Area information

Within walking distance of the hotel you will find:

Paolo Orsi Archaeological Museum - the museum illustrates the prehistory and history of nearly all the main archaeological sites in central and eastern Sicily, until the end of classical period.

Maniace Castle - built in the early 13th century, the castle owes its name to the Byzantine general who in 1038 defended Ortygia from the Arabs. Features include the impressive main door, made of polychrome marble and emblazoned with the imperial coat of arms of Charles V.

San Giovanni Catacomb - an extensive underground necropolis dating from the 4th century in which the Adelphia Sarcophagus (circa 340), now housed in the Archaeological Museum.

The convenience of the hotel; in the centre of Ortigia and close to sights and restaurants. Hotel facilties and breakfasts were excellent and staff extremely helpful.

Not the fault of the hotel as it is situated in the centre of an area with no parking and very narrow streets of historic interest, but it is slightly inconvenient not to have the car readily available (one hour's notice required for retrieval from the off-site parking facility). Also a bit difficult to find from the map sent.

Its location was superb. There is no parking in the vicinity; but the hotel took my car, arranged parking, and brought in back promptly on our departure.

Good size, well equipped room with a French balcony in an excellent location in the heart of the old town. Good breakfast.

Driving to the hotel was not easy and parking was in a local garage (10 Euro).

The staff was extremely helpful and the hotel is an elegant and very comfortable place. Its location in Siracusa couldn't be more convenient -- right next to the Duomo and on the main shopping street (However, it's very quiet). There is always someone who speaks very good English on duty at the front desk.

Parking was an extra ten Euros per night.
