It's very close to the Piazza San Marco, which is a pretty speical place. The room was large and comfortable, but there wasn't much else to the hotel. Having to walk down to the first floor and sit uncombfortably to use the internet. |

Service. Decoration. And my room was next to the elevator and we waked up every time it went up and down. |

Good location, quiet, friendly staff in breakfast area totally overpriced, room description from reservation is not what we got; outrageous surcharges for small child requested at late night check-in |

San Marco Palace was really peaceful, our room was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. Couldn`t have been in a better location. Kettle in the room but no cups or coffee.Requested a smoking room, to find out there is no such thing so maybe this shouldn`t |

The two rooms were spacious. The hotel is difficult to find and the address unclear. Even the luggages were delivered to the wrong hotel that luckily did belong to the same group. Canal view is not worth of the money because one cannot really see it unless going to the window and look down. Breakfast is a mess, we felt like guests of many hotels of the group were eating there. Everything (plates, glasses, cutlery and foot) was running out. |

The rooms were neat and clean. We were assigned in a smallish room on the first floor on our first leg of the trip, which was of a standard (cramped-ish) size, to be expected for its location and rate. The second leg saw us staying for two nights and we were assigned a room on the third floor (rm 322) and it was huge - a real delight. This hotel is well placed for Venice trips, being just off s Marco Square and we are recommending it to close friends going to Venice next month. The breakfast fare was good (we eat light and the cereal/yoghurt/croossants/rolls/preserves were good and fresh). The breakfast experience however was the stuff of nightmares for those quiet people that don't want to fight for food and a table. We got there early (7am) on the first day and we had a great breakfast with few people. The next day we did a 9am breakfast and could not get a table for 15 or so minutes and had to fight with others pushing forward to tables. On the final morning we thought we would leave it a bit later (10am) and most of the food we were told was "finito" with replacement being sporadic and pitiful. Having said all this, simply go down to breakfast a bit earlier than the madding crowd and all is great! |

We were not happy at all. We were put in the apartments and we had asked for the suites. The rooms stunk and were moldy. |

The best thing about San Marco Palace is the central location. I found the hotel hard to find despite speaking to the front desk twice. I think a detailed map with directions from the square would have been helpful and should be available through the website. It was hard to get our luggage to the hotel with all the steps. I would not recommend this hotel for early morning flights, which we had. |

The hotel offers privacy but is very close to the centre of San Marco Square where the most important tourist attractions are located. The breakfast was adequate but with a very limited selection. It was also very busy so that staff were hardpressed to keep up. I understood that it was open to those staying in other hotels in the same area. |

Very convienent to San Marco square and water transport. Very quiet large suite. Hard bed and uncomfortable couch in living area. Cooking facilities provided but no cookware or crockery. Breakfast when the hotel was full was chaos, not enough staff to clear and reset tables and restock food. |
