Located in the heart of Venice, this hotel allows guests to immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere of a 1000-year-old city, which has remained unchanged over the centuries.

The small and comfortable hotel is situated just a few steps from Piazza San Marco, and is decorated with furniture and fabrics recalling the 18th century Venetian style. The residence is composed of 2 buildings: the first has several rooms with view over the Rio San Moisè, enlivened by the passage of gondolas. The 2nd can offer you all the finest comforts, a luxury welcome package with wine and fresh fruit, and all the tranquility of a house with a private patio. The 2nd building is enviably positioned along one of the most important thoroughfares in Venice and is located just 200 metres from La Fenice Theatre.

Hotel information

On arrival at the hotel’s first building, you will need to check-in before the hotel porter can help you to carry the luggage to the 2nd. Here, you will find a concierge created to provide you with the best treatment. At the reception desk, you can find the following free services: a boat trip to the Murano Island, free admittance ticket to the casino, free reservation service for the opera concerts in the main theatre of Venice and a free newspaper in several languages.

For any excursion, inform the hotel 7 days before, in order to guarantee a place. The excursion to Murano Island is provided individually to every guest from 09:00 to 13:00 hours. It is a motor boat trip along the Venice canals and the lagoon, passing the famous cemetery of San Michele. The trip also includes a free visit to the first glass factory of Venice built in 1389. After the visit to the Master Glass you can visit the museum and see some old antiques of the republic. The return ticket is not included.

The hotel offers a rich, hot buffet breakfast everyday from 07:30 to 10:00

Those staying in the Superior and Luxury accommodation receive free breakfast delivered to the room. This does not include eggs and bacon, due to the application of high standards of cleanliness.

You can choose one of 2 categories: standard or superior.
The difference between the 2 is space and luxury.
Standard rooms are recommended for a short stay. Rooms are average sized (small by US standards) and enjoy the same modern comforts found in superior rooms.
Superior rooms feature larger accommodations particularly in the hotel’s second building. All rooms are fitted with elegant antique furniture, Murano chandeliers and Baroque fabrics and offer a panoramic view.
If you are looking for luxury and wish to experience a true Venetian stay, try the deluxe room with canal view: a 40 m² room with high ceilings, huge chandeliers in Murano glass and baroque décor.

Area information

The hotel is only 200 metres from Saint Mark Square and 100 metres from La Fenice Theatre. The 2nd house is located 500 metres from the square, nearby the districts of Rialto and Accademia.

Lovely, ancient building.

Hard to find. Better directions would help, e.g. 'it's along the little alley opposite the Gucci shop on Calle Larga 22 Marzo'

Nothing until we asked to be moved to a different hotel

Hotel San Moise has two different buildings, one is luxurious and the other is appalling, dirty, smelly, damp and very unwelcoming. It was not clear when I made my booking that we would be in a dingey building and we had to make a huge fuss to be moved to the first building we checked in at

The hotel was old, but very beautiful. We were in a loft bedroom, totally AMAZing. The staff was wonderful. The location was 'the best'

Location is great, staff are friendly. We were upgraded to a magnificent large room at no extra charge. The hotel is on a quiet street close to San Marco square. With outside tables by a picturesque canal and with tables in an interior courtyard this hotel is our idea of a perfect place to stay in Venizia. Lots of Hot water for showers, and an excellent included breakfast.

The staff recommended a restaurant that turned out to be very expensive although the food was good. They should offer several recommendations at various prices.

The annex was in a quiet backwater and very convenient for our walking tours

Disappointed that the annex was some distance from the main building and the room was very small for a "superior" one
