Extremely beautiful decor, very helpful staff, good breakfast and lounge area with books to borrow (we helped ourselves to and returned a lovely DK guide to Rome) and boardgames. We had a balcony room and jacuzzi bath which was a great surprise. Perfection!
It is a little way out of the centre of Rome, and we didn't find many restaurants or shops nearby (although perhaps we didn't know where to look). We were aware of this before we travelled though and I thought it was a worthwhile trade-off for the quality of the hotel, which it was.
room, food and services
The San Anselmo is in a very quiet and attractive location. The room is quite appealing and comfortable with helpful staff and a satisfying breakfast. Many excellent local restaurants in nearby Testaccio.
The bar area is a bit odd and could be more inviting.
The rooms show a bit of aging
La situation exceptionnelle dans l un des plus beaux endroits de Rome
The Wifi connection was hectic
We had a wonderful stay at San Anselmo. The location of the hotel was perfect for our visit to Rome, the area is picturesque and very quite. We walked most places but there is a good bus service available. Breakfast in their beautiful Dining room was varied and excellent. The staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. There is a wonderful garden to relax in and other seating areas for a pleasant evening drink. If we make a return journey to Rome we would make San Anselmo our base, it is a hotel that is in demand so important to book early.
Everything was incredible! Great room in a perfect location (for us) All hotels I ever visit will be compared to the San Anselmo.
If you are looking for a very quite spot and in an nice area this is the spot for you. The nearest metro is one stop from the colosseum metro. It is about a ten minute walk from the metro station.
Pretty surroundings, nice outdoor area and breakfast room, very clean.
Front desk could have been friendlier. Didn't feel like I wanted to approach him, felt like I was bothering him. Room was furnished nice but dark and too small. Bathroom was very nice and modern.
Location/area Building itself Breakfast Waiting staff/porters Balcony
Reception staff could have been friendlier/more helpful when we had an issue. Not quite 4* service Needs a touch of paint here and there
The staff was very friendly and willing to help me specially at the front desk Alessandro was very helpful and professional
The room was a nice but it need a little more room for the baggage
From check in to check out, our stay was nothing short of wonderful.
Having to leave :-).
Not sure what to expect when we booked, but man, this is one great little hotel! Awesome staff, nice decorations, beautifully done. Clean and a jacuzzi bath tub, also a mini bar in each room! And the location is also great - in a quiet but very noble area. Great getaway from the busy city!
Friendly and professional staff. Quiet and peaceful location in Rome. Well decorated and themed throughout.
We asked to be moved after 2 nights as our room was directly over the bar and reception it was extremely noisy. The staff were very helpful and moved us to a much better room. Both rooms were on the small side.
Location was peaceful. Beautiful terrace. Fantastic breakfast. Because of location, would stay here again.
Bed too hard. Some of the staff were not particularly willing to be of assistance--then again, others were quite helpful. This area was hit or miss. WIFI not available in our room.
Lazy breakfasts in the courtyard, staff made a real effort to make you comfortable. Parking very useful as on street parking was crowded. Jacuzzi bath great after a long day tramping around Rome.
Air conditioning tended to be either too much or not enough, though the staff tried hard to tune it to our tastes. Jacuzzi shower drenched entire bathroom - needs much better shower screens to use this!
Away from the tourist beaten path but very accessible. We were able to find our way to the metro station very quickly. The front desk staff is extremely helpful. Hotel is extremely charming, with a non-commercialized feel. Architecture is very interesting, as it blends old with modern touches. The breakfast was wonderful.
The jacuzzi tub felt a little small
Perfect Location Immediate neighbourhood is like being in Tuscan village Close to Metro , Testavare, Vatican and everything else so taxis are very Reasonable
Can't say anything negative .
Location and the most of your staff are nice help and friendly
Some rooms not baggage holders for 2 people
The room a were very nice and elegant
Location was not the best - nice neighbourhood but on a big hill. Can't walk well so had to take taxis all the time
the staff were wonderful the décor was amazing
lack of available restaurants nearby
The hotel was in a very peaceful location so we had undisturbed sleep, It was also a short walk to Testaccio in the evening for a variety of restaurants. The hotel room was luxurious and comfortable with the most amazing bathroom, a very enjoyable stay.
Very courteous and helpful staff. Very nice continental breakfast each morning.
We enjoyed our stay and the atmosphere at this small, elegant hotel. The neighborhood, located outside the center of Rome, was quiet and safe. Our breakfasts were delicious with an assortment of meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt and a wide assortment of pastries and cakes. So glad we decided to stay here when in Rome!
