Simple and old hotel, with nice staff and great location. If you like beer as I do, there are 4 Irish pubs on a 200-meter radius, which is odd (this is Rome, not Dublin), but great!
close to train station.
beds not comfortable. hot water not always. WiFi only in public area. In addition to price per night they charge 3 euro per person for each day spent in hotel and call it as City tax, but nothing mentioned in booking.com which booking and reviewing hotel. Breakfast could be better for such money.
Cleanliness, my room had wifi (it was next to the common area)
The first night some guests had a rather loud gathering in the lounge until about 1am. However, the room was quiet for the next couple of nights
Location Price Stuff
Good location. Everything is near by. If u come just for some days to see Rome, this hotel' s good for u.
Good located although the main entrance is on the back of the building, very easy to get to termini station, coloseum is 15min by foot, the nearest bus station is at 5' and the metro station is at 10', towels were changed every day
We had ants in our room, very noisy, not very well isolated, we could hear everything from outside and from the hotel's hallway
It was quiet, that is away from the large streets. It was clean. High ceiling. Even a bit of view (toward the church) - you even get some sunshine into your room, meaning you're not facing another buildings facade. It's really nice there.
The hallway is a bit noisy from other Hotel guests walking up and down the stairs (at least in the room I was given). I was able to mask the noise by turning on the bathroom ventilator (I prefer regular machine noise over irregular noise).
location, price, staff
noise of neighbors through the walls, no view from windows, clogged sink.
location was really good..hop on of bus really close and ten min walk to collisium etc and heaps of good food places around the hotel....
Nice location, if you are spending most of your time out and about.
Hotel facilities are pretty poor, cleanliness and breakfast were not the best either.
Central position. Granary hotel over road was best. Taxi service to airport excellent.
Not being able to ring NZ from the hotel. Being sent to a phone box when no phone cards could be found was unsatisfactory.
AC was a historical model causing lot of sound and minimal cooling....
The staff was very friendly, particularly the maids. The breakfast wasn't a buffet but a variety of delicious pastries were available. The first night, one of the rooms we were given was a complete disaster - no window, a/c not working, etc. But the day after we were transfered to another room which was far more comfortable. Wi-fi system was excellent, except when the lobby gets crowded with users. Also, the hotel is surrounded by different restaurants and cafetirias and is less than 15mins away from the train station. Over all, all the family had fun and in case we come to Rome again, we'd definitely reconsider the same hotel.
The only thing I disliked was that the towels are changed every two days, something which as far as I was concerned, were not told about it. The building has no lift facility so anyone of old age should reconsider the choice or make special requests.
It was good for a place to sleep as the last minute decision it was for us. No serious complaints but not luxury accommodations by any means. It is within walking distance of Colosseum and other main attractions, as well as shopping, train and restaurants. They also locked our bags in a separate room for us the whole day after we checked out to explore the city.
I wish they had given directions to get to the hotel from the train station. It is very close to the train station but not understanding the foreign city, we were taken advantage of by a taxi driver who charged 10 Euros to take us the 2 blocks to the hotel. There is only wifi in the lobby area (very small). And you if you have lots of luggage you have to carry it up several flights of stairs before any elevator is even an option.
Value for money in Rome Clean, basic room
Feels like budget accommodation No lift for 4th floor.
Typical buget minded hotel in Rome. The room wasn't very large (the bathroom door hit the bed when you tried to open it all the way) but for the price it was acceptable for our short stay. We slept well with no noise on the firm beds. A modest walk to the nearest metro stop. And, a bit further if you want to walk to the train station. They provided a locked closet for luggage storage for our last day while we toured the Vatican.
Wi fi access isn't available throughout the hotel, just in the public places.
Fantastic staff, very friendly and helpful Good location
No lift No Wifi in rooms, only lobby. Annoying when your room is on the 5th floor to have to go all the way down to check emails
It's a good hotel; it's clean and the staff are very helpful. This is interesting; our hair dryer didn't work so they changed our room (and new room was really better).
I liked the central location and how it was hidden in a busy area of Rome. Staff was very helpful. Also a good continental breakfast.
Depending on where you are located in the hotel (Closer to the lobby) the sliding door can be heard when people are going in and out. We stayed there twice in a week. First time was very quite and the next time we could easily hear the door opening and closing.
We booked at the last minute and we were happy
How clean the hotel was
Room equipment (bed, bathroom) was a little bit obsolete
It is well located
Walking distance to train station, hop-on hop-off tour stop, and Colosseum! Very basic room but great location!!
There was no wifi in rooms, only at reception (I was aware of this before I booked, but it really was annoying!). Also, not all staff at reception spoke English - which made it a bit difficult when I tried to entend my stay.
Very good location. My room was quiet, on the ground floor inside but I suspect that others could be noisy. Close to many bars and restaurants. I shall return.
Room OK but the place seemed a bit run down but not to make it uncomfortable.
