It is located right in the centre of Catania and provides all you need, except maybe a fridge. we booked the very same day just to have a stay for the night to get to our flight, thus we had a great deal I guess
Staff, though he was very friendly and trying, did not speak English at all
I liked only the t.v. and location.
otherwise everything was awfull. No shampoo in bathroom. Towels looked grey instead of white. Poor breakfast, stale bread. Only the tea and coffee were aceptable. My wife also saw a cochroach in the bathroom. T he first and last visit to this hotel.
Rooms were really nice and clean. Hotel is easy to find and it is in the centre. There is a bus station in front of the hotel with direct and regular connection to the airport (very convenient).
The guy at the reception spoke only italian and didnt have any knowledge of other language. Not even the basic one, like numbers or terms connected with check in. But on the other hand, he was nice and tried to be helpful and in the end it worked. Just brush up your italian vocabulary.
Staff always more than helpful hotel clean and well located.
I've been at Rubens before, breakfast was much better. Hotel needs a good upgrade
Very small shower with shower outlet broken
Location, price, beds are ok.
Rude staff Room in need of updating Mold on ceiling Cockroaches
Quality of rooms.
We liked the friendly staff and a great location. The shower was also nice. The room is aldo very cheap.
Aircon didn't work well. The hotel wasn't clean, and everything was old and a bit scruffy.
I like every thing there, the friendly way we were welcomed. The manigment and staff are exellent. The cleaning of the room.the location. We are looking forward to go again.
There is nothing that we did not like
We arrived 15 minutes after 8pm. Nobody answered our door rings. Luckily I had an Italian phone and was able to call the number on the door. We were "greeted" by a grumpy, middle-aged, scowl-wearing, incredibly unhappy man who pointed at the open door to our room. We walked into our room, questioning the strangest check-in of all time. The man was then at our door reprimanding us for being 15 being late and not speaking enough Italian. We speak Spanish, English, and broken Italian but we got yelled at by this horrible man for being in Italy and not speaking Italian. He took our money, did not explain one thing about breakfast or check-out. Nothing. By far the rudest experience we have had in our (quite extensive) travels. The next morning, after sleeping in our own sweat because the air conditioner was busted and we obviously would not get one bit of assistance from Cranky Man, we went to breakfast. We were relieved to find the man nowhere in site. We were having our very simple breakfast when the coffee machine runs out of milk. There is apparently no reception person working at this hotel. Instead, I asked the housekeeping woman if she could help assist the milk dilemma. She said not one word, but begrudgingly refilled the milk and went on her way, brushing off our appreciations and thanks (in Italian). 5 minutes after 11am she rings our door bell and yells at us 3 syllables: "Eee-le-ven" which at this point confirmed our suspecting check-out time. Never, ever in my life would I send my enemy to this hotel.
The reception was closed at night and some misunderstanding made us wait in front of the building for one hour until midnight. A price we had to pay for a late flight and a late check in.
Located in the main street of Catania, close to tourist attractions. It is necessary to visit the bazaar in Via Gisira. Staff was friendly and helpful, but difficult to speak English. The room was clean, but very small.
Huge old rooms, comfortable beds.
brekfast is not free or inc in price
Very good location in the middle of the town.
Not too easy to find parking place.
Very central convenient location. On the second floor of an old-fashioned building; no problem getting in and comfortable enough.
No lounge to sit in, but that's not unusual I suppose.
Very central position and close to the bus stop for the airport
The hotel is located almost in the city center. It is a very comfortable hotel
The personnel doesn't speak English
- great breakfast, even several local cakes! -very competent staff - the multilingual library - the hotel is well situated, close to "ETNA road", great for shopping and for strolling in the city center -it's great that we got a room not facing the central busy street, because we like to spend relaxed and quiet holidays
- we wish we had something salted for breakfast
not very friendly staff,no receptionist from 8pm till 7am,lift need to be changed, boring breakfast,no coffee.
the lady that works there and is responsible for cleaning-was very kind and nice. gave us a cup of espresso.it's nice in the morning. the place is save and very central.
the room is quite poor. and the internet connection worked only in one corner of the room.but everything what You need for simple travel is there.
