You can admire beautiful views across the Tuscan hills at Albergo Villa Nencini, located just 500 metres from the centre of Volterra. It offers a large garden with swimming pool.
Score from 250 reviews Good
Dating back to the 11th century, Leon Bianco is in Piazza della Cisterna, one of San Gimignano’s main squares. During summer, breakfast is served on the quiet, relaxing terrace.
Score from 622 reviews Superb
Set in the Tuscan countryside, 5 km from Volterra, Villa Otium features an outdoor pool. It offers a restaurant and a garden fitted with BBQ facilities.

Once a 15th-century Franciscan monastery, Chiostro Delle Monache is just outside Volterra's Etruscan walls, next to the Presidio Ospedaliero Santa Maria Maddalena hospital.
Score from 364 reviews Very good
Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient parking
Nothing, everything was perfect!
Room was quite small
Great breakfast, excellent price
Fair wi-fi, thin walls, squeaky bed
Central location, inside the city walls. Good parking next to the hotel. Staff is really good, they make you feel like home.
Lovely staff, close parking
Great location, friendly staff, nice rooms, variety of breakfast choices included, parking for 11 Euros in parking garage. We would go back to san Lino at Volterra.
Helpful staff good pool
Better wi fi in the rooms
evereything very near, room was quiet, nice for sleeping, pool excellent staff wery helpful and gave good suggestions
they have to work with wifi too slow couldnt download the updates for some programms, which were important to me
The location can't be beat--it's right within the city walls. The front desk staff was welcoming, friendly, helpful. There was free covered parking just steps away.
It was a little bit older than some guests might like, but we didn't mind. The wifi was disappointing.
the location was extremely convenient and simple to locate. staff were polite efficient and eager to help in every way. delighetfull pool where seats were not booked and held all day by other guests. perfect....
i was surprised that animals (dogs) were allowed to stay in the rooms. although they were always on a lead. i dont like the idea of sleeping in a room where a dog slept previously.
Great location, easily achievable with car but also inside city walls. Not far from main attractions. Comfortable appartment. Convenient access to swimming pool. It is pity we stayed only one night. The place gives you a chance to combine city seeing with leisure time. Great melange.
Of course, the price was higher than in other location, but it was probably worth of its atractions.
The location is excellent. The breakfasts are very good. Most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Car parking was very convenient.
We booked a superior room. What we got - notwithstanding the provision of a tiny balcony overlooking the pool - was a basic room with absolutely no frills. Dated furniture and decor. Only one of the clothes hangers provided could be used to hang trousers. WiFi in lobby area very good but very patchy in room. In all not a patch on superior rooms in Florence, Lucca and Siena at the same price.
The breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh fruit and sweets. The pool area was a nice quiet spot and a relaxing break after touring. You have to pay for parking but at least you have a reserved spot. Parking lots nearby are really crowded and you'd never get a spot.
The bed was two metal cots pushed together. It was not even like a proper bed. The walls are paper-thin and you could hear everything in the rooms next door-including a man snoring all night! It was by far the smallest room we had during our whole stay in Italy. There was no place to even put your suitcase. The wifi really only worked in the lobby.
Excellent location. Good breakfast.
Pool has very cold water. Bad WIFI. Noise of road in the rooms towards road.
What a pleasant and friendly place. The team is just wunderful! They make you feel at home. They prepared a menu at the 15 th of august (national holiday) in the garden with life music: fantastic!
There is a good connection at 1 place in the lobby only.
The hotel was lovely it was great to be within the walls of the old city.
Our bed had hard bits sticking out of the mattress and left us with really sore backs. The pool was chilly...even in August.
The situation in the center with a parking, the typical building, the staff, well educated, authentically toscan, distinguished and competent, speaking a good english, the calm during the day.
No real wifi, not because of the Hotel but because of the city (not really well related to the net). The food but this also is caracteristical of the city, you have better to buy your food in the pescheria (excellent dishes near the hotel) and not to go to restaurants in volterra.
Staff, rooms location
Great spot if you want to get away from it all for a couple of days. Good sunny pool area & a quick walk to the main square which has good restaurants. Great that it has a carpark so close. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast with the best lemon cake ever!
Fantastic staff who really care about you and what you want to do
The gentlemen at the front desk was so nice to us he was really helpful. The breakfast was nice, the location is about a 10 min walk to town center
Modern hotel inside old city gates, unusual and most appreciated. Super central location for all of Tuscany. Lovely terrace and pool. very helpful staff.
Garage very convenient in a place like Volterra, also since cool when hot outside. Nice pool area. Hotel in a calm corner of Volterra. Breakfast good except... See below
At breakfast you were not asked what you wanted to drink. So called "american coffee" was available in thermoses but seeing a cappuccino coming out of the kitchen I realised it was available... They just try to avoid work and cost I guess ("stupid guests"). WiFi in rooms didn't work at all. The main WiFi worked only in some corners of the reception area and was slow. Us and another couple arriving to the garage at the same time didn't see the small faded sign telling where the hotel was so we spent some time wandering around...
Breakfasts and staff were good. Excellent location.
WIFI only worked in lobby but always plenty of room for guests. Mattresses were somewhat soft
superb location great parking facility at fair price awesome city friendly personel
maybe that the rooms and bathroom are not too big.. but it did not bother me that much.
