Best Western Hotel Select  

We found this hotel has friendly and helpful staff, a good breakfast, tight but perfectly adequate parking and is an easy 20 minute walk in to the centre of Florence. The rooms were clean and spacious.

Our first room was near the rather noisy air conditioning system which was on from 7am to 10pm. The next day we were moved to the first floor which was much quieter but unfortunately the sound of the lift reverberates through that part of the building. Not a major problem but worth mentioning.

The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful but the hotel is badly in need of an upgrade.

Everything appears worn, stained, chipped and not in good working order. The beds are uncomfortable. We stayed in many nice places during our trip in Itay but Western Select was a big disappointment. It really needs refurbishing.

Good location (it's on a quiet/less busy street). A good 25 minutes walk to city center (or 8-10 minutes by bus no 22). Reception staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There's a 2-3 minutes walk to buy food nearby (they close at midnight) if you are hungry at night. If you come with a car, apart from the hotel parking (16 Euro/day), there's a street parking (across the hotel - blue line), it's free from 8pm-8am (8am-8pm, 1.50 Euro/hr). Mine you every 4th Saturday of the month, the city clean the street (12-4am), so you cannot park there (or you will be towed).

The hotel is not family-friendly with small kids/infant. There have no baby chair for breakfast (even budget 2/3 star have baby chair!). The wifi could have been improved. They gave you username and password but the wifi keep disconnect by itself (for whatever reason) and you have to re-type username and password few times (5-6 times - really irritating!). I only recommend this hotel if you don't have small kids/infant.

Convenience to bus stops and good local restaurants. Also, grocery shop available for forgotten items.

Hotel se nalazi u mirnom i lepom kraju grada,samo nekoliko stanica busom do najstrozijeg centra...takoreci idealno mesto za boravak u jednom od najlepsih gradova Italije. Odnos cene i kvaliteta hotela je na zavidnom nivou i na kraju srdacan pozdrav izuzetno ljubaznom osoblju.

Struttura confortevole con abbondante buffet di colazione

Risulta essere un pò lontano dal centro storico; benché risulti essere ben collegato, attraverso i mezzi pubblici, al centro della città, occorre considerare che dopo le 23 i mezzi passano con meno frequenza e si corre il rischio di dover tornare in taxi o a piedi (circa 30 minuti)!! La colazione a buffet è abbondante ma la qualità dei prodotti non è sempre delle migliori!!

Arredi ed interni curati. Abbondante la colazione. Buona la posizione: pur non essendo nel cuore della città si arriva al Duomo con una piacevole camminata in 10-15 minuti. Unico piccolo neo, la camera (ampia) era arredata con 2 letti singoli ed un matrimoniale che però era al massimo una piazza e 3/4! Per stare più comodi abbiamo dato il matrimoniale alle figlie e scelto I letti singoli per noi adulti.

Chambre familiale atypique mais très satisfaisante située dans la résidence face à l'hôtel : Propre, calme avec une grande salle de bain. Petit déjeuné copieux dans l'hôtel en face. Accès à pieds en 15 min jusqu'au centre historique. (Prendre la rue en bord de l'Arno jusqu'à Ponte Vecchio plutôt que la Via Scala plus rapide mais pas terrible !)

Very good for the money we spent. Nice breakfast. Parking (room for almost 8 cars). Good position, not so crowded and about 20-25 minutes away from the center. Very kind staff and helped us to whatever we needed. We would definetely stay again in this hotel.

The room where the breakfast was served was a bit cold. The rooms could be cleaner but in general were ok.
