Nothing was an issue for the employees.
The doors to the rooms, need some attention.
Location: 14 minute walk from Pisa Central train station, close to museums and bars and cafetarias and restaurants, close to the campo dei miracoli; nice reception area with lounge, marbled floors; breakfast includes fruit, yoghurt, bread (white/brown), croissants, pastries, ham cheese, tomatoes, mozzarela, milk, coffee, tea, a variety of juices; hotel has an 19th century old world charm
Location, lots of history, unique hotel
The room was not very good, very old and luck of confort
Beautiful old building, no "plastic" anywhere, helpful friendly staff, great location.
The breakfast (supposed to be included in Booking.com's price, but was not, as not memorable.
Everything was within walking distance, the leaning tower, local high street shops and cafes and even the airport is only a 30 minute walk! Staff are nice and friendly. Apretivo from 6-8.30 is a great bonus.
Rooms could do with being updated, the locks on the door aren't great and the bathrooms are very dingy.
Location overlooking the river. Beautifully preserved history including old kitchen, drawing rooms etc. all open for viewing. Lovely roof terrace to relax on. Staff very helpful organising early morning taxi and snack.
Bathroom was old but it was clean and in keeping with the charm of the property.
This old hotel is in a great location, its very charming and the staff were lovely. A real old school hotel, don't expect mod cons at all. We had to leave early so missed breakfast so cant review this but would recommend for character.
Our room was at the back of the hotel, backing onto a lane way... nightclub going until 330am. Very noisy.
The hotel staff very efficient and courteous from desk staff to young lady in the dining room. The hotel was warm and we were given a nice room overlooking the Arno river.
Great location for the Leaning Tower and Pisa Centrale station. Amazing old and very beautiful building. Breakfast was very good.
Did not sleep due to noise. It is a very old building with no floor coverings so heard other guests coming and going during the night and there was a lot of noise outside our window till the early hours - even though we overlooked a quiet courtyard. The bathroom was tiny but adequate. Requested twin beds but the sheet and duvet covered both beds, so had to use a towel and a second duvet from cupboard as bedding for my bed. Wifi was very patchy.
Just about everything....this hotel is a of a dying breed and is a credit to its charming owner
Some noise transfer from corridors to rooms. Slightly ancient bed despite immaculate bedlinen. Poor coffee
Service, room, place where situated,
Something that made the bed linen itchy. Dont know whatever it was....
Beautiful decor, pretty terrace, wonderful atmosphere, great staff. It's just my kind of place.
It can be noisy at night because the sound echos from the nearby streets. It doesn't trouble me but if you are a light sleeper you might not be happy here.
Pleasant, helpful staff. Good breakfast. Easy reach of station and main tourist area.
Bathrooms need modernising but the retro fittings have some charm.
The 4th floor terrace. The old fashioned glory of the building. Excellent breakfast. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff.
Beds are too hard
Great value, overlooking the river and about 10 minutes walk from the rail station. A sense of faded grandeur but a comfortable and spacious room, albeit with antique plumbing and wonky door handles (as also pointed out by Lonely Planet). The staff were extremely helpful. We also enjoyed an evening aperitif in the roof garden. A short walk into the old university area with a good choice of reasonable restaurants.
Amazing location right on the river and a very short walk to the leaning tower. rooms were old but keep in very nice condition, it gave it a nice olden style feeling. Staff very helpfull and happy to help with everything. the hotel itself is amazing, great to just explore and walk around the manny winges and levels. there's always food and drinks to be had and breakfast is very good with a massive selection, just ask the waiters what drink you will like and they will get anything for you. Great places to base yourself to explore the town. WIFI is free!!
WIFI on ground level did not work for us as you have to put in a phone number to receive the password by SMS, our overseas sim cards did not receive the sms. but WIFI is still available on 3rd and 4th floor by asking reception, and it is free.
old stone walls revealed in places location helpful staff breakfast
The location and the architecture. For the price it was acceptable. Near the best gelato in town! Breakfast was good.
The communal facilities felt more like a boarding school! Could easily have put an en suite in the large bedroom. Place generally a bit tired looking but location and price made up for it. Would not have wanted to spend more than a couple of days here.
we loved the location, easily accessable to restaurants, shops, the tower, buses and the river. The staff were extremel helpful.
Location, staff, value for money, afternoon happy hour
Friendly and very helpful staff. Every floor was full of surprises - lovely public areas in Art Deco style. The roof terrace was great. Fantastic location in terms of view across the river and central location. The building was a bit tired in places, but clean and comfortable, and full of character.
Noisy at night, because of it's central location. Take ear plugs! Some rooms seemed better than others, but we were very happy with ours.
The central location of the hotel- easy walking distance to everywhere and plenty of great places to eat nearby.Rooms, towels and bed linen were spotless. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely roof terrace. View over the Arno from spacious rooms filled with period furniture and fitted with mosquito blinds.
Could be very noisy at night from people congregating at the nearby bridge- obviously not the hotel's fault!
The view Breakfast was yummy and fresh Value for money Good location
Electrical out of the Stone Age sadly no hairdryer, iron and took quiet a while to charge phone and iPad and the lock on the door was old world!
