Villa Gabriella is a small guest house on Lido Island, home to the Venice Film Festival. This historic Art Nouveau building features a large terrace with views of the Adriatic Sea. Rooms are spacious....
Score from 106 reviews Very good
Quite a walk from the ferry stop. Far from Venice. Poor breakfast. Uncomfortable bed (king bed was two small beds put together and thin pillows. Sad overall feeling. Not worth the money, overpiced. Pictures outshine the reality way too much. I'd give it a 3 or 2 stars. In a room on the first floor you get a feeling you stay outside.
Loved coming home to a quiet hotel on the water after crazy Venice
Too warm in room even with windows open.
Location Friendly and helpful staff Clean and comfy rooms Good choice at breakfast Views from room at front of hotel Reasonable priced mini bar in room
Having to pay extra for wi-fi Bar shut in evening
Views service food staff facilities
The walk to the pier
Our room faced across the lagoon to st marks and only minutes from boats
The Lido is a pleasant alternative to Venice with easy access to Water Taxi and Bus services which are only a 10 minute walk from the Hotel. The Beaches on the Adriatic side are worth a visit if the weather is good as well as hiring a bike (8 euro per day from the Hotel) to cycle the circumference of the Island and stop for a spot of shopping and a Cappuccino on your travels. The Vapporetto stop is serviced regularly and nearby by a good number of local shops and restaurants. Its worth paying the extra to get a room with a balcony as the views in the evening are stunning, its not often you can watch a 60m tall ship slide past your balcony!
This is a fine hotel. Close to the centre of Venice, but in a quiet neighbourhood.
The bathtub was under a sloped ceiling. We had to sit down while taking a shower.
Excellent hotel staff very friendly room comfortable really nice breakfast we had excellent view of lagoon
Beautiful views of lagoon from our room and balcony. Fridge in room, clean towels every day and shower gels etc. Good breakfast, lots of it.
Location from boat terminal was a bit of a walk, especially when carrying suit cases.
Friendliness and concern of staff
Breakfast & location was close to the beach & close to water tram stop
All aspects of staying in the most comfortable little hotel on the Lido , yet ,being so near the most fabulous city in Europe, Wonderful experience !!!
Noisy ya ya`s from south of England on our last night , causing a disturbance at 1.45 am !! Not good.
Staying on the Lido allows you to draw breath after the amazing sights and bustling crowds of Venice. This hotel is well-served by the ACTV waterbus, and near (on bicycles hired from the hotel) to the LIdo beaches. Ample breakfasts and a small bar. Close to restaurants and the heart of the island. Our room with a balcony overlooking the lagoon was perfect
It was a very comfortable and friendly hotel. The view across the water to Venice from our room was beautiful. The island of Lido was a lovely break from busy Venice. It was a nice walk along the canal to catch the water bus across o Venice and it cost 7 euro.
Nothing to dislike
Convenient location, superb outlook, comfortable facilities and helpful staff, amongst whom Anna-Lucia was outstanding.
Shower over bath is dangerous for elderly users.
Rooms quite small
Perfect romantic getaway. Lovely breakfast with good coffee. Very friendly.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel and we were very impressed by the staff who were very helpful and friendly, by the accommodations which were wonderful including a lovely balcony overlooking the lagoon and the breakfast which included not only the traditional Italian brioche but a full breakfast with, eggs, bacon, cold meats, fruit, yogurt, cheese, cereals and different kinds of breads. The location is superb as it is only a short walk to the vaporetto stop. This a perfect alternative to sleeping in Venice. The Lido in my opinion is the best of both worlds. You can have an island beach experience and be only 20 minutes by vaporetto to the world's most enchanting city. I can't wait to come back!
Staff, location (Lido). Lido is a great island to relax from an ectic day in Venice
Slightly far from the Vaporetti stop
The view was excellent. Staff very obliging and helpful. We would definitely come again. Also, we found a very nice restaurant in the town of Lido. Also enjoyed the free 10 minute massage.one other good point- it was quiet compared to hustle and bustle of Venice.
Room size was small but ok for 3 nights. The walk from the taxi ferrie was further than expected, especially with suitcases. It took us about 15 minutes to walk it.
Comparatively low price in Venice. The view is good.
Have to walk 10 minutes from the port in Lido.
The breakfast menu could have been a little more suited to my AngloSaxon palet.
Charming hotel. Loved the balcony. Great views of Venice & the sunset every evening. Very close to the vaporetto stop & good restaurants. Close to the beach as well.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, and included some hot dishes. We had a room with a balcony and a view of Venice which we loved. The Lido was easy to get to and from Venice via the vaporetto.
It is not free wifi - you only get the first 20 minutes free and then you have to pay. It was very poor wifi, and most of the time we couldn't get a connection. Also if more than 1 person wants to use wifi, the other person has to log out.
Proximity to water bus service and beaches. Great breakfast, very helpful staff.
Room 3 was very dark with only a small window looking onto a central courtyard. We asked for a different room and we were moved into a room with view over canal the next morning.
