The room overlooking the small transportation canal was used by numerous gondolas and small work boats and provided with us with a life-long memorable experience, especially with the singing and accordion playing that went with it. The room was spacious and classic late-19th Century, the bathroom very nice and the breakfast adequate, The strange odor in the stairway to our room was unusual and unidentifiable. The breakfast needs eggs. The first night we were put into Hotel Firenze just down the street, it was a small but very elegant and clean room with windows over a noisey street. We did not object and found it interesting but we didn't like the hassel of moving but we were relieved to have a nice place over the canal when we returned to San Moise. |

Great staff throughout hotel. Fabulous location with its own wharf. Excellent room for mother and 2 teenagers with balcony looking over canal and could go to sleep listening to singing gondoliers! Loved the outside courtyard. Everything was perfect but would have liked coffee making facilities in room and an ironing board and iron - they did have a washing and ironing service which I used |

We liked the atmosphere, the location and the peacefulness. For our 3- night stay (a long weekend) the hotel was quite suitable. The room was cozy, in ancient style, with very old wooden beams on the roof, though conveniently renovated; however, it was much too dark, with barely any natural light inside, which made it rather oppressive. We also regret the fact that it was impossible to get any kind of drink in the evening, as we were told at the reception, not even boiled water to brew our own tea, not even from a dispenser. We know that Venice is a very expensive city, but still we consider the San Moisè to have a rather low value for money (Eur. 200 per night for a double in mid- october). That would be the only reason for trying to find something else next time. |

The San Moise is in a great location and perfect for our first visit to Venice. I felt we were charged too much for the privilege of having a canal view which really was not worth it as the view was nothing exceptional. |

Arrived at the San Moise to be told we were staying in the "annexe" which turned out to be a sister hotel a few hundred yards away - the Ca'Alvise. This was catergorised as a 4 star hotel but I don't think it comes close. We were on the top floor and there was no lift; the breakfast was very poor and the staff were, in the main, unfriendly and unwelcoming. Our kettle was leaking badly and they would not replace it, even though it was potentially dangerous. I would never use this group again. |

We were told we had been 'upgraded' to a better room in an annexe. The 'annexe' turned out to be a totally different hotel quite a distance away. Obviously they had over booked. Both this hotel and the one we eventually stayed at were poor Dark uncomfortable rooms, terrible bed |

The porter carried all our bags to our room up a number of stairs. The view was perfect (109), a tiny balcony that looked up the canal and a number of bridges. The constant boats, gondolas and serenading going past our room was a real venetian delight. It got a little noisy in the morning on delivery/pickup day with all the boats delivering to restaurants and cafe's but this was an experience to see it all happen by boat. |

Cost and location. Convenient to Vaporetto stop and S. Marcos. Breakfast was very nice. Old authentic feel of hotel. Too many stairs. Room (Quad) was cramped. No internet. We probably had the worst room in the hotel. Nicely appointed, but cramped. Avoid room #26! |

Good breakfast The staff was rude The room was tiny and different than the picture on website. Hotel Moise placed a picture of a luxurious, spacious double room on the website. Instead the room we got was the smallest room we ever been. It looked more like a storage room than a hotel room. No view of the canal but scaffolding of the opposite building. No help with the languages regardless of what they say on website. The hotel is sited in a location that is difficult to find. The shower was dirty and without curtain Huge old chandelier directly above bed. There was no double bed but two cheap single beds that they kept moving apart. Unfortunately our staying in this hotel was a complete rip-off!! |

Excellent central location, very close to St-Marco Square. Friendly staff, antique furniture and good view from the window, into a small street and one of the canals. The breakfast could have included several hot dishes (e.g. fried eggs), but in general 'okay' for a *** hotel. |

I really liked the room and the balcony that overlooked the canal. I enjoyed watching the gondolas go by. I had a hard time finding the hotel. Better directions from the San Marco water bus dock would have been very helpful. |

This hotel was in a great location. It was an adorable hotel by a canal with a great breakfast and common area. My husband and I really enjoyed this hotel. The rooms were smaller but clean. It was worth the price and we would definitely go back again. |

We were lucky to have an amazing room, with view to a canal. The room was elegant, spacious, it was like being in a palace. |

The breakfast was good. The location of the hotel is excellent - very close to St. Marco's square and the Grand Canal. The room in which we stayed was extremely small and overburdened. There was a maintenance problem with the bathroom twice. |
