Hotel Sassi  

The hotel is in a great location and Matera is absolutely amazing.

The hotel it self is very worn and old. It is clean but needs new furnishings and painting. At best it's a three star and that due to it's location.

The location is unique, if you make it all the way to Matera and don't give this a try you would really be missing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Don't forget to ask the locals about the history of the area, it's really interesting.

After you feel cheated you it's hard for you to point out the advantages.

I particularly dislikes A. False report of hotel sasy on non accessibility for the tourist with a suitcase. B. Ignoring from the elderly with poor accessibility and limited walking ability.. C. Distance of over hundreds of meters between the rooms that is not accessible despite previous shared reservation.

Excellent location for exploding the Sassi di Matera. Novelty of having a room in a cave.

It was exceptionally close during our stay and there was inadequate ventilation in our room.

My room was swarmed with ants! They were everywhere, on the sofa, in the bed and then in my backpack!

What a fablous hotel. We booked a cave for three nights. But changed to view room for two of them because my 80 year old mother wanted to look out the window. The location was unique and at first getting around was hard, but once you figure it out it was fun.

Excellent, helpful staff. Generous and varied breakfast. Room large, comfortable, with a sassi interior, which I had requested. Cost very reasonable, perhaps least expensive of the sassi hotels. I'd recommend this hotel to any able-bodied person, and would happily stay there again.

Only one possible problem: for people having difficulties walking, the hotel isn't easily accessible. Must walk either down or up a series of narrow stairways, which are considered streets.

Great view and location. Rooms were carved into the rock.

Die Lage ist grandios. Höhlencharakter kommt auf. Unbedingt mit kleinem Gepäck anreisen, da Zugang beschwerlich. Hatten einen guten, kostenlosen Parkplatz. Frühstück auf der Terasse war super

Excellente adresse, personnel très gentil et disponible, vue spectaculaire, très bien placé dans Matera
