“Hotel Scala is a really nice traditional Italian hotel with helpful staff. Quite close to the centre of Treviso which is a nice town and only 20 mins from Venice! Great value.”
Nick,
The Hotel Scala is housed in an elegant 18th-century villa, surrounded by a beautiful garden. It is just half a mile from central Treviso, only a short bus ride away. The hotel is set in a tranquil neighborhood and is the ideal place to relax and de-stress. The guest rooms are comfortably and tastefully furnished with luxury fabrics and all modern amenities. The Scala Hotel is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Treviso’s main airport and business district. During the spring and summer why not rent a bike and bike the culinary route of Marca Trevigiana, famous for its sparkling wine, Prosecco. The enchanting city of Venice is just 20 minutes away by train. Hotel Rooms: 22 Most recent booking for this hotel was today at 08:38 from Romania.

We booked for one night only as the hotel is in a good location for our return to Treviso airport the next day. We booked 2 rooms, a double and a twin, they were facing each other across a large landing, making it easy to supervise our older children in their room. Accommodation looks exactly as shown on website and was clean and comfortable, although it is clearly an older property. The staff speak both Italian and English which was good because this was our first trip to Italy. They were efficient and helpful and able to advise us about local transport etc. Only 3 of us wanted breakfast before travelling and this was no problem. The continental breakfast buffet was adequate and fresh and we could eat as much as we needed. The double room although nice and airy, had visible mould on the outside wall around the corner, covered by curtains. We were only staying for one night so didin't mention it. We were also disappointed, as according to the information on the booking website,, We could have had an evening meal at the hotel and had planned to do so that evening, but on enquiring we were told that there was no meal available that night. We were, however, directed to a delightful pizzeria (Pizza di Carla) directly opposite which was brilliant, it was busy and popular with the local Italian residents which says it all, no need to book, excellent food with extensive choices, and inexpensive as well. The last negative point is that the hotel is listed as having easy access to Treviso airport, via local frequent bus service leaving from opposite the hotel every 10 mins or so. On enquiry it seems there is not a direct bus, you would have to get a bus to the train station and then another to the airport. We opted for a taxi at 20 euros as we were a family of 4 and, even though public transport is cheaper than in UK, this was as cheap and easier than getting 2 buses and less hassle,( it was raining when we left). We had a morning flight and needed to be at the airport for 9 am at the latest, so taking a taxi also led to peace of mind about getting there in good time at rush hour.

Basically, everything was very comfortable and enjoyable! Room was ok, staff was nice, location and price too. The only thing that wasn't good is that we couldn't get rid off mosquitos !!! And it was cold too, although we asked to turn the heating on we didn't feel any difference after all.

I and my husband liked the family feeling at the hotel, our twin room was nicely finished and the bathroom was quite spacious. The staff was very helpful and courteous indeed, especially Rita who went our of her way to suggest locations to visit and was always there to give a lending hand. Another blonde front desk lady was also remarkably gentle and helped out several times as did the rest. The fact that there's a bus stop right on the corner of the hotel and that its located on a main thouroughfare made it very easy to travel.

Stayed at this hotel primarily for the restauaurant as advertised on the website but the restaurant and kitchen were closed for renovation. When I said I no longer wished to stay there as the kitchen was closed they refused to refund my money. The next morning they gave me a free breakfast which was poor due to the closure of facilities.

Everything was ok, parking in front of the entrance, nice rooms and supermarket beside the hotel. Great for passing by. For us it was a good experience. Breakfast is not worth 8 euros and our room was bit noisy since it was on the street side. Our friends stayed in another one and didn't had that problem.

An attractive building. Good bar. Traffic noise could be an issue in some rooms. Reasonable local restaurant and patisserie just over road.

The hotel is well situated for those visiting Treviso or those arriving at Treviso airport for Venice. There is a direct connection to the train station on the bus from where you can easily (and very cheaply) travel into Venice. The hotel is about a 30minute walk into town along a long straight (and thus easy) road - we found the walk to be no problem. There is a bus, but the last one returning to the hotel was before 9, so was too early for us. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent and helped us with the bus and also directed us to the lovely patisserie across the road. Overall, a really good option for travelling to Venice. Good price, excellent service. Recommended. We didn't have the breakfast as it cost more than we wanted to spend. We didn't mind the walk into town, but some people could be put off by that/bad weather could make that a pain.

It was really nice for the price. Treviso is a nice city and not far from the train station so you can visit any city on Italy! The bus stops early and if you will have to take a taxi or walk after a certain time. walking from the train station takes almost an hour. A taxi ride costs about 11 euros.

Individual style of rooms, helpful staff who speak good English, excellent breakfast with a very good choice - fruit, yogurts, cereal, cheese, meat, bread and croissants and cake, ease of public transport with bus tickets for sale in the gelateria by the bus stop (although it doesn't sell weekend tickets which are amazing value - got ours from the bus station opposite the train station) Last bus from Treviso leaves quite early and it is a fair walk back to the hotel if you miss it!!

Very nice room and helpful staff. Information on the location should make it clear how far it is from the railway/bus station rather than the city centre. It was a more expensive taxi ride than expected for this reason. It is also on amain road and very noisy.

I didn't like that they said there was air conditioning and there wasn'T.The walk to Treviso center is at least 20 minutes or a bus ride. The people at the desk when we checked in weren't very attentive or informative.

Good value for money. Hotel is older, but has been renovated. Clean and up to date in conveniences. Downside is location, bit of a walk to town and no restaurants (except Hotel's and a good pizzeria) within easy walking distance. There is a grocery across the street.

“The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel suited us as we were able to have a large family room. Although it was a little walk away from the centre of Treviso (10/15 mins) we didn't mind as we were able to hire bikes free of charge once we were there and then went exploring. The breakfast was a generous buffet of fruits, pastries and a hot choice. We only stayed one night, but found the hotel very charming and loved the decorated Easter eggs hanging from the tree outside.” John, Lyme Regis |
