Hotel Scala Greca  

Nothing special. Staff was helpful. Rooms are clean. The hotel has a garage, without payment. The center of Sirakuza is not far away also valid for archaeological park.

Hotel Scala Greca was the cheapest hotel we stayed in for our entire holiday around Sicily, and although it showed, you cannot deny it is good value as we were travelling on a budget. The hotel has parking outside and secure parking underneath (though we did not use) and ample public space, e.g. breakfast room/bar area etc. The breakfast was good with tinned fruit, cereal, yoghurt, bread, coffee, sweet cakes etc.

The location was the most challenging thing about this hotel, located a drive away from central Siracusa/Ortygia. There also aren't any restaurants within walking distance, only a pizza shop on the corner (which we didn't use). You can just about walk to the nearest trattoria but it is along a dual carriageway with no footpath in parts. You really need a car to stay here, or to use taxi's etc. The area wasn't great either, and the front car park had two clapped out cars which hadn't moved in years. While it is a budget hotel, the decor was tired, though the rooms spacious, and the balcony doors were not very secure so we left the shutters down. Definitely not a romantic gataway, though served our purposes, in hindsight would have booked closer to centre.

The staff was very helpful and friendly and also the cleanliness in general of the hotel.

The area is quiet and near to the shopping complex and outlets shopping !

Needs restructuring and needs refurbishing, very old furniture and no mini bar.

Wifi was not working at all in the room, really poor in the lobby, too. Breakfast really simple, I wouldn't call the weird stuff coffee at all. Mattresses were pretty bad - the old spring ones, toilette didn't flush 3 times out of 5. The bar was open but nobody was there to serve in the evening. If you're on a budget, the place is ok. If you can afford to go anywhere else, do.

The room was very clean. I had a good view from the window. And if you rent the car the hotel has a good location: there are the Archeological Park with Greece and Roman Theatre in a few kilometres, and it's not so far from the local beach. Anyway they offer a good price for a good service.

Because I had no opportunity to rent the car and I arrived on Sunday I had to go to the center and Origia on foot. Actually I could call the taxi, but I decided to walk. And it was my mistake. So it is too far from the city center for walking. And the second point is the air conditioning. The system is old. Because I froze while I was dreamig I had to get up to switch off it in the night.

Very nice hotel. Amazing value, excellent friendly staff and easily accessible to all Syracuse main attractions. We got home at midnight one evening and the staff opened restaurant just for us because we were hungry, how great was that! Basic rooms but excellent value for £40

Everything was perfect, the personnel was friendly and helpful. They even delivered some sicilian specialties for us, which were delicious and unexpected. So nice! The room was cosy and bright, we enjoyed our stay!

The location was good, short drive to all main sites in Siracuse. There is also frequent public bus running. The rooms are basic, but exactly what you pay for. Free parking is also a bonus.

The breakfast is very simple, not much choice. Ok for once, but would not like to eat it two days in a row.

Son prix et sa situation géographique. Bien que nécessitant l'utilisation d'un véhicule pour se rendre dans le centre historique, je dirai que l'hôtel est bien situé, à deux pas d'une avenue qui traverse la ville sans difficulté.

Trop impersonnel. Mais ceci dit, pour le prix et la situation géographique de l'établissement il ne faut pas s'attendre à des prestations très haut de gamme. Ce n'est^d'ailleurs pas ce type d'établissement qui était recherché. La qualité des petits déjeuner laisse un peu à désirer.
