach on Adriatic Sea. Inside of hotel maintained in exceptional condition, very nicely decorated and clean. The outside is not noteworthy but well maintained. Breakfast was not exceptional but very adequate. We would stay in this hotel again and recommend to friends. |

Great location on Lido, right next to the boat stop and just a short trip from the public beach. The boat ride to the city centre took approx. 10-15 min and boats went regularly. Nice and clean hotel, very quiet at night. Nice staff. We had a great stay here and recommend it if you want to stay close to the city centre, but be shielded from city noise; or if you want a beach+city holiday. The bathrooms were really small, smelled a bit weird and the water pressure was unstable. It was also very easy to hear your next door neighbour from the bathroom if they were in their bathroom, almost like we were in the same room. (this was not a problem from the bedroom). |

The amazing view from our room over the lagoon - the sunrise and the sunset, perfect location. The breakfast - a lot of fruits, but not much of a choice about the rest. |

Very nice spot, right in the centre. The view was ok instead of the construction. The "smart price" (which was the half of the original) was because there was a huge construction right under our window. The "lagoon view" was ok but a bit noisy at 8 in the morning. And the hotel make strictly forbidden any outside bought drinks or foods, and they have a "service", you can order food from 9pm till 6am. Never try this! Peace of crap for 8 EUR, and they had only one (!) kind of food. It is better to smuggle sg onto the hotel (and cheaper). |

Reading some of the negative reviews of the Hotel Riviera (though the majority are positive) makes me think that some people expect Grand Hotel services and facilities for a 3 star price, which is not to say that you should expect to meet surly staff and that the hotel is second or third rate. It's anything but. Or perhaps we've just spent a week at The Ritz rather than the Riveria as we thought. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the location is first rate, we were neither scalded or frozen when showering (though the water temperature is variable), the breakfast was fine and we saw no rotten fruit. Someone said the Riviera wasn't central. Maybe we are entering our dotage, but we thought it couldn't be more central. The location could not be better, being just across the road from a waterbus stop, and a 15 minute stroll along the Gran Viale takes you to the excellent Lido beach and the Adriatic. The view of Venice from our room (overlooking the lagoon) was superb. The decor (somewhat chintzy) is a matter of taste, but it is not offensive and the hotel was clean and well maintained. Nor were there any offensive smells as some have claimed. Would we stay there again? Yes, without hesitation. To summarise: excellent location, clean, good breakfasts, helpful staff, "neat" but adequate rooms (we had a king size bed) and a lovely roof garden with panoramic views. Watching (from our balcony) the cruise ships creep in to the lagoon from the Adriatic before entering Venice was a bonus. |

Rooms were very clean and comfortable.Staff friendly and spoke English.Easily accessable to all the main sights in Venice with the added bonus of being near a lovely beach. Water temperature varied during shower from very hot to very cold. No tea or coffee facilities in the rooms. Was supposed to be a double room but they had pushed 2 sinsle beds together. |

I liked the style of the room and the building. I requested a little balcony and I got one facing the sea. The room when we entered was not very fresh smelling |

It is very close to the boat station (only 2 mins walk) and I love the set-up at the reception area. It is too far from the bus station. Approximately 40mins - 1hr boat ride. I don't like the smell in the room even tough the room is clean. The water is not consistent. After 2 mins, it will turn to cold water and suddenly very hot water. |
