The welcome from the whole family was overwhelming! Room was so comfortable and clean with a sitting room and a large new bathroom, an added attraction was the tea-making facilities (rare in Italy). The pool was a fantastic setting and the views were magnificent. Food was delicious, but would have like the choice of a smaller menu at a lower cost on some nights. If you like a 5 course meal, this is the place for you.
I could not stay longer
Calm and quiet, top location, extremely nice and helpful hosts, supermarkets, bakery store and restaurants between 10-15 minutes away from the property. In short amazing for a nice relaxing holiday, to meet a few new people and to dip in the pool to cool down every now and then. Culture and sight seeing at 30 minutes distance. We will definitely visit again!
Recently upgraded rooms are as nice as any hotels in Italy. Family, food and ambiance are all first rate! We look forward to going back.
My husband and I were driving up from Sicily and we stayed at this beautiful hotel. Alex and his family made us feel very welcome on arrival and showed us to our suite which was beautifully decorated and had a lovely shiny new bathroom, white linen on the bed, everything was spotless. We sat by the pool for a few hours, very comfortable cushions on the sunbeds before enjoying the super shower and changing for dinner. A positive feast, beautifully cooked and presented, absolutely delicious. We plan to return next June for a short break as we would like to see more of the area and enjoy the stunning views as the sun sets.
Almost everything, the people who own and run the hotel are really friendly and make you feel very welcome and at home.
My wife best described this location as 'Heaven on Earth' and it really was. We were welcomed "to stay with [his] family" by Alex/Alessio and they treated us all as personal guests. Breakfasts (included) were amazing, with homemade yogurt and acacia honey, eggs, and homemade croissants; dinners are even better: homemade ravioli and the best lamb I've tasted. The location is great for day trips to Assisi or Perrugia (Perugina chocolate tour) or just for walking around the sunflower files or olive groves. Could not recommend this place more highly. We'll be back (soon).
We couldn't stay longer.
Alessio and his family go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one. Beautifully landscaped and kept facilities and gardens. Excellent local, traditional kitchen and romantic garden setting A place to relax completely!!
The hotel is in a beautiful location with easy access to Assisi and many other places of interest. The welcome from the family was warm and helpful. Our suite was comfortable and spotlessly clean, bed linen changed every other day, towels daily with a good selection of toiletries and a free mini bar, restocked daily. The grounds, pool and garden were peaceful and idyllic. Breakfast and dinner were served outside on a terrace with wonderful views of the surrounding area, and there was also a comfortable and cosy restaurant inside for cooler days. The food was all freshly prepared with local produce where possible. Dinner was five courses, no choice but different and varied each night. After the first meal we decided there was no point going anywhere else to eat! The family who own the hotel do everything themselves, mamma and daughter and daughter in law take care of the kitchen while papa and son are front of house/waiters/wine waiters and barmen. They are all amazing and can`t do enough for you. When we were there most guests were returners, and we can quite understand why. We intend to go back ourselves. Umbria is a beautiful part of Italy, so much to see and do, but don`t tell anyone about it, or about this hotel as we don`t want it to become too crowded!
Leaving at the end of our stay.
Owner Alessio is a very caring host, he helped us out with loads of good suggestions about nearly everything. We loved his homemade cakes in the morning. We stayed in the appartmenthouse which is separated from the hotel rooms, surroundings and scenery are just great.
Wifi a bit complicated to turn on, interior of apartment very simple and outdated but beds were good. Swimming pool not open beginning of May.
