The public areas are very attractive. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. The nearby church has a splendid Bernini sculpture. The location was challenging. It is necessary to use public transportation as little of interest is within easy walking distance. But I am finished with Rome and Florence both. I have seen and done everything and am sick of the crowding and lack of reality.

Staff very helpful. Big smart bathroom Location good for exploring Trastevere Good breakfast. Roof top bar! Room, though a reasonable size, had another single bed in it that we didn't need & took up space. It was also a bit Spartan.A couple of pictures on the walls would help solve this. The location near a busy road meant it could be noisy at night. Breakfast room is relatively small which meant we had to wait about 5-10 minutes the first morning to be seated. But not a great problem. Overall good experience but felt slightly overpriced.

The Trastevere area of Rome is a great location from which to take walking trips to all the various sites. I can't think of anything negative to say about this hotel.

Hotel San Francesco is very well placed near a small piazza in Trastevere, on the 'wrong' side of Via Trastevere. This adds to its attraction as it means you are close to the action but do not have to suffer the noise. It also borders a convent garden which makes it very pleasant. Easy walking to the Tiber, Circus Maximus, Aventino & the Orange Garden, Jewish Cemetery/Rose Garden. Also very easy tram ride for Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. There is an excellent delicatessen with superb local fare close by. Breakfast, whilst extensive, does not feature high quality local artisan items. Expresso coffee is available on demand but this is not explained.

A clean, simple and friendly hotel. The location was good, close to the older part of Transvestere. The room was clean and simple. Breakfast was good, with many options. Although the bathroom was clean and big, the bath could use some renovation, as it looked a bit old.

Location is excellent. All remarkable places of interest are in walk distance. Breakfast is quite sufficient. Personnel is friendly and helpful. It is too noisy from street traffic at night if your room is in front of hotel. Soundproofing is not good, you can heard in details what is doing in adjoining rooms. If you book room at the end of corridor, do not expect Wi-Fi.

The location was great! Trastevere was a nice little place that didn't feel touristy. We were easily able to find little restaurants to try without much knowledge of the area and was never disappointed. The buses allowed is to get into the city center easily each day to get to all of the must sees of Rome. Nothing to do with the hotel but I highly recommend getting as much info on the bus system/routes before going. The staff was warm and friendly. It was a small hotel that felt very homey. We would definitely stay there again! I wasn't at all interested in the breakfast. I'm sure it's very traditional for Europe but as an American I was not at all satisfied. My husband insisted we eat there each morning bc it was free. If I had my way I wouldn't have gone again after the first morning.

The room was neat and tidy, with a nice and big bathroom. The breakfast was good -Italians would probably complain about the kind of coffee, but if you take it as the international standard, than it's ok. It is just 100 metres from Viale Trastevere and 250 or 300 metres from the Tiber River. Taxis to the Coliseum area costed round EUR 12. All worked out perfectly! We had great neighbours, but you could anyway realize that soundproofing between rooms wasn't the best. Regarding the external noise, the hotel is in a very quiet spot of Trastevere, so you won't have problems with that.

Our room was large and comfortable; wi-fi and electrical outlets were convenient; the lobby was very nice, with a small pleasant bar. The hotel is quiet and well situated between Trastevere and Testaccio, with trams and buses almost at the doorstep. Breakfast coffee was not very good. In Rome, that's a surprise.
