The staff were really, really nice and helpful. We had a lovely breakfast every morning and it was served with smiles and helpful advice if required. My partners bed was uncomfortable the first night, so the mattress was changed without so much as a grumble, the next day. We would stay there again.
Medieval plumbing! No matter what we did the shower overflowed on to the floor.Shower curtain always clung to ones body too. We would have liked to sit on the balcony that was attached to the room, but it was filthy so we didn't use it at all.
It was located at very center of Firenze and easy to access everywhere for site-seeing. Breakfast was served with bread, coffee and fruit. It was good and my sister and I enjoyed it.
We stayed in triple room with 3 single beds and the beds were too small so that we couldn't sleep well. If you want to stay this hotel, I think you should tell host ahead to secure large bed.
The hotel was centrally located, very easy access to Piazza San Marco, the train station and all the sights.
The breakfast was quite poor, the hotel itself looks shabby, the rooms, too... It's OK if it's only for a couple of nights, but not any longer!!
Excellent location; staff friendly; rooms plain but clean
Air conditioning The French guy at breakfast was great
There were hairs everywhere in my bathroom when I arrived The brother and sister would talk very loudly to each other fairly early in the morning and it was clearly heard from my room. Bed was pretty uncomfortable Hard to find Overall lacked most of the small accommodations of a normal hotel that add up to a great stay. (phone, guest computer, ad hoc advising on the city)
Most of the staff was nice and friendly.
The entrance was dark, dirty and had a terrible odor. I had to squish multiple spiders during my stay and everything seemed dingy and stale.
It's good place and clean, and more important near piazza Duomo,....
room at back of hotel away from street noise. private terrace
shower too cramped and water flooded the floor
The location of the hotel was great and facilitated a lot our one weekend stay in Florence.
When you consider what the hotel has to offer and what you end up getting, you will feel that this hotel is overpriced. If the hotel really means something to you, don't go there. But if you are looking for a bed and couldn't care less about anything else, it may be your choice. The entrance is very disappointing (to the point to be scary) but it does get better (a little). The staff is nice and very helpful. The room was clean, not luxurious at all, but it could be way worst if you think again about the entrance. One detail, bring your soap and shampoo, they give you a little sachet of shampoo and that's all. We stayed for one night and noise doesn't bother me, but at some point it was so much and people were knocking on our door that made us lose our sleep and be a little stressed there (I don't know why but a horror movie scene was on my mind at all times after that). The breakfast is a bit of a joke. You can choose between cookies or nuts. We were early enough to find fruits. They will serve you coffee and if you want a croissant, please ask and make sure they will not forget. For the payment they really ask you to pay with cash (which was good, I wouldn't feel comfortable in paying with card anyways). Anyways, even though after the entrance you have a feeling that things could be way worst than what you got, I wouldn't go back there. For the price and if you look around with patience, you can totally find something better, where you will not be counting the time until check out!!! But again, if an average hotel experience is not a must for you, this one may be for you, as the location is great!
Nice location, you just need to walk 5/10 minutes to be in the cathedral, good breakfast
Smoking smell on the hall
city trip and staff is so nice and helpful.
decoration of the building
Good location. Good place for family travel.
A nice place with nice people.
Nice, easy-going staff. Things worked.
Poor WiFi. Poor aspect, but matching the price anyway.
The lcation is good. about 10 minutes walk to the cathedral. The staff were also very kind. The room is very big! Breakfast is not very big, but it is good. you can find whatever you want.
It was very noisy. noise from outside AND inside. At night and very early in the morning we heard noise of the street. And the walls were not soundproof, so you can hear the noise from neighbors. It is expensive for what it is, however I think in Florence all hotels are expensive.
Good local knowledge: recommended places to eat, checked opening times for us - cleaned bathroom and changed towels everyday.
Smell of urine in the stairwell, noise at night (bring earplugs!), staff were sometimes less than polite, unfortunately
The location couldnt have been better. Its just round the corner from Galleria dell'Accademia which has the "Boy David" sculpture and everything else is only minutes away. We had an onsuite double room which was compact and was everything we needed. The staff were very helpfull and service was excellent.
It needs to be better signposted as we walked past it and had to ask directions.
Location is good. Food easily available and close to points of interest. Helpful owner
If room faces via Cavour, it is very noisy. There's people shouting and talking loudly throughout the night.
Location & Breakfast
Shower was small.
Free wifi Helpful staff Area was good, short distance to tourist attractions Small shops and places to eat on the same road
Very old and dated Not much signage to hotel Elevators tiny up on 3rd floor really difficult with cases Horrible smell in the entrance Gloomy/dark entrance View of people's balconys Light in bathroom is sensored so goes off quite often even when your still In there Room is extremely dated
The breackfast Was the best, located Very good and Was so clean and Very good wi fi
The furniture and building is old, but its not a problem. Staff really great! So friendly and explains everything about the city. Breakfast was great too. Excellent service for the price.
Location is great and easy to find just 15min from the central railway station (with suitcase). You take the same street the hotel is - on a straight line to the Duomo - just 10min walk, another 5min walk on the same line (street) to the Galeria degli Uffizi etc (no navigation). Hosts were kind and hospitable. Breakfast was plain and simple but sufficient - typical lower grade italian hotel (croissants, jam, butter, juice and coffee). If you are on a diet or diabetic - you can have tea and toast.
Unfortunately the whole building is old and poorly kept and needs a complete makeover inside out. The hotel is only on the top floors. But the entrance of the builging especially looks dirty and nasty, and not properly lit, so when you enter inside you get the feeling like one of those horror movies where somebody waits for you in the shadows. No excuse for that - since the cost for them to put tiles, a paint job in the entrance and a brighter light bulb equals to a couple of nights stay in just one of the rooms and the building also hosts a pasticceria and other offices. Simply no excuse to being that ugly and dirty! The hotel is in fact on the 3rd floor, which looks better, and like a 1star - the room furniture is old, and windows look like they are at least a century old and not working completely. Lousy or distroyed by water paint jobs on wooden surfaces. Sheets and towels on the contrary were all clean. I know that 1 star is 1 star, but there is a difference between a clean place with just 1 star and a dirty deserted-looking place that had 1 star when they opened. It completely ruined my mood for being in Firenze.
