Located 2 km from Lake Trasimeno, I Capricci Di Merion is an Art Nouveau building in the Umbrian countryside. It offers a traditional restaurant, an outdoor pool and country-style rooms.

This was our fifth visit to the Villa di Monte Solare. It has been consistently outstanding as a place to relax and enjoy the countryside, the facilities and the excellent food and service.
not always pleasant staff
Beautiful views of the Umbrian countryside. Great hotel, good swimming pool perfect for swimming and sunbathing, lovely setting. Restaurant food is delicious ask about half board. Room clean, comfortable and good size. Ask to stay near or in the main house.
Will be difficult to find at night.
The Villa is a luxurious haven, we stayed for 2 nights and dined in the Restaraunt both nights. The food is excellent and the staff is very attentive. The villa is set in an amazing hillside provding incredible views. We didnt get time to enjoy the spa which is unfortunate. Thankyou for a wonderful time
Restaurant had fine kitchen but music was horrid and staff too formal and stiff
Nice location to explore Umbria, kitchen in restaurant is very good. Territory is also very looked after.
Extra payment for eggs dishes and for fresh orange juice( in the middle of season in Italy???)
The surrounding countryside is stunning Lovely views, beautiful hotel grounds, pool is nicely set
Restaurant staff could be trained better - I didn"t find them very welcoming, or even very polite. The room was rather dark. The restaurant was very overpriced and quality varied. Generally we found similar prices in top end (and much tastier) restaurants in Florence and Rome.
beautiful surrounding, lovely property, nice swimming pool, very friendly and kind staff. Altogether it was an excellent stay.
the atmosphere and service at the restaurant were very nice. the food is OK but not extraordinary as expected.
The views from the hotel and the location were lovely. The lower swimming pool was beautifully sited and had good facilities. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Our room(we were upgraded) was dreadfully dark and had no views. Staff did offer to change the room the next day to one on the top floor of the main house which was much prettier and lighter but had no outside sitting space which we felt we needed as it was so hot. There was no complimentary water offered (which I think poor for the price we paid) and only one small bottle in the mini bar. The overhead lighting in the restaurant was stark and needs changing - although the room was pretty it felt like eating in a canteen. The breakfast was ok but the bread selection very poor. It was all self service and it was difficult to transport everything one wanted without repeated trips to the buffet table. It would be better if coffee and tea were served at ones table.
The staff, food and property including the pool.
The hotel was very difficult to find using a GPS and I pad map. Signage for the hotel prior to gravel roads and at a major signage area would have been very helpful. Also towels and bedding looked very old.
The radio too loud during the dinner time
The whole experience was more than we expected. Location, staff, facilities and food outstanding.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. All were exceptional in their professionalism. I couldn't rate them more highly.
The dining room could do with ambient light. It was a bit bright.
The grounds were beautiful. The staff was phenomenal- extremely helpful and friendly. We'll definitely be back. Good location to explore lots of sites in Umbria and Tuscany. Food at the restaurant was superb. Simply can't say enough good things about this place. Our children who are teenagers loved it as well. It was the highlight of our trip.
There was nothing to dislike. Simply superb!
Beautiful Villa at the top of a hill. Wonderful view over the beautiful landscape. Extensive walks through olive and cherry (!) groves. Definitely a place of desire...
Fabolous hotel, excellent food, absolut great service.
Everything! It was understated luxury - everything was tasteful, beautifully delivered, relaxed but top quality with excellent staff always ready to help. The hotel and grounds were beautiful and there were all the extra, special touches from the extra pool towels in a basket, the lovely toiletries, the chocolates on pillows to the tennis rackets being available for guests to use. None of it was ostentatious. It was just perfect. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a place to chill (great pool and views) but lots of places to drive to in the surrounding areas.
nothing. it was perfect.
Wonderful dinners with friendly, happy staff Great location for walking, loads of walks on the doorstep Peaceful location, enjoyed the wildlife and birds The olive oil and wine!
Not much soundproofing between the adjacent rooms however this did not detract from our visit. Breakfast was completely self service including getting hot drinks and cups etc, trays would be helpful as its a lot to carry. Home made bread would have been a nice touch but the home made cakes were excellent.
I highly recommend this wonderful hotel in the Italian countryside. The staff was extremely friendly and the surroundings amazing. I was just sad we couldn't stay an extra day to explore more. Food and wine were of very high standards.
Everything was excellent !!!
Wonderful setting, very professional sommelier, nice open air space for breakfast
Wine glasses in the room not clean, restaurant quite expensive, furniture style not in line with location
the quiet peaceful location, views, breakfast, restaurant, spa treatments
interior decor: modern but copied renaissance antiques peace great bathrooms rural loveliness charming staff
rough track to hotel, bit hard for some guests to find. We had sat nav--thank heavens swimming pool full of dead bugs-we visited in October but swimming could have been an option
