Had a great time, would go back anytime.
Our family loved Salvadonica. It was the highlight of our trip to Tuscany. The location couldn't be better with easy access to Florence, Siena, Chianti, and other areas of Tuscany. The setting is unsurpassed with views of the hills, olive orchards, and vineyears in all directions. The staff in the office and in the restaurant were very nice, friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Wi-fi was so-so. It was best in the public areas and very limited if at all in the rooms.
Stunning jaw-dropping views amazing local ingredients, lovely peaceful area for country walks, friendly helpful staff
Restaurant can get a bit busy but staff are lovely. Wifi not the strongest.
We had three rooms, all of a very high standard, beautifully converted from different parts of the original farm (?) buildings. Ours was huge, originally a byre with stunning vaulted ceiling and tiling. Big comfortable beds. Rooms were very well looked after with regular new towels and sheets. Bathrooms had constant hot water, showers, not baths, but that was fine, and ours had a bidet and twin basins. Air con was great and controlled by a remote. The whole room experience was excellent, I can't think of any negatives at all. The staff were very welcoming, hospitable, helpful and charming. Wonderfully helpful with any enquiries about the hotel or tourist activities etc. And little gifts were left in your room most days, a lovely touch. There was very much a family hotel feeling to it. Facilities were great, the fact that there were fewer that 30 rooms, I'd guess, meant we could always get in the pool, find sunbeds, get on the tennis court or the boules pitch etc. The lounge/TV/games room was great for the kids to amuse themselves, and for Wifi when it struggled a bit in the bedrooms or the restaurant. There was a wide selection for breakfast: Cereals, fruit, breads, croissants, cooked items, cold meat, cheese, wonderful cakes! and unusual items such as bruschetta. The restaurant did a good range of dishes at lunchtime and in the evening, all very nicely produced and presented. Prices comparable to other restaurants. And the Salvadonica wine was very good! The waiter/waitressing was capable, friendly and even enthusiastic which made for a very pleasant experience. The setting is gorgeous; rolling Tuscan hills in the countryside about half an hour from Florence and easy access to San Gimignano and Siena. San Casciano nearby is worth a visit. Altogether a very comfortable, happy and memorable stay.
No negatives at all. My wife says she is hard to please and always finds something wrong, but nothing at all this time! Praise indeed. Wish I got such good reviews!
This is an excellent hotel in a magnificent location, with amazing views over the Tuscan hills. Excellent staff and service and a very good restaurant serving their own lovely wine. Highly recommended for a luxury break.
The soundproofing in our room was very poor. While this did not cause us a problem, it might have if we had had very noisy neighbors.
Amazing hotel ! Felt like home.. Staff are so nice and friendly, great food, amazing view ! Will definitely come back again !!
The buildings were beautifully restored with so many exceptional details which made our stay so memorable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Pool, food, room size, location. Peaceful, nice place to relax.
A/C was set too high at 24. Lots of flies and bees (I got stung).
Location is excellent and grounds are very wel kept. Staff is friendly and accomodating
Restaurant was ok - was disappointed in the food served at Dinner.
The Salvadonica looks over fantastic Tuscan countryside as is a relaxing and charming place to stay. Our room was located in one of the many old building, which was decorated to fit the Tuscan style. The bathroom was modern and clean. The hotel is located a good distance from Florence to visit, however you are away from the hustle and tourist traffic which overruns the city in the summer months.
The food was not as good as we had anticipated. We tried a variety of different dishes, however they often lacked flair and seasoning. We had to wait a considerable amount of time for service once the restaurant was full, with our waiter continuously disappearing. Unless you were at the pool early, it was impossible to get a sun lounger, with there not being enough available for the number of guests staying. The 'fitness' facilities were not sufficient, with only a running machine (in the massage room) and a cross trainer outside in the grounds.
Great location, restaurant and staff
Poor wifi connection in the room
Clearly the owners and support staff know how to anticipate and provide for the needs of the experienced and discerning traveller. This tranquil and charming oasis among the hills of Tuscany outside Florence has become a stop we will include in the future. The room, food and facilities are high quality, and the guests you share your stay with are worth meeting and part of the memorable experience.
If there was something missing it falls into the category of 'non essential' and not worthy of mentioning should it unfairly detract from the positive experience of the stay.
The view and the location
The breakfast was poor and cheaply displayed. It is a busy place with 31 rooms and they Will built another 3 for next year.
+ surroundings + quite and peaceful place + really close to Florence + breakfast + very good food for resonable prices, we stayed for a lunch or a dinner often + football matches available at reception + sunbed for everybody
- it is true that wifi did not work properly but we came to relax and not to work or play online games so we didn´t care - water in pool was quite cold
We stayed four nights at Salvadonica, which was perfect!!! Each day was full of day trips to local sights or to Florance. Excellent location for all of this. The staff is wonderful! Francesco in particular was extremely helpful! The restaurant was fabulouse! The wine excellent! All in all 10 out of 10!!! We would definately go back!!
Wifi was weak in our room. I could access it at all.
The location was fenomenal! What a view every morning! Breakfast was very good, also the restaurant served a top class local menu. Staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions. Poolside amazing!
Wifi didn't work everywhere. Only in a certain area. But who cares when the view is breathtaking.
The views are absolutely stunning all around. The staff was always helpful and keep the whole place clean. And the food...excellent, from breakfast to dinner. There was a great variety in the morning (even eggs!), and dinner was always satisfying. We want to come again and stay longer!
Our only problem was a faulty refrigerator which was quickly replaced. Otherwise, there's nothing to dislike.
The views and the grounds of Salvadonica were beautiful! We absolutely loved the pool area, which was very peaceful and overlooked vineyards. The restaurant was delicious- food was very fresh and seasonal. We ate there for all of our meals during our stay :). The rooms were very clean and charming. The whole resort felt very intimate but not crowded at all, though there were many people staying there. We will never forget the outdoor watercolor class we took there!
Beds need to be improved on. That, along with the room not feeling super cool at night (it was very hot out during our stay so the air conditioning didn't feel cool enough being on the top floor), made sleep a bit difficult.
Beautiful environment . Rooms raw but quite decent with white background . Wonderful chef with great green chilli sauce paste. Great food with wonderful view.
No hot water for shower one evening & in the morning . Didn't tell us to put the towels on the floor in order to replace fresh ones even though very obviously they were already soiled. A lot of big mosquitoes , they should give insect repellant to hotel guests.
Stunning location - restaurant was excellent with great cuisine. Perfect for exploring Florence, Siena and Chianti area. Peaceful and relaxing
No mirror in bedroom
The location is beautiful, very relaxing, you need a car to be able to get around I think. Staff was very friendly and helpful and rooms were beautifully decorated and well kept.
absolutely adorable place, bit rooms, nice food, own vine, swimming pool. Highly recommend, definitely will return.
The location to the wine country and a lot of the small towns around Tuscany.
The location was fantastic, complete quiet
Not much to do there when raining
