the spaciousness and the peace after the hustle and bustle of the city of Venice. The reluctance of the staff to take on board constructive feedback.

If Venice is the crown, then San Clemente Island Resort is the jewel in the crown. My husband and I have just returned from an idyllic 9 days holiday at the beautiful five star hotel on the island. We travelled from San Marco airport in a Venice Link water taxi to be greeted warmly by the hotel porter who helped us alight from the boat and took care of our luggage. The receptionist was very friendly, showing us to our spacious, decorative room and explaining the geography of the hotel and grounds. All the staff were extremely polite, the rooms were spotless and the grounds very impressive. We love Venice, but could happily have spent the time on the island. The photos of the hotel were very impressive, but nothing could have prepared us for the beauty of this resort. I would love to return to enjoy the hospitality once again.A Huge thank you to all the staff.

Large swimming pool during hot/humid weather. Regular shuttle boat to San Marco Square. Sense of space everywhere inside and out with extensive grounds. Lovely waterside terrace for dinner and courtyard for breakfast. Efficient and friendly staff.

Superb location. Wonderful staff. On arrival we were told we had been upgraded to a larger room and the room was very comfortable. The shuttle ride to San Marco was a delight and shuttles run from 5.40am throughout the day until 2am! The hotel is a great place to relax away from the crowds in Venice. The buffet breakfast was exceptional and as we had to leave before breakfast on the last day to catch a flight, staff at reception arranged a "breakfast bag" for us to take. A great place to stay! One small annoyance - the mosquito in our room! Can't really blame the hotel staff for this though!

Free shuttle boat service to the hotel every 20 minutes. Hotel to San Marco square only 12 minutes! Excellent staff, unique location on private island. Beautiful garden with sweet rabbits! :) Breakfast was also excellent. The staff was cleaned the room twice per day. Even the cheaper room was large enough. We stayed the hotel at the end of the October, but the temperature of the room was pernament 24.8 Celsius. We can't decrease this temperature, because probably the air condition was controlled centrally.

Beautiful relaxing location. Staff default answer to most requests was 'no'. Became somewhat of a joke...not what I expected. From a 5 star hotel.

First of all the location is fantastic. It was the most beautiful place i ever seen. The staff is very helpfull and polite. The luxury is in every little detail. Its perfect for any type of tourism, for couples, family with children and elderly. Its a massive island, and made Venice the second place attraction for me. Very please and will come back for sure.

We had room 352 on the 3rd floor, clean and spacious but uninspired... could get the climate control to meet the desired setpoint and couldn't get the confort level expected. Overall like the location and experience but this didn't fell like the 5* it claims to be. Large public groud, with pool, tennis, putting... It was really hot while we were there and we opted for the indoor Jacuzzi to relax. In fact we would get up, breakfast then head to San Marco around 11am then back to the SPA areound 4pm til 6pm then back to San Marco for dinner... this worked out great everyday. Full buffet breakfast was included but it did sometime run low on bacon and eggs.. The hotel itself is quite large and located ona private island at about 10mins boat ride which runs every 20mins. Found that entertaining and easy to use, compare to the poor folks lugging their lugage across multiples bridges! If you're getting there by train or drop off a rental, I suggest you get on Linea 1 to make the journey down the Grand Canal. If leaving/arriving by plane(VCE), Alilaguna's Linea Blu will get you to and from the airport. Really like the location away from the main islands, the hotel shuttle boat was easy to locate, just a little before the first taxi stand after getting off at San Marco heading toward Doge's palace. Only one bridge (5steps) to cross before making it to the landing area.

Breakfast buffet was excellent. Champagne was available every day if you wanted it. There was plenty of choice and all good quality food. The hotel itself was beautiful, well decorated and well organised. Lots of space for a Venice hotel. Being on its own island means there is a chance to relax and unwind if you want rather than going into town. Although the trip in to Venice is only 15 minutes on the shuttle boat. This runs every 20 minutes most of the day though there are a few 40 minute gaps - you are given a timetable on arrival. Overall and excellent choice and I would stay again Didn't have dinner at the hotel - ate in town. We had to wait and extra 20 minutes once for the shuttle as it was full - only happened once in 5 days though. Beware the free trip to Murrano - they will pressure you into buying some expensive glass.

