The concierge very friendly and attentive.

Nice people, nice breakfast. We have been there when it was cold (march) - just for 2 days to see Ostia Antica. It is very close to the ancient place (15 min walk. For those who like to see Ostia Antica it is perfect.

The road that goes to the residenza is in a very bad condition which is for sure not the fault of the owners. The city should infest some money as there are many holes in the street which is bad when it rains. the heating didn't stop, there was no way to control it.

It was a cosy hotel, very comfortable, big room with good size bathroom. Very friendly and helpfull stuff.

Brekfast should be served at the hotel, there is very nice good size room next to the "lobby" it wouldn't coat the hotel much but it would have been added value. Although in italy free wi fi is not standard in the hotels yet, i would suggest it be added to the hotel services.

The staff could not have been more helpful and the grounds were very natural, although we did not see all of the six hectares due to a lack of time. Lovely rustic building with traditional interiors, very charming and comfortable. Near to the airport of Fiumincino, but so peaceful and quiet, idyllic setting to escape from city stress. Horse riding and other activities available in season, excellent restaurant! I would like to visit again and spend more time there.

There was nothing I didn't like about it, but found it a little tricky to find in the dark - my bad (but if well mapped before travel, it should be easy).

Living within a medieval castle among an antic furniture is a very unique and pleasant experience, besides, ancient ruins of Ostia are quite near and therefore easy to explore. The room includes facilities to prepare tea or coffee which is very helpfull for long-walking travellers like us). The appartments are owned by a very nice family and, although italian is the most preferred language, we found no problem in communication.

The room was unusual,the four poster bed was beautiful and very comfortable. Tea and coffee in the room was a bonus as this is not usually available in Italian hotels.

The strange booking in process, after a very long drive having to check in at one area then be escorted to the room which was in another area of Antica.

Great for agritourism and Rome city tour. Location is good, near the seaside Ostica, with very nice beaches and restaurants, and 300m away from subway station, which can take you to the Rome downtown in 40 min. Their own restaurant, with Mimo as a chief was amazing and reasonably priced. Staff was very helpful. Antica Ostica itself is very old and historical place, with nice restaurants and sights.

Lack of a/c and internet.

We had a room in the country house which was perfect for us. It was quiet and rather quaint-just the sort of place we like (we don't really like slick chain hotels). The food was excellent although we never quite knew when it would arrive or what it would be! Blissful air-conditioning made our room a haven. A superb 4 days.

The only thing it lacked was a bar or comfortable (cool!) place to sit and have a quiet drink while we were waiting. Communication difficulties occasionally arose due to staff's poor English and our non-existent Italian.

Il Castello di Giulio ii che appare nella brochure ma che non e' l'albergo. La "residenza medioevale" è, in realtà, un terraneo aperto sulla strada nel quale si accede direttamente dalla stessa alla stanza da letto.

Dopo aver optato per la stanza con "vista giardino" si siamo visti accogliere in una fattoria di campagna raggiungibile dopo aver percorso quasi 1 km di strada sterrata assolutamente buia (erano le 19.30) dove, contrariamente a quanto detto nella brochure, non funzionava il ristorante e nemmeno il televisore per non parlare del letto scomodo e cigolante. La mattina successiva abbiamo chiesto una sistemazione diversa e ci hanno spostato "nel castello visibile nella brochure" dove la stanza era affollata di mobili vecchi, polverosi e semi scassati, il bagno era all'altezza del medioevo (a cominciare dalla tavoletta del water rotta). Prima colazione scadente.

Ho alloggiato nel borghetto medioevale, posto stupendo, senza parole, stanza immensa con letto a baldacchino, tutto curatissimo, romantico...se potessi ci tornerei subito.

Il bagno non proprio comodissimo.

E' stato un salto indietro nel tempo, un vero viaggio spazio/temporale durante il quale è stato possibile "immaginare" un mondo, una realtà diversa da quella della vita convulsa che oggi ci siamo imposti.Eccellente anche la disponibilità, la professionalità, la precisione e puntualità dello staff.

La sola cosa negativa è che il soggiorno è stato troppo breve!

Eigentlich alles

The hotel has 2 locations. One in town (apparently) and one out of town . The room I was given was in a bungalow isolated in an unkept garden next to a scruffy dilapidated farm complex. There was nobody to welcome me on arrival at 1pm after a long drive and no one answered the phone number left on the door. I drove into town to see if I could find the other hotel location but the building with the same name had been closed for some months. I eventually managed to contact by phone someone who said is was lunch time but sent a reception person to sign me in and open .my room.The hotel would appear to be on its last legs. The sign showig directions to the out of town facility were broken etc. Finally there was a dog that barked throughout the night. A sad experience.Note. The picture of the castle shown on the web site seems to have no association with the hotel and is grossly misleading.

enorme troep op het terrein, geen warm water, tv werkte niet (was helemaal niet aangesloten), niet goed schoon

Quiet location surrounded by farmland.

Access roads poor with no Tarmac. No street lighting or road signs so very difficult to find in dark. Rooms too close to rustic for the price charged.
