i visit this hotel regularly and am always pleased with the excellent level of service they maintain. They fixed the wifi: basic access is now free and multi-device, as befitting the level of the establishment.
Location was perfect few meters away from the main plaza, there is public parking just accross the street. Size of the Room was just about right, there is a small balcony where you have an excellent view of the adriatic ocean. We stayed there on August 15, and at around 11 pm there was a terrific firework display along the dock near the hotel which lasted for almost an hour. The doorman was very helpful, went to the other side of the street and got all our luggage.
Wifi connection was terrible
Alles war rundum Perfekt
Great hotel, old building.....very good room.
This is a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location. The staff couldn't do enough for you - in fact we got a free upgrade to a suite on our arrival which was a lovely surprise. Would highly recommend.
The place, the upgraded to suite
Excellent hotel. Beautiful, well located and spotlessly clean. As we have already stayed at other hotels of the same chain, they gave us an upgrade to a wonderful suite. Kind and polite staff.
This is definitely one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in - and I have stayed in many! We loved the tasteful decor, excellent location in the middle of town and very friendly staff. View from the hotel towards the Trieste Bay is fabulous.
Excellent central location, minutes away from the Piazza D'Italia and the ferry terminal. Friendly and helpful staff. The GM Ricardo was on duty when we checked in and, on discovering we had something in common, personally came to greet us and spent about 20 minutes informing us of sights to see in the vicinity, day trips by boat and car and recommending a variety of restaurants. We followed his advice and every tip was a hit! Elena on duty at the desk was also very helpful and efficient and provided us with ferry timetable and made restaurant bookings for us. She also explained the "pillow menu" to us, ensuring we had a comfortable night's sleep. Our room was compact, but well appointed and comfortable. We had a lovely view over the harbour and the sunsets over the ocean were fabulous. Breakfast was pretty good, without being overly flash. There were a couple of things that could be improved though (see negatives below) The hotel is not cheap, but we thought it delivered good value for money and is well worth it's 4-star rating, with service closer to 5-star level.
Not much. On arrival, the aircon wasn't working (or at least, we couldn't get it to work) and the room was very hot. We told Elena on our way out to dinner, and by the time we returned it was working perfectly. The help yourself "cafe Americano" was, to my taste, awful, but the staff were happy to bring you a properly made espresso or cappuccino on request. Hot breakfast was a bit limited boiled/scrambled eggs and bacon . The scrambled eggs were fresh and well made, but not very hot. A proper bain marie to keep hot food warm would have made a big difference. There was no chef on hand to make other eggs etc. Perhaps you could order these, but I doubt it as I did not see any menu or other guests doing so. Parking was pretty expensive ay E23 per day, but they do offer a full valet service - pick your car up from in front of the hotel and deliver it again at 30 mins notice. This is less than we paid in Nice at a comparable hotel and we had to park the car ourselves.
Beautiful and elegant hotel right in the center along the boulevard , sea view . Perfect location .
The airco was not working properly .
We were upgraded to a very nice suite. Friendly staff, piccolo service which was fab having shopped a lot of wine in Italy. :) Real (i e strong) coffee for breakfast if you asked. Nicy lobby/bar area. Fantastic location next to the seaside.
The location is superb. The staff is extremely helpful. The room was very comfortable.
As stated by another guest, the breakfast is good, but could be improved. The hot choices should include a hot cereal, such as oatmeal.
Very beautifully renovated hotel with a tasteful interior, similar as the origin might have been. The colours and materials harmonize with each other, as old and new do. The room was very comfortable, breakfast is very good, the staff very professional, some very helpful.
Guests have to ask for the Wi-Fi password every 24 hours!
old style grandeur combined with modern comfort standards; a pleasure to stay in this old lady
large rooms, modern decor, great location and staff are super helpful.
no parking and bad internet!
Clean spacious room Great view of harbour from our room Nice breakfast Friendly and helpfull staff
Room was expensive but were upgraded to a suite only failed. Magnificent . First visit since significant refurbishment - superbly done.
Swing front door was difficult to negotiate. Fruit at breakfast was mainly out of a tin - not good for Italy in June.
The location is ok for the view, we have upgraded our stay to a junior suite with a connecting and the view was breathtaking, but that is it. The reception staff were good, but not all staff as some were rude and very ignorant. For the value of money I would say that there are other better options for sure.
Restaurant manager who was very rude to My father who is 87 she was inappropriate and was making rude facial expressions because he was just old and looked a bit lost setting in the lobby area while I was finishing the check in and when I asked her what is the problem she just shakes her shoulders and walked away... No apology no explanation, when she then realized that I wanted to put a complain she came to talk to me with an angry face, but it was first too late and second again she didn't seem apologetic or polite in her request to talk, so I apologized and walked away, because I just didn't want to ruin my stay.
The facilties and the staff were great especially Alessi who worked the lobby bar area. He was fantastic.
Wi fi is 10 euro a day. Most places this classy or even less have free wi fi. Parking is only offered as a valrt service which is great but 23 euro a day.
Very polite staff with excellent knowledge of english language.Located in very center. Very clean and comfortable!
For this price breakfast should be much better! Wi Fi is very difficult to use!
The view, the rooms, the service.
