Hotel San Moisè

O facto de ser tão central permite chegar rápida e facilmente aos locais mais importantes. A localização é excelente considerando a relação preço/qualidade, não esquecendo que nesta cidade é tudo caro, face ao nível de vida português!

A decoraçao do quarto era bem bonita, estilo romântico, sendo que havia vista para o canal, o que tornou a estadia bastante agradável. Quarto confortável e em otimas condições de limpeza e organização. Funcionários solícitos e bom cafe da manhã.

E preciso ficar bastante atento para localizar o hotel, que fica em um rua bem estreita. Sugiro que sejam disponibilizadas informações precisas sobre qual parada exata e a linha do vaporetto permitem maior facilidade na chegada.

O conforto do quarto e banheiro. O ruim é o fato de que o hotel tem um prédio adicional, a uns 10 quarteirões do principal, num local um pouco mais difícil de se encontrar. Desta forma vc chega cansado no primeiro prédio e descobre que tem que andar mais para chegar ao seu quarto.

Apesar da reserva ser feita para o hotel San Moise, nos encaminharam para outro hotel, acerca de 2 minutos. Apesar de ter boa qualidade, o hotel San Moise não pode vender a reserva em seu hotel e locar os hóspedes em outro hotel. Não havia elevador e nenhum funcionário se disponibilizou para carregar nossas bagagens pela escada. Não tem internet.

O quarto era aconchegante, bem limpo e o banheiro ótimo para os padrões europeus. Destaque do hotel.

The location is absolutely perfect for the San Marco area but also for vaporetto bus which is very important.

We had to check out very early in the morning. We asked to pay and check out the evening before. This was possible but only paying cash... We did not want to do this. We asked to pay by credit card and check out at 5.30 am. This was OK. We were ready at 5 am and wanted to check out. The hotel owner really was not happy because it was not 5.30 am as mentioned the evening before ... Apparentyly one can only pay by credit card between midnight and 2 pm. This should be said before, I think.

The room overlooking the small transportation canal was used by numerous gondolas and small work boats and provided with us with a life-long memorable experience, especially with the singing and accordion playing that went with it. The room was spacious and classic late-19th Century, the bathroom very nice and the breakfast adequate,

The strange odor in the stairway to our room was unusual and unidentifiable. The breakfast needs eggs. The first night we were put into Hotel Firenze just down the street, it was a small but very elegant and clean room with windows over a noisey street. We did not object and found it interesting but we didn't like the hassel of moving but we were relieved to have a nice place over the canal when we returned to San Moise.

We liked the atmosphere, the location and the peacefulness. For our 3- night stay (a long weekend) the hotel was quite suitable.

The room was cozy, in ancient style, with very old wooden beams on the roof, though conveniently renovated; however, it was much too dark, with barely any natural light inside, which made it rather oppressive. We also regret the fact that it was impossible to get any kind of drink in the evening, as we were told at the reception, not even boiled water to brew our own tea, not even from a dispenser. We know that Venice is a very expensive city, but still we consider the San Moisè to have a rather low value for money (Eur. 200 per night for a double in mid- october). That would be the only reason for trying to find something else next time.

The San Moise is in a great location and perfect for our first visit to Venice.

I felt we were charged too much for the privilege of having a canal view which really was not worth it as the view was nothing exceptional.

Arrived at the San Moise to be told we were staying in the "annexe" which turned out to be a sister hotel a few hundred yards away - the Ca'Alvise. This was catergorised as a 4 star hotel but I don't think it comes close. We were on the top floor and there was no lift; the breakfast was very poor and the staff were, in the main, unfriendly and unwelcoming. Our kettle was leaking badly and they would not replace it, even though it was potentially dangerous. I would never use this group again.

The porter carried all our bags to our room up a number of stairs. The view was perfect (109), a tiny balcony that looked up the canal and a number of bridges. The constant boats, gondolas and serenading going past our room was a real venetian delight.

It got a little noisy in the morning on delivery/pickup day with all the boats delivering to restaurants and cafe's but this was an experience to see it all happen by boat.
