The price is good :include accomodation and breakfast. The breakfast is good enough compare with other hotel.Because in Italy breakfast is always very simple:just coffee and a bread. But here the breakfast is plentful. The room is big enough and the bed is comfortable.
nothing. But if you don't drive a car it is not very convenince to reach the hotel.
Very friendly and helpful staff . The breakfast was adequate. The location, although 35 minutes from Bologna by train hourly, was secure and quiet. The distance to Bologna didn't pose a problem, as we were not intending to drive to the city. Budrio station is 10 minutes drive away, and the train fare was 2.60 euros each way per person, and car parking at the station was free. There was copious hot water and a good shower. We are considering returning to Bologna at a later date, and will definitely be staying here.
Room 4, on the ground floor suffers from rising damp, which unfortunately affects most Italian properties. This did not detract from our enjoyment. The TV remote was faulty resulting in the TV switching itself on at most inconvenient times. The room air conditioning was set too high for our liking. The owners were very understanding and said that the TV concern would be addressed and that personal requirements for room heating would also be addressed.
Santa Maria Maddelena is outstanding. The facilities are both modern and spotless and charmingly old farm, the staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is tasty and the location is very quiet and an excellent jumping-off spot for Venice, Florence, Ravenna, San Marino, and of course Bologna. A great value!
The room was a bit noisy with the sounds of other guests, but not too bad. The location is great, but there's nothing, really, close to the hotel (no shops, restaurants, etc.).
Quitness and the nice area
It was very cald The shower not good and the bath room was very cold
Everything, it was warm, comfortable, clean, interio of the room new,
Little choice of breakfast, not great WiFi
It is a nice place, quiet and silent. Good and friendly staff . Excellent breakfast.
Some room devices are not really the best. Toilet light is on/off automatically. Ok for the on, but the off comes too late. You have to close the door if you want to sleep. The toilet has no windows, and a fan to change the air works when it wants.. should be better to have a manual switch.
Very quiet area (if you don't mind the small football area next door and the church bell). The building is very new and the rooms modern. We liked the freshly baked cake for breakfast.
On Sundays the checkout starts at 7:30. Until 8:35 there was nobody there and we had a flight to catch. The pool had not been cleaned (the weather was rainy the previous days but when it got finally sunny nobody dealt with it). The grass area had not been mowed with very high grass totally infested with aggressive mosquitoes making the pool area inaccessible. Poor flaky WiFi either not working, very slow or requiring log in all the time.
No restaurant close-by, A lot of biting insects by the pool.
Lovely surroundings , generous breakfast, helpful staff, modern taseful and convenient rooms, and beautiful swimming pool
Being charged extra for a bathing towel
Quiet and peaceful location. Staff was helpful, and the place was always kept clean.
Sat nav address was not exact, and we lost some time to find the place. WiFi signal was low. You had to pay extra to use the pool, which we were not advised on.
Clean Friendly and Tidy
The quality of accommodation. Great rates for this level. Beautiful surroundings and area. Lovely staff who provided excellent service. We spent 5 great days eexploring Venice Bologna and Adriatic coas. Sat Nav directions spot on.
CALMA POSIZIONE AMBIENTE
Everything excellent The best is balcon
The accommodation is simple (classic/old fashioned) but had everything we needed: breakfast, wifi, fridge, pool, shuttle service ($) and a small bar. Last but not least very clean! The Indian boys of the housekeeping and breakfast are very helpful. We 6 woman (34-44 years old) had a wonderful yearly trip of 3 nights in Budrio. There is no restaurant on the premises but just across the street. Three nice courses with wine and water only Euro 37,50 per person. The pool wasn't ready when we arrived because of bad weather the days before but the last day we could use the pool. The other days we went to Bologna and Budrio (small village) with the shuttle bus. We paid Euro 30 per person per night and this is a good price for what you get. As I started: we had a wonderful time!
The mattress on the bed was for 3 of 6 woman to hard. When you have a room next to the entrance or breakfast room you wake up early! When you need a pickup at 16.00pm ask for 15.45pm. The accommodation is not perfect but good for the price you pay!
I booked a room for the disabled and got a room with a balcony that had a high step so that I could on it. Bathroom for disabled person has only a fixed shower that can be used only in upright position!? The person who serves breakfast (bread slots, salami, cheese, cooked coffee ...) In the meantime, clean rooms, mop .... Breakfast is very modest. Area and hedgerows on the terrace of the room is deserted. The pool was still covered at the end of May and closed in spite of a beautiful and warm weather. Accommodations absolutely do not recommend it.
The staff was not so flexible as one could expect. There is no educational farm as mentioned on the website. There is no own restaurant, like what you can expect of and Agriturismo.
Breakfast was among the best we've had in our Italian travels. The breakfast attendant was courteous and efficient. The private patio was wonderful. Great location between Bologna and Ferrara.
The ten Euro per night pet fee seemed excessive, especially since the majority of Italian accomodations where we have stayed that accepted pets charged no fee. Nonetheless, we were glad the facility allowed our pet. Unfortunately, WIFI was painfully slow.
The friendliness of staff and owners was fantastic both towards me and my two very active boys (2 & 5 years), the facilities were 4 star with rustic charm. We will go back again!
We were for the second time at Santa Maria Maddalena, and the things were as expected: very clean, very quiet, very nice and helpful staff. Good place for rest, during a long trip. For sure we will come again!
Nice room, great breakfast
after 22 hour of staff contact is impossible
Lack of water for shower. Internet connection was tiring and annoying.
