Horrible hotel, the reception was terrible, rude staff, they had no desire to help. There's a night club down the hotel, which could be great if you don't want to wake up early to enjoy the city or catch a plane in the morning. The wi fi just don't work, and if you ask for help the staff just don't help. The bathroom leaks water every where, and it is disgusting.
Obliviously the biggest selling point is it's right next to the Coliseum and SOME of the rooms have views. Mine had a view of the old gladiator training ground and the local part. Breakfast was good but can get a bit samey if you're there for a long time. Oh and I loved my shower, if you want to get jet washed from waist height then book here now
Other than being right next to the Coliseum its right above a restaurant and a bar. You will hear that from about 10pm to 1am. No lift so nope you like stairs. Other than that no complaints.
Only the view
The water in the shower was ice cold . We also complained about the bed which was hollow and got no help .It will be better to travel a bit further but have accommodation that is comfortable. and less noisy..
My room was amazing. I did not have a view of the coluseum however my room was very modern. The shower was great, I had a choice of regular shower or rain shower. It had music inside, really great. The bed was so comfy. Lots of space to move around in and to place luggage.
The room was spacious and had a very Romanesque feel. Beautiful!
Very noisy restaurant/club downstairs that plays electronic music well into the next morning. Bed was rock hard; woke up sore.
Friendly staff and location.
internet conecttion a little bit weak
The staff was helpful, polite and knowledgeable. The breakfast was very nice, and the restaurant, while expensive, offered a very good meal with a beautiful view. Free parking nearby and walking distance to every important site except the Vatican. The cleaning staff was very thorough.
The room was dimly lit and shabby, with the wallpaper peeling off. They advertise a plasma tv, but it is tiny and the bathroom is outdated.
The location was excellent.
The noise from the bar up the road was awful kept everyone awake till about 3am each night. Hotel staff were ok the waitress at breakfast was very rude and there was no choice of food.
Breakfast servis poor and in an open window cold saloon, where staff preparing restuarant for lounch for outside coming guests. If you dont ask for a need they never make servis. In the rooms where not wifi available as it was written on there page. We asked about wifi, they always did as if were a breakdown; a young women (supposed to be a stuff) she told us that she wıll talk to the owner of the hotel and it will be ok after 15 mınutes. But after half our when we looked for her she was sitting in the restaurant in ground floor and was drinking coffe. As we asked her for the wifi she sayd that she has forgotten to talk to the owner. Than we understood that the stuff was telling lies. The same thing happens against the safe box; it did not work.
Location and proximity to Colosseum and Forum is excellent. Great location if you want to spend your evenings at a bar/nightclub.... to mature couple, with a young child, this was way to noisy.
Located near a bar/club which plays loud music from 22:00 to 2:00, 7 days per week. Required to pay upfront and if you book multiple nights, no refund is provided if you want to cancel subsequent nights to go to another hotel.
Location, value for money!
Noise of the restaurant and streets! No free wifi in rooms only at breakfast!
The location is absolutely amazing, walking distance to absolutely everything! The shower functions would have to be the coolest, multiple directions of water and a built in radio.
The staff seemed to be bothered by simple questions or requiring help in general.
The location and the staff. The first floor terrace is amazing and lovely to relax after sightseeing. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere
Nothing! I have been 5 times in the past 2 years and will continue going for as long as I can!
We were a little concerned after reading reviews about noise, but we had no such problems. The staff were fantastic and even had flowers and champagne put in our room for our anniversary. Location couldn't be any better, really pleased with our choice. Breakfast was also large and tasty.
Literally across the street from the Coliseum, with other ruins around the corner! Great photos by leaning out my balcony window. Good soundproofing on windows to block street noise. Staff was friendly and very accommodating for a solo traveler. My room was large and clean. I departed too early in the morning for breakfast but was picked up exactly on time by the hotel-arranged taxi to the airport. My friends and I had a delicious late lunch at the roof-top restaurant with a fabulous house red wine to accompany the incredible view. I would definitely stay here again.
Dinner patrons of the hotel's roof-top restaurant (Italians eat LATE)did not seem to know it is also a hotel. At the end of their meal they would linger outside the restaurant, 4 feet from my door (with a screaming baby), to finish chatting.
The location just the best, across The Colosseum(could see through the room's window) ,near metro station and bus stop. And Classic bathroom :)
Wifi was unreachable.
New bed, new interior, great breakfast and a view
Parking in Rome!
Location can't be best, close to the city attractions and metro stations. You can wonder around by foot. Rooms are big and clean. There are a bit on its own at the 2nd floor of the building (I was at second part of the building which is 5min from other entrance and reception desk). Staff was nice and friendly.
Reception desk is "hidden" in the caffe owned probably by the same owner. Those nice poor ladies sit in a room literarily 2x1.5m. There work from 10am which is a bit uncovinient if you are early mover.
Excellent location for sight seeing. Having breakfast overlooking the Colloseum was awesome. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was newly fitted with an amazing shower. Was not expecting too much after reading the reviews but was pleasantly surprised
The only down side was no lift and our room was on the 2nd floor but this was not too much of a problem for us.
The location is amazing, across the road from the ruins of the gladiators training grounds (no-one told us this but we found out later). We had to climb some unglamour stairs to the second floor and had a lovely surprise for the modern room and decor. The breakfast in the restaurant was enough for the whole day.
Seems its like an add on to the Royal Cafe but once we figured this out we found the small closet that is reception. The bar below partied until 3am in morning, but small price to pay for great location.
Everything was OK the location is the best, with the metro and tram you can go to the best places, the room was new, very clean and quiet, if your room is near the bar it's gonna be a little noise. The staff was very professional and helpful.
Great location, Low price, but we can rarely see colosseo. I thkin it's fair enough.
Location perfect Roof garden restaurant superb view
Shower didnt work properly No coffee or tea making facility in room Breakfast only included 1 hot drink - additional hot drinks very expensive
The location is really perfect-right opposite Colosseo, all the sights are 10-20 minutes walk! The room is rather spacious for two people, bathroom is big and clean, towels are changed every day! Breakfast includes orange juice, coffee, croissant, several slices of ham and cheese, bread, butter and jam! It's quite enough for morning)the staff is really friendly and always eager to help!
The only minus is that at night it's a bit noisy, as there are plenty of bars downstairs! But it stops at about 1-2am! Earplugs save the problem, so it won't spoil your vacation!no other minuses)
This hotel's location directly across from the Colosseum can provide spectacular views from some rooms. It is also a short walk from the Rome metro system which provides an easy way to travel all over the city (check out the passes online) The hotel restaurant is quite good (if somewhat pricy) and has an interesting range of items available. Breakfast has a excellent variety of cold items and is served in the restaurant. Catia, who manages the hotel, is a treasure - a wonderful resource for anything you need in Rome from directions to finding a store for a particular item.
Visitors should be aware that this is a hotel on a busy street in a very lively neighborhood. If you are looking for total peace and quiet; look elsewhere. If, like me, you live in a city and are used to some noise, the views from the room more than make up for the inconvenience.
