Museums, galleries and historical sites were very interesting. But most sites were much too crowded. Generally we find that the first week or two of April is less crowded in western Europe but this is not the case in Rome. We wonder if part of it is cruise ship crowds being bused in from the coast. Old city centers aren't designed for that amount of people.

If you want to visit any tourist attractions, book them before you arrive in Rome. We tried to book things like the Coliseum and the Vatican the night before we wanted to go, and there were no tickets available. The main way we got around the city was by walking...there is definitely lots to do and lots to see. There are a lot of tourists, so it can sometimes take a bit longer to get around. We had a few recommendations for restaurants, which were great, but we also checked restaurants via google maps and the reviews that people had left...there are so many great dining options and you certainly won't go hungry while you're there!

This was our second visit to Rome.
This was our second visit to Rome. We stayed 2 nights before heading to Naples to join our tour. We are heading back to Rome to spend another 3 nights to discover all the hidden sights we didn’t manage to see when we visited previously. We have booked a Golf Cart tour to do this and are hoping we’ll get to see things away from the main attractions. From our previous visit would highly recommend seeing the Vatican, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon etc, etc. Rome is such an easy city to get around whether on foot or by the Hop On Hop Off Bus.

Out of the 2 weeks I stayed in Italy and I stayed in many places this was my favorite. Between the terrace, the location, the comfort of the bed and the blackout shades it was just an incredible stay. Fausta the owner is super friendly and accommodating. She even had some amazing desserts in the lounge room.

There’s a heatwave in italy so even after I have checked out, they made it very easy for me to rest in the hotel and even gave me towels to have a shower.
