Hotel Villa San Pio is on Rome's green Aventine Hill. Made up of 3 separate villas, it offers free parking and quiet gardens. The elegant rooms feature hardwood floors and decorative walls.
Score from 756 reviews Excellent
Free Wi-Fi and flat-screen satellite TV are standard in all iQ rooms. This modern hotel offers a free gym, sauna and rooftop terrace, a 5 minute walk from Termini Train Station.

In a 19th-century building, the Quirinale is a 10-minute walk from the Colosseum. This historic hotel is connected to Rome Opera House through a passageway in its leafy courtyard.
Score from 4135 reviews Very good
Offering panoramic views of Saint Peter's Square from its rooftop terrace, Residenza Paolo VI is actually a former monastery, and is the only hotel right on Piazza San Pietro.
Score from 460 reviews Excellent
Staff very attentive and friendly. Complimentary afternoon tea from 4pm, which was well received after all the sightseeing.
Lack of evening bar snacks. TV channels very limited to local service.
Decorations to a high standard & in keeping with Italian culture & history, spotlessly clean.
Fabulous breakfast, welcome drink of freshly squeezed orange juice-nice touch. friendly staff and very clean. Highly recommend
It is not so close to any public transport
Great location, beautiful environment, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast
staff very friendly and accommodating beautifully decorated hotel.
our room was a big single! too small for double. decorated very dark, no main light (library room) no tea/coffee making in room at least 25 minutes walk from everything
Beautiful hotel! The manager went out of his way to assist us with a problem we had with the car rental company. He made several phone calls and offered advice. Delicious breakfast
That due to our flight time, we had to leave early. Wish we could have stayed longer.
We chose this hotel primarily for it's location, as we were visiting family who live nearby. It has a lovely quiet elevated location with fabulous views over Rome from just around the corner. Including the famous keyhole view of St Peters. Also very close, walking distance, from many main sightseeing attractions. Close to Ostiense station which is a very good connection on regional trains from Fumicino and quicker than Termini. Would definitely recommend a visit to Eately, beside Ostiense station. If you are a foodie - it's a delight! Bliss!
Our room was gorgeous and the fact that it had a large private terrace, just made it perfect. My girlfriend lost her phone in a taxi and the hotel reception staff could not have been more helpful in trying to retrieve it. The hotel also gave us a couple of small bottles of Prosecco when they realised it was my girlfriend's birthday.
Everything especially the upgrade!
Beautifully romantic hotel. Very relaxing in a peaceful location. Wonderful buffet breakfast. Staff very informative & nothing is too much trouble. We have stayed here 4 times now & the standard at this small boutique hotel is always exceptionally high.
On arrival the reception were extremely helpful and friendly. We had booked a standard double room but on check in they informed us that we had been upgraded to a junior balcony suite at no extra cost. The room was beautifully decorated in true Italian style with a huge bed made up of two separate beds which was very comfortable indeed all be it a little firm. The en-suite bathroom was spotless with a jacuzzi bath/shower. The breakfast was excellent with a huge range of cooked meats, cheese, eggs, bacon, pastries and fresh fruits. The fresh orange juice was amazing!!
The only down side was the location. The hotel is situated on top of a hill and would not be suitable for anyone unable to walk any distance. The nearest restaurants and bars are a 15 minute walk away, with the Colosseum a 25 minute walk from the hotel.
Very well-located, stylish hotel in a quiet residential area but close to everything. Only minutes walk from a citrus garden overlooking Rome. Friendly staff, nice breakfast.
Great Location Individually styled rooms
Location, comfort and elegance. Helpful and friendly staff
First room we stayed in was tired and in need of redecoration. No food offering
excellent wifi. breakfast
location, quiet, confort
room a little bit small
In total everything is (or seems to be) dirty : bathroom, bed, walls ... Small windows, no air vent in the bathroom. Very bad experience.
San Anselmo is in some respect very unique hotel, perfectly located, interesting architecture of building. The breakfast is very good.
Although I booked through booking.com superior room, I got only standard one. This was extremely small size what made my stay in it rather uncomfortable. I had to change the room for next night...
-Awesome location and facility -Kind and competent staff -Quality of the overall experience
Extremely beautiful decor, very helpful staff, good breakfast and lounge area with books to borrow (we helped ourselves to and returned a lovely DK guide to Rome) and boardgames. We had a balcony room and jacuzzi bath which was a great surprise. Perfection!
It is a little way out of the centre of Rome, and we didn't find many restaurants or shops nearby (although perhaps we didn't know where to look). We were aware of this before we travelled though and I thought it was a worthwhile trade-off for the quality of the hotel, which it was.
room, food and services
The San Anselmo is in a very quiet and attractive location. The room is quite appealing and comfortable with helpful staff and a satisfying breakfast. Many excellent local restaurants in nearby Testaccio.
The bar area is a bit odd and could be more inviting.
The rooms show a bit of aging
La situation exceptionnelle dans l un des plus beaux endroits de Rome
The Wifi connection was hectic
We had a wonderful stay at San Anselmo. The location of the hotel was perfect for our visit to Rome, the area is picturesque and very quite. We walked most places but there is a good bus service available. Breakfast in their beautiful Dining room was varied and excellent. The staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. There is a wonderful garden to relax in and other seating areas for a pleasant evening drink. If we make a return journey to Rome we would make San Anselmo our base, it is a hotel that is in demand so important to book early.
