The location of the railway station to the hotel was a short stroll, and when you are lugging a 20kg suitcase you do not want to be walking for kilometers. The room was brilliant, every thing you wanted was there, no outside noise. Great eateries , and cafes within a short walk from the hotel. On offer for breakfast was truly amazing everything you would want, and this was included in the tarrif. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The free wifi was not working during our stay, and I really needed it to contact family that we were meeting the next day in another country.

I made a mistake with my dates when booking so that when we arrived we didn't have a room reserved. The young guy at reception did all he could to make sure we could be accommodated that night. We left our luggage for 1 hour and went and had a gelati and then the room was ready. The room had a big double bed and 2 camp beds for our 16 and 9 year olds. The bathroom was gorgeous with the best toiletries I had seen. There was a small bar fridge. The whole hotel is in a gorgeous old art noveau style. Breakfast was spectacular in a beautifully decorated room and the option of eating on the balcony (which we did!). We used this hotel as a base for a boat trip to Portofino (a must do). The port is very close. The car is parked elsewhere and you have to give your keys to reception. When you want the car you let them know 20 minutes in advance. You get a receipt. This all worked out ok for us. Wi-fi was good in the room.

Very close to railway station and was a nice looking hotel from the outside. The hotel is an old building that has been renovated which was done very nicely, . The rooms were modern and had everything a motel supplies. The cleaner changed our towels every day and we were there four days, the amenities were also restocked not that we used many. Breakfast was great and also had everything such as hot and cold foods. We were very impressed with the reception staff. They were so helpful and empathetic to all our problems. We have never come across staff this good in all our travels and we have been traveling for two months. It was really great to also find this hotel had Sky TV which supplied a number of English speaking programmes. Wi fi was also free in the room. The only thing we noticed was dust on the floor of the room. We had one case on the floor and to was covered with dust but that was all that we could say about this hotel. It was a good place to stay.

The reception staff were helpful and did not argue over changing our room after the first night. The bedroom and bathroom we had after the first night were large and comfortable. The room for the first night was on the front which overlooks the piazza in front of the station and is very noisy. The bedroom and bathroom were also rather small

The breakfast was really good. The room was clean and spacious, with a good bed. The parking garage is 100m away from the hotel, up a hill. This is a little inconvenient.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was stylish and more than adequate for our one night stay. The trattoria next door was excellent for dinner and the breakfast was very good indeed. We would stay there again for all the above reasons and the fact that it is only about 80 metres from the station.

Truthfully we were very pleasntly surprised, All of the staff were extremely helpful and most especially Therese. This hotel is absolutely a good value for your money. Old world charm and clean modern rooms, friendly helpfu staff, a good breakfast and accomodations which are very close to the Pricipe train station AND---for a reasonable price--------- what more could one ask? Additionally it's a relatively easy walk to some major city squares and to the restuarants and activities of the waterfront which includes a very good museum and an exceptional acquarium. Are you familair with the term "nit-picker"? To complain of anything one would have to be classified so.

The staff was excellent and catered to our needs and any last minute requests. Francesco went out of his way to sort out the rooms for our group. We also liked the fact that the location is right next to the central station and very close to the centre as well as the port. We also enjoyed the breakfast experience where the food and the personnel was excellent. Rooms were also kept in impecable condition. No complaint at all.

It was a very nice stay. Well located, friendly staff and excelent breakfast. The "Trattoria" where we have breakfast is very good for dinner too. We've parked the car at the hotel street and didn't have to pay for parking (we were lucky!). Belongs to the same group that Hotel Grand Savoya (this one is more luxury) and both are neighbours and well situated if you want to go walking to historical city center and the marina/aquario area. We recommend it!

The staff at the reception was terrible. I stayed one night at the hotel on 5 March 2012. The lady at reception (I was told that her name was Tzetza) was literally rude. It started first with giving us vage instructions for car park. We drove several km from the hotel and did not find it. Finally we parked our car in the other car park close to the hotel. The lady at the reception told us that we can not park our car in the car park other than the one details for which she gave to us. Importantly, she said that we must pay for car park in the hotel anyway and this is apparently more that the fare in the garage we left our car. We thought that it was absolutely unacceptable. The hotel does not bother to give sufficient car park details to a guest and then requires extra money for nothing. Apart from this is not ethical, this is just illegal in many countries. I do not know what is the case in Italy. I would never stay in this hotel again and I would not recommend it to a friend.

It's close to Principe Station and it was easy to book and to manage the booking. Also you give the opportunity to cancel the booking till the day before without paying fees, many other hotels don't give this opportunity. I really appreciated everything at the Hotel except the fan heater during the night, it's noisy and it would'n allow me to sleep.

It was situated very close to the main railway station. The decor ,including the walk down memory lane lift, were aesthetically pleasing.further a member of staff was always at reception ready to help. The food was good and reasonably priced and the service was excellent. Shame the bar was a short walk from the hotel, athough, as you would expect, room service was available at an inflated price.

The front desk staff at check in was brilliant. We speak a little Italian, and she persevered and allowed us to check in fully in italian, when it would have been much quicker for her to switch to english. She also outlined on a map the best route to walk around the city, and the main sights. The hotel is close to the train station and within easy walking distance of the old town. The rooms are large and well appointed. There was an excellent selection for breakfast. Although the rooms were well appointed and on the surface great, there were just a few maintenance issues. The drain in the shower was blocked, and the heated towel rail didn't actually work, and given it was the middle of winter it would have been better if it had.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and well-furnished, and not over-modernised; thus, one could feel one was in Italy, rather than a faceless Internationalsville. Bath plug didn't work well - a minor complaint.

Great location near to station and good quality for the price - I stayed on my way from venice to the south of france and broke the train journey in genoa, which I have done before - if you arive late and need to leave early, it is most convenient. The staff are not as sharp/efficient as other hotels of similar rating.
