Excellent location, helpful staff, and clean, well presented rooms. We stayed in a 2 room family suit which had a balcony, which worked perfectly. A very enjoyable stay. |

The hotel and facilities were great. The balcony was the best part by far, great view of the canals. The staff was rude and unhelpful. |

I think Sabrina was wonderful! She went out of her way to be sure we had all the information we needed and was very patient. Her suggestions made our stay more memorable. |

The hotel location was good. Rooms were very nice but small. If you can find the hotel, I would recommend. See my note below. Hotel staff was not helpful when I arrived in Venice and was trying to find the Hotel. I had read reviews that the hotel was difficult to find so I called the morning to get specific instructions and all I was told was to get to San Marcos Square and the Hotel is located on the square. I arrived at 10 PM at night and could not find the Hotel even after asking some policemen and locals and calling the Hotel twice. Also, it was high tide and san Marcos Square was under water. My wife & I had to wade through sewage water to cross the square and find the Hotel lobby on a very small side street. This was really a nightmare so make sure that you have very specific instrustions to find the Hotel including what boat or water taxi to take. |

Location was outstanding. Just steps away from Piazza San Marco. Room was spacious with 2 bedrooms and a living area with kitchenette. Bathroom was a bit cramped, but typical for European hotels. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room had a view of a small side-canal, which was not as beautiful as the larger canals, but still charming. Good value for the money, but Venice standards. The breakfast selections were meager, even by Italian standards (though we have had worse). The coffee that came out of the "machine" was the worst watered-down coffee I've ever had - they should be ashamed to serve that in Italy! |

It's very close to the Piazza San Marco, which is a pretty speical place. The room was large and comfortable, but there wasn't much else to the hotel. Having to walk down to the first floor and sit uncombfortably to use the internet. |

San Marco Palace was really peaceful, our room was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. Couldn`t have been in a better location. Kettle in the room but no cups or coffee.Requested a smoking room, to find out there is no such thing so maybe this shouldn`t |

The two rooms were spacious. The hotel is difficult to find and the address unclear. Even the luggages were delivered to the wrong hotel that luckily did belong to the same group. Canal view is not worth of the money because one cannot really see it unless going to the window and look down. Breakfast is a mess, we felt like guests of many hotels of the group were eating there. Everything (plates, glasses, cutlery and foot) was running out. |

The rooms were neat and clean. We were assigned in a smallish room on the first floor on our first leg of the trip, which was of a standard (cramped-ish) size, to be expected for its location and rate. The second leg saw us staying for two nights and we were assigned a room on the third floor (rm 322) and it was huge - a real delight. This hotel is well placed for Venice trips, being just off s Marco Square and we are recommending it to close friends going to Venice next month. The breakfast fare was good (we eat light and the cereal/yoghurt/croossants/rolls/preserves were good and fresh). The breakfast experience however was the stuff of nightmares for those quiet people that don't want to fight for food and a table. We got there early (7am) on the first day and we had a great breakfast with few people. The next day we did a 9am breakfast and could not get a table for 15 or so minutes and had to fight with others pushing forward to tables. On the final morning we thought we would leave it a bit later (10am) and most of the food we were told was "finito" with replacement being sporadic and pitiful. Having said all this, simply go down to breakfast a bit earlier than the madding crowd and all is great! |
