With all the tourists that have already started flooding Matera (Cultural Capital 2019), things will be much easier if english is spoken.
Breakfast could be a little improved, too. Suggestions: pane di Matera, fruit and perhaps something not sweet, e.g. some cheese, eggs, etc. In Italy they eat only sweet breakfast, but foreigners do not necessarily.
Perfect location, right next to the central square(s), the University, the shops/pharmacies/bakeries and to the Sassi. Easier to walk to/from this location rather than if I had stayed in the Sassi.
Very pretty room! And there was enough storage space!
Independence (got my own key for all doors, including the main one to the building).
The lady asked me every day if I wanted my room to be cleaned/tidied up and for clean towels.
