Magical hotel. Beautifully converted, decorated and furnished conversion of the monastery. Wonderful gardens, beautiful bougainvillea-covered terrace restaurant for breakfast and dinner, tranquil sitting rooms and open spaces, fabulous cloisters, and efficient, helpful and friendly staff. A dream setting for a suberb hotel.

No toilet facilities on the extensive ground floor.

Excellent service, breakfast, grounds and gardens.

Wi-fi was not free. Bottle of water from minibar 6 euro.

35EUR daily charge for internet - when cafes in town offe wireless for free! Concierge service appalling - I shall be noting this on trip Advisor unless someone gets back to me quickly

Beautiful view, the best location in Taormina, very friendly and attentive stuff. The building is wonderful, it is very old and therefore there are some difficulties with the facilities (for example, the condition is very noisy and old). But the beauty of the building exuses everything.

Very noisy condition - you feel like sleeping on the wing of a boeing 737 taking off.

The views are amazing! Garden is lovely and the historic building is interesting to stay in.

The hotel is too expensive for the current state of the hotel....carpets in public areas are stained and worn, furniture in rooms are old and chipped... In bad need of update. Lift was broke most of time. Hotel staff seemed uninterested in attending to guests.

Excellent in every possible respect. 10 out of 10. The fact that Arnold Bennett stayed there in 1927 made it 11 out of 10.

The ambiance was delightful and the staff excellent.

We would have liked more comfortable chairs in the bedroom and on the balcony and it would be nice to have had a tea/coffee making facility.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff incredibly attentive to our every need. We were lucky to be upgraded to a room on the second floor with a wonderful view of the gardens. The food was magnoficent. We had a very memorable dinner at their non Michelin rated Restaurant. One of my favorites while in Sicily. We also enjoyed pre dinner drinks in the patio located in the center of the hotel which had life music both nights. The hotel was great about arranging a driver so that we could visit Mt Erna for the day.

High charge for Internet access.

I highly appreciate the assistance I received when I forgot my id and cc in the room.. The staff followed the matter with me and were very helpful in arranging to send the forgotten items. We were treated with excellent amicability from all the staff in all the places we used in the hotel.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Everything was very high quality. Expensive but worth it.

The view is breathtaking, the building is amazing.

The rooms are a bit too small, understandable considering they were monk's cells.

We enjoyed the luxury, old world charm and fantastic setting of the San Domenico Palace Hotel

It is a gorgeous hotel in a superb location. The furnishings and buildings are elegant and well maintained. We enjoyed the sumptuous breakfast buffet as well as an excellent dinner in the Principe Cerami Restaurant. It is in brief virtually everything that one expects from a five-star European hotel.

There were some mechanical issues with its out-dated and smallish elevators. On the morning of our departure, for example, the main elevator to our floor was out of order.

The interesting origin as a convent and the location, as well as the cloister coutyard and landscaping

The recent builiding additions are not in keeping with the origin, Both the architecture and some of the interiors are fairly poor - could also be more modern and more in keeping, as long as the quality is better than today. E.G. the interior treatment, incl. Dado panellig in the bar and restaurant is not in keeping with the furniture, and the lighting is poor. What the hotel needs is a well qualified architect to carry out a study with clear recommendations so that the hotel really appears as "one of the leading hotels in the world". The maintenenace of bedroom windows, doors and fiurniture is also poor.

Location eccezionale e servizio professionale

Todo el personal del hotel es muy atento, es como tener un concierge en cada uno de los empleados. Sus recomendaciones sobre lugares a visitar o lugares para comer son muy buenas. Taormina es un lugar espectacular y Sn Domenico Palace es aun más. Está muy cuidado el convento sin descuidar el hotel.

Los precios en el restaurante son demasiado elevados.

Eleganza, raffinatezza, grande professionalità

L'albergo è bellissimo e strutturato in modo attraente con sale, saloni con mobili ed oggetti preziosi; la posizione delle terrazze vista mare e verso il sole del mattino consente placide prime colazioni.

Si ode troppo, durante la notte, un boom-boom di una discoteca, (almeno dalla mia camera)

Straordinario! Non ho mai visto albergo piu' affascinante, un antico convento trasformato in hotel di lusso con all'interno ancora arredi d'epoca, spazi grandi e silenziosi, affacci meravigliosi, un giardino curatissimo degno di un orto botanico. Personale gentile, professionale, prodigo di consigli.Piscina estiva. Parcheggio privato comodissimo. Ad un passo dal centro ma anche alla giusta distanza dal rumore.Eccellente da ogni punto di vista.
