Hotel Scalzi  

The hotel has a charming ambience; the room was comfortable and extremely clean. They had provided me a double bed as per my request. The staff is very friendly and extremely hospitable. The breakfast was basic but the breakfast room was just worth watching; beautifully decorated in the medieval-modern era style. I would recommend this and I would definitely visit again when I am there.

They could add in a little variety in the breakfast. Rest all is great.

The owners & the staff were so wonderful. The breakfast was amazing...with fresh fruit & delicious pastries. Flavia, the receptionist, was so wonderful to give us recommendations for restaurants. The restaurants were all wonderful. The hotel is within walking distance of everything. No need for taking a bus or a taxi. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

The owners did not turn on the heat until after 7:30 am each morning & the heat stayed on until probably around 10 am (but if you are out sightseeing, it is mute point). In the evening, the heat came on around 8:30 pm & maybe stayed on until around 10 pm. We were travelling during a rainy period & when we came back in the evening, soaking wet, the heat had already been "turned off" so we were very disturbed that since we had paid a bit more than we had planned for this hotel, that we were freezing throughout the night & the room had a "mildew smell" from being without any heat throughout the day. Only negative in our entire stay.

The room was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless (always a good test for me). The staff were very friendly and efficient, and spoke good English. The breakfasts were good quality, continental style with -of course - fantastic coffee. The location was within easy reach of the bus and train station, which was essential, and a short walk to all the main attractions in the town. This was one of 3 hotels used on the trip to Italy and the one we liked best.

The location and quirkyness were good, as was the breakfast and service. I booked a single and got one. It was clean with a very comfortable bed, but a rather limited view! However, a tip for the future, to gain repeat business, would be to offer an upgrade to a larger room, if you there is one available? Overall, very pleased with the stay and Verona is a splendid place to visit.

The rooms are very nice with good facilities and lovely bathrooms. Good hot showers. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is very good with real espresso available. It's near enough to the train station to walk and there is an airport shuttle bus from there too. It's about 5 minutes walk to the castle so close to all the beautiful sites of the city.

For the price, everything was a it should be or better so nothing to not like.

Lovely hotel - very helpful staff and comfortable, spacious rooms. Breakfast was a little simple but sufficient. Good value for money and within easy 5 -10 minute walk of the center.

The staff were very helpful, genuinely friendly and proud of their hotel. The room was lovely and the location was ideal for visiting Verona. We were a short walk from the town centre and from the railway station.
