-nice stuff -nice breakfast
-room is small
Breakfast was good and lobby was nice.
Rooms were a little dated and getting to the WiFi area was terrible!
Central location, close to the conference center Fortezza and to the sightseeing targets. Built away from the street, thus very quiet.
the hotel is in a very beautiful and clean building
room very small and no wireless connection in the room and breakfast area
The staff were all very kind and patient, especially the maître d'hôtel who had a great playlist. The hotel is located in the center, near everything, in a rather calm part of the city. The rooms are cozy and nice.
No internet in the rooms is the main problem I had, but the common space is nice enough for it not to have bothered me that much. The breakfeast is not really great.
Location is great. It takes only 10 minutes to go to the center.
The room is too small and there are mosquitos
NICE building, large yard, big room (compare to other hotels in Italy)
You need monocles if you want to watch TV as the TV is in the size of your mnobile screen, breakfast is very poor
Good location, on site parking although expensive.
car parking, it took a while to find it in the car and florence has a terrible parking system. so having its own parking on site is a really good hep- if you come by car. my advice is to avoid taking a car. Breakfast was good, rooms were nice and the staff were friendly
The internet in the room was weak, however the internet in the communal area was sufficient
The atmosphere of the hotel gave a glimpse to a forgotten world. Peaceful place in a hectic city.
The hotel is sited in a optimal location
No Internet inside rooms!!
Close to most attractions, very friendly staff and a villa with a touch of class
The daily tariff of 8 Euro per person for the pool was a bit much. We were there there for five nights and used the pool on four occasions so had to add 64 euro to the tariff.
Off road parking, beautiful hotel, very clean and great facilities
No air conditioning in the hotel room
Good price for level of hotel, close to down town and all service of city...recommendable to stay with family also
Good location only 15 mins walk from the centre of Florence and 10 mins from good restaurants. The hotel had character and charm with lovely public rooms. Swimming pool was a real bonus! Good selection at breakfast.
The man on the front desk when we arrived was not very welcoming and friendly, unlike all the other staff.
Staff are helpful. Breakfast ok.
Noisy. Need renovation. Quite Old and dark
The royal hotel is an old building so if you prefer a more modern experience it isn't for you, but if you prefer an authentic Italian experience then go for it. The staff were friendly and the grounds are lovely. We travelled in a large group and in most hotels some rooms are better than others, but the staff kindly moved a friend who wasn't happy with her room. There are plenty of shops and cafés in walking distance. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of Florence.
The pool area is lovely but you can't use it until after 1.30pm and then it costs 8 euros. We wouldn't have minded paying 8 euros if we could use it all day. However there aren't many hotels in Florence with pools and the others we saw were much more expensive than the Royal Hotel.
Good location, nice small garden, some atmosphere of old private house, helpful reception staff.
It is definitely very "tired", the room for four was very small, we had leaks from the ceiling in the bathroom and awful smell of toilet all over the room. I guess the system is old but it was hardly bearable. The breakfast was worse than anywhere before in Italy, even coffee seemed of poor quality. The pool is open only from 13-30 till 19-00, it is small and costs additional 8 euros per use. Next time I will not choose this place for a stay for sure.
Good location, friendly staff, great breakfast room and lounge area
Had to pay to use the pool area - even to sunbake? That seems a little strange.
Easy parking & 15 minute walk to Duomo. What a find! Lovely garden with pool, refined period feel to house. Good breakfast. Excellent recommendation for dinner given by friendly staff and nice place for pre dinner drinks at hotel. Thank you!
We loved staying here. The pool was great (although they really shouldn't charge for it). We also liked the breakfast. It wasn't too far from central Florence but felt great to stay somewhere set apart from all the tourists.
Paying for the pool
The staff was great, polite and very helpful. The hotel is so beautiful and have an past atmosphere. Location fine with easy access to downtown, airport and surrounding highways. A hotel you want to visit again. Great with the pool in the summer heat though the price ought to be included in the hotel price.
The Wi-fi in the ground floor worked really good, it would have been perfect if it was available in the rooms upstairs as well.
The two men and one lady working the front desk were all very pleasant and very helpful. We had a great stay. After a rough start at another place we decided to book Hotel Royal at last minute and it was worth every penny; it is a beautiful hotel with lots of personality. The back courtyard was so pretty and the pool was also very refreshing after a very hot beginning of the day. It was also close to the train station which made it convenient when booking tours.
The only thing I can think of is that the pillows on the bed were too flat. Loved everything else!
The staff were very friendly and had a great sense of humour. Selection at breakfast was good.
Wifi only worked in shared downstairs areas, not in bedrooms. Even though it is stated on the booking confirmation that the pool is an extra cost, we did not think this was made clear enough at the time of booking.