Really friendly proffessional staff. Excellent shuttle service between the island and San Marco. Excellent breakfast buffett Perhaps not the best value for money - Rooms are smaller than they should be for 250€/ per night. The 35qm room are small.

Relaxing in quiteness after a long day away from the crowd. Breakfast was superb. Shuttle boat to & from St. Marco Sq service including staff was great. Hotel Staff were Fluent in English (big +). Best way to geet to Hotel from Venice Train Station is 1) Take the Ferry boat Euro 6.50 per person to St. Marco Sq trip (20 -25 min) then 2) About 200 meters to your right you will get the free Hotel shuttle total trip (10 - 13 min). Taxi boat from Train station to hotel o/w or vs is around Euro 75 which is too expensive They don't provide an iron & board, because of safety, but their Laundry service is very expensive. For ironing 4 simple items we paid around euro 65.

We were returning to this hotel for our fortieth wedding anniversary, having previously visited for our 35th and a notable birthday five years ago. The location on it's own island yet only a 15 minute private launch ride from San Marco and the building itself are both stunning. The rooms are too (we had a De Luxe Double) with fabulous views and very good amenities. There are however major problems with the way the hotel is run, maybe due to a shortage of staff in certain areas. Notably, whilst the standards of housekeeping of the rooms was good, the service was erratic in its timing and on three occasions drinking glasses were not replaced despite calls to housekeeping. However the major problem relates to breakfast. In a five star hotel you should not have to wait up to 15 minutes to be seated (on a daily basis), nor then be confronted by many items on the buffet simply not being replaced in a timely manner. This seriously lets the whole experience down.

It was nice an comfortable. The location makes it difficult as you have to pay water taxi prices, 110 Euro from the airport to the resort or from resort to Venice is 80 Euro. So it can get expensive. This was the recommendation of the staff even though there was a free shuttle boat.

We had a wonderful stay again at the San Clemente and were upgraded on arrival to a junior suite. The room was lovely and we enjoyed catching the shuttle water taxi to and from St Marks square. We felt this added to our experience and it was lovely to be able to escape the crowds of Venice and come back to the hotel and laze about the pool. The La Machere restaurant was a disappointment. We did not enjoy the food and would not eat there again. We did enjoy the pool side bar food.

Utterly fantastic. We went for my Girlfirends birthday, as a surprise. The grounds and boat ride there are enchanting, and the entrance, especially after dark, is magical. We were upgraded from a deulux Double to a Junior sweet. Amazing. Not a bad word to say. Breakfast in the room is extremly expensive (€77 for the two of us) but a feast and highly enjoyable. Its really nice to be out of the city centre in the quiet.

My wife and I spent a great time in Venice but i could say thanks to the hotel we enjoyed. The hotel is a castle in an isolate island close to St. Mark’s Square. Everything in this hotel is elegant and classic. Some highlights the hotel offered during my stay: 1. there is free suttle boat about every 30mins to the island, extreamly beautiful sight views on the sea. 2. staffs, waiters, cleaners very professional and nice. 3. free breakfast buffet with high standard. 4. the environment outside the castel is great too, gardens, swimming pool, sea, church and rabbits.. the bath basin not perfectly clean.

It was our second time we stayed in this hotel while we was in Venice. First time we stayed there it was excellent on all points, so thats why we decided to stay there again. Everything was great, but the room was a bit worser than before. Even so on registration I was said that we had upgrade. Both times we payed for Deluxe number, but in first time room was nicer; it had bigger bathroom, and "hall". First time we stayed in 208, second time in 230. So if 230 is upgraded room, and not Deluxe, I'm wandering what type 208 room is?
