The hotel is well situated on the central square of Varenna. We were upgraded to a lakeview room with a wonderful view across Lake Como. The staff were helpful Whilst we appreciate that it was early October, it was disappointing that the swimming pool was closed even though the weather was hot. The restaurant was very large, and could do with partitioning in some way when the number of diners is limited. |

The Hotel Royal Victoria is superbly positioned on the intimate and quiet main piazza of Varenna with its two early medieval churches and with stunning views of Lake Como. Less crowded and turisty than Bellagio (we visited in early September) Varenna is a perfect base to explore the area. Be sure to ask for a room facing the lake with a balcony .It is well worth paying the extra for this. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the hotel's private gardens and the lake was a delight. Our room was comfortable if a little small (as was the bathroom) but these minor quibbles paled into insignificance when you have the balcony and breathtaking panorama of lake and mountains. Overall we found this to be a pleasant, relaxing,comfortable hotel., The only thing I would mention is that you can hear the TV and some conversation from the adjacent rooms. We were in Room 151. It certainly didn't spoil our stay and was soon remedied anyway by a couple of (polite) knocks on the wall after 11pm ! |

Well located within easy reach of most of Varennas’ sights, restaurants and amenities. A quiet relaxing atmosphere with helpful staff. A little expensive for the quality and size of room. |

Varenna is a beautiful place and hotel location is perfect This is the most overpriced hotel we ever stayed in. Poor service, hotel facilities and our room, very limited breakfast were not worth the money we payed. |

To be perfectly honest the only thing we liked was the balcony view of the lake from our room. The room was very out dated, air-conditioning did not work (32' outside), bathroom was old and moldy, was refused room service at 6:30pm on the Friday evening because the kitchen staff did not work until 7:30pm. This is not a 4 Star rating hotel, more like a 2/3 Star. Completely overpriced. |

La vue sur le lac est splendide, l'hotel est au centre de la ville et est proche des facilités et commodités. L'acceuil est un peu froid, les chambres trop simples et mal isolées du bruit des voisins et un prix excessif. |

Die Lage des Hotels direkt am See und das tolle Panorama / Ausblick beim Frühstücken auf der Terrasse. Das sehr freundliche Personal. Die Duschkabine ist/war viel zu klein (60x60) für ein Haus dieser Kat. Die dreitägigen Motorsägen Geräusche des Nachbarn, haben uns etwas genervt. |

Wir hatte einen wunderbaren Seeblick und die Betten waren außerordentlich gut. Die MItarbeiter an der Rezeption waren besonders freundlich und zuvorkommend. Beim Frühstück hatten wir einmal eine Bedienung, die um 10:00 Uhr nicht mehr bereit war, uns noch etwas Kaffee nachzubringen, darüber haben wir uns geärgert. Ich hätte gern einen Lift gehabt und ihn nicht nur bei der Beförderung von Gepäck benutzen wollen. |
