Featuring a great location just a few steps from the Vatican Museums and the walls of the Vatican City, Hearth Hotel is less than a 10-minute walk from Saint Peter's Square in Rome.
Score from 411 reviews Excellent
Offering panoramic views of Saint Peter's Square from its rooftop terrace, Residenza Paolo VI is actually a former monastery, and is the only hotel right on Piazza San Pietro.

We just spent 4 days in RomeApartment. Overall, it was excellent. We chose this hotel because we trusted the comments in Booking and they were absolutely correct. You feel like home, the staff is so helpful and the location couldn´t be better. It is not more than 20 min walking form the center and less than 5 from San Pietro Basilic. The area is full of restaurants and lots of different services. I will for sure recommend this hotel to everyone but people with mobility problems since it is a 3rd floor without lift service. The bring the breakfast to the room at the time you wish :) Thanks to the owner for making our stay in Rome unforgetable!
My daughter and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Rome Aparthotel. The owners organised our airport transfers which was excellent. Our lovely bedroom looked out on St Peter's. It took 5 mins to walk to St Peters. A great area with loads of good restaurants. We loved it
This B&B is just perfect. The pictures you see are true, the place is just TOP. Getting there is easy, just take the bus 64 at Termini station it drops you right in front of the B&B. We were greated friendly by the owner, who gave us information and tips, the rooms are clean, modern, big, bathroom impecable, even a small balcony, wifi is superb, shower gel, shampoo in the bathroom, big tv with international channels, safe, mini bar, complementary tea at your room, the mini bar prices are very low, breakfast is served at the time you wish in your room and it more than enough to start your day. I was very impressed and happy. We are just about having the second part of our trip in another B&B (same price range) and it is not even comparable... I wish I could have stayed longer at Rome Aparthotel! Don't be "fooled" by the location, even if you want to stay "central" this place is worth it!!! It is just a 2 minutes walk from St. Peter's square and if you don't mind some walking (we are not big "hikers") you can get anywhere just walking. We walked to the "center" many times but you can also get the bus that travels every 10-15 minutes and stops just in front of the hotel. Also some reasonably priced restaurants in the area. I would definitely stay here again if I revisit Rome and highly recommend this place to everyone!!!
It did not bother us at all, but is important for visitors with mobility issues, that the rooms are at the 3rd floor of the building and there is no elevator.
Miriam emailed ahead so felt happy about arrival. She organised for a taxi to meet me. Room clean, quite & just what I needed. Close to Vatican & easy to walk to sights close by. Good local restaurants
4 flights of stairs after a day out sightseeing.
We loved the B & B. It was well loca ted for what we wanted. Room was amazing it has great view of St. Peter's. Lots of great cafe's to eat at .
The only thing that I didn't like was climbing 8 flights of step to the room
Hotel pickup at airport was very convenient. Good location in Roma, very close to Vatican city. Small and personal place. Breakfast in room.
The location of my apartment was awesome. very central and easily within walking distance of most things.
The stairs up when out walking for the day lol.
Excellent location, fabulous service, very friendly and good value for money.
This B&B is in an excellent location right next to St Peter's Square located in a traditional Rome apartment block and has high quality rooms. The staff are very helpful and go out of their way to ensure that your stay is relaxing. Especially Miriam who is a really lovely lady who looks after her guests. Considering that this B&B is right next to Vatican City and only 10 minutes walk from the main Rome town centre and with plenty of good restaurants, shops, banks nearby and at half the price of the main hotel chains in Rome, this is definately the best value for money B&B that I have come across so far on my world travels.
Very close to Vatican City.
everything was perfect. the staff, the room and the location.
no elevetor and the apart is at 3rd foor.( but i got help with the luggage so was all good for us!)
What a lovely bed and breakfast. The staff was terrific and arranged our transportation, which was perfect. The location is great. It is simple but met all of our needs. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Rome.
I stayed at Aparthotel for 3 days in 2014. I have really enjoyed my stay there. What was important for me is that the hotel is in a very close distance to Vatican City (less than 5 min walking). All rooms are on the third floor. I had an amazing view from my window at the top of St. Peters Basilica. My room and bathroom were clean and in a very good condition. However, note that there was no iron in the room available. Mind you, that's the only shortcoming that I can think of so it gives you an idea about the hotel. The owners were friendly and of a great help. I have been offered transport from and to the airport for a small additional cost. I will definitely stay there during my future visits in Rome.
Location was Amazing. Right next to St. Peter's square. If the main purpose of your trip is to see the Vatican this is the perfect place to stay. The owner and the staff were very friendly. If I come back to rome I would stay here again.
The only thing that was a bit strange was the choice of TV. There were a lot of Arabic and Persian choices but only one English channel (BBC). This was fine for me since the internet is excellent and I could read the news that way.
Location was next to St Peters Square and the Vatican and the subway. The entrance was next to some budget friendly restaurants and souvenir shops. Facilities were very clean and comfortable. Owner was very nice. Breakfast was good.
Had to take luggage up a couple of flights of stairs because there wasn't an elevator in the front entrance. (Building is very old.) However, that wasn't a big deal for us. The bathroom was nice but it had a step inside so you had to be careful in the middle of the night.
Loved these rooms - we travelled around Italy for 2 weeks, staying in a combination of hotels, apartments and B&Bs, and Rome ApartHotel was the best one. Rooms were clean, spacious, with all the facilities we needed. We were really well looked after by the staff too.
